Custom Rom with Stylus features - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am thinking about flashing a custom rom on my Note. I have done this before, but only on my phones. What I don't know is, if I can use my stylus like Iam used to or if only certain roms have this feature. If so, which?
Thanks for the help!

[Q] Stock rom, custom kernal that allows vids to work ??

hi all long time lurker here, first i want to thank all the devs for their their time and effort that they have put in to bring out custom roms and tweaks for all of us. with that being said.
Ive flashed several roms to my infuse, but ive found i like stock the best. ive been running 2.3.6 for a while now, unrooted , plan jane and i like it. I want to root it and install a custom kernel but in the past ive found that doing so usually breaks the feature to watch flash videos. Are there any custom Kernels that allow flash to work and work well?
I dont want to go to a custom rom, their just to much for me, i just need the basic interface of the phone and the ability to watch videos to kill time.
I want a custom ker so i can add tweaks to optimize the performance of my device while not overcrowding it with garbage.
Any help pointing me in the proper direction is appreciated

[Completed] Rooted HUAWEI ASCEND Y220-U10 Custom ROM Compatible?

Hey guys I am fairly new to android and really new to this rooting and custom rom thing and I've been doing my research with what a rooted android w/ custom rom could look like and what it could further do.
I was hoping that my rooted phone is compatible with Custom Roms like Cyanogen Mod, AOKP, etc. Unfortunately my phone isn't listed in any listed devices in the well known Custom Rom Sites but I still proceeded with installing Cyanogen Mod since everyone seems to be using it. I don't even know if there are more of these eye candy useful mods that makes the ios look miserably locked up while hoping at least one of these custom rom is compatible with my crappy awesome phone. But upon installation process of Cyanogen Mod WITHOUT awareness that it really isn't compatible, it stated in that page that I could (STILL)use their Custom Rom at my own risk. Beyond that I stopped the installation process in fear of destroying my phone.
I was wondering whether you guys could enlighten me about the compatibility of Huawei Y220-U10 to Custom Roms. I've seen Huawei Y210's on youtube that's using a custom rom but unfortunately ALL of them who's demonstrating their phones are speaking in Spanish. I also installed ROM Installer but I can't seem to see 'FEATURED'? Maybe because it's the free version?
Now I am willing to take the risk, starting from the bottom meaning derooting my phone, wiping it clean, rerooting it and flashing that Custom Rom but I'm seeking advice from much more experienced users because if you guys tell me that it is a BIG NO NO I guess I'll just have to stick with the Go Launcher and wait until I get a much better, stronger, faster android smartphone which has a friendlier compatibility to everything android. And how come I can't access facebook nor yahoo from any web browser in my phone? is it a virus? Please clarify my theories.
Much Regards, Jom
P.S. Phone is running at 2.3.6 and rooted with Kingo Android ROOT
Hello @Jom Apa Welcome to Android / XDA!
"BIG NO NO!" You can't flash ROMs not made for your device because of the underlying hardware incompatibilities. You might completely kill your phone.
Give me a few minutes while I search for ROMs you can use
UPDATE: Unfortunately I haven't been able to find any custom firmware for your device nor Github entries for the chipset used. Seems you'll either have to stick with stock or create your own custom ROMs there are a lot of support here on XDA, Let the learning begin!
Cheers!

[Q] Custom ROM Suggestions?

I have the 2012 version (N8013) stock ROM, current Android (4.1.2). Non-rooted.
I just bought an Amazon Fire Stick which supports Miracast. Sadly, 4.1.2 does not. So, I'm looking for a custom ROM that (in order of importance):
Supports Miracast
Is highly stable
Has performance improvements
Has new, cool features/functionality
Is reasonably customizable
Really, only the first 2 are critical. The remaining 3 are just nice to haves.
I did do some searching but could not tell which ones supported Miracast.
I know ROMs are highly personal, so it's hard to make a recommendation, but if you could maybe offer some suggestions for me to consider, based on the above, it would be highly appreciated.
(I did install a custom ROM on my Galaxy S2 a while back, so I'm not completely new at it, but it's been a while and I only did the one, so I'm only slightly above a noob on this.)
Thanks for your help!
K,
hi, you might want to consider a custom rom which stays with stock standards. In that case go for gnabo just skip the bootloader
portion.
That's what i did for my n8013 and gnabo did fine.
@nerdyblonde ' beanstalk rom runs well bit i don't know about m-cast as i don't use it. the rom is not supported anymore
by way of updates but i run it as my daily driver and will for some time. bluetooth and wifi direct seem to function well
though i use additional apps for that. i''ve neveer tested the ir blaster so.. [shrug] dunno :silly:
don't forget to make a backup !

What does it mean when a ROM sticks with stock standards? And, what does a bootloader do (and why can I skip it)?
Thanks again!

hi,
i just mean gnabo is basically a custom stock rom.
so hardware issues will be minimal if not null.
skip the bootloader.

Custom ROM for SGSPII

Hi guys,
I have been rooting my smartphone before, but never flashed a custom ROM. I don't have much knowledge on the matter.
What I want: my phone to be faster and use everything as I do now. I have read a few things about bugs on custom ROMs, like whatsapp not working?
What do you guys advise?
Kind regards,
Rudy

Question Will there ever be Custom ROMs for Galaxy S21+?

At this point I'm genuinely thinking of selling my phone and buying a new one with good Custom ROM support.
To each their own, but I haven't seen a need for a custom ROM since Android 9. I run a simple debloat script and the phone runs pretty damn well.

Tell me when you find a comparable phone with custom ROM support lol.
I don't "need" custom roms at all but it's a fun hobby to play with and at least on my old OP8P there was some support and I could just daily a new ROM every few weeks. On the S21+ there is only treble ROMs so far. And I don't wanna lose my Knox as my authenticator for work needs intact Knox on Sammy.

Which script do you use? Could you please share it with me?
I don't think there is a need for a custom rom for a new phone atm, because everything works flawlessly and it's even better in a flagship phone.
the only phone that I will consider to have a custom ROM is Xiaomi one, because its implement an ads on its apk installer module.
why do you need a custom ROM? customization is very great with samsung Lock App. but, the good lock app is only available in some region atm.
