I'm getting no connection error whenever I enter any of the google apps (google+,gmail, youtube, etc) when I'm connected to wifi in my Nexus5. I have another smartphone (samsung galaxy fit) with an aircel simcard in it which provides the wifi connection via hotspot.
But Everything works fine when I'm connected to the mobile internet in my Nexus 5.The issue occurs only when I'm connected to wifi. How do I fix this?

I am not able to browse on wifi network. Wifi toggles to on position, can scan the network but not connecting
My phone is running on stock Indian ROM 1.52.720.3 with S-off and rest everything stock, "NOT ROOTED"
Till 2 days back it was working fine and i could use the wifi network
Now most of the time it does not connect to the wifi network, it keeps scanning, detects the network, attempts to connect and finally says disconnected.
Sometimes it connects, i can see the assigned IP but not able to browse the internet or use the android market.
However internet pass through option is working when plugged in USB
I am able to connect my laptop to the wifi network and use the internet, so my network is fine.
I spoke to the customer care, they told me to do a factory reset from Bootloader option...I did the factory reset but still wifi not working
Any help please

I haven't had that issue with the stock ROM, and but it has come up with some modified ROMs. The solution has been to scan for the network, and attempt to connect and then disconnect & forget the network. Rescan and connect worked perfectly after that.
Worth a shot.
WiFi connection reported in settings with office wifi network - says "Connected", shows 4 bars, but no data passes - no internet data, no Speedtest.net connection, Talkatone can't connect to its servers - this on same network that my Galaxy Note, and my iPad 3 connect without difficulty.
My Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 connects to my wifi home network fine, and works fine when tethered to my Galaxy Note.
I am baffled by why it says connected but no data will pass - maybe a firewall issue, but why do Note and iPad have no trouble?
I can connect to a different wifi network in our building, and data passes normally.
Any thoughts/comments/remedies?
Thanks!
This is probably not going to help much, but I had the same problem trying to tether to my phone. My solution was to install an app on the phone that configured hotspot in an infrastructure mode.
In your case, maybe your IT person can offer assistance?
Does the wireless network you're connected to have MAC filtering? I've had that happen before where the device will say it is connected and have an IP, but can't do anything because the MAC address isn't in the allowed list.

The IT assistant found that his Android phone also wouldn't pass data. I will pass along this info, maybe the chief IT guy can sort this out.
Thanks!
I cant use my Samsung Galaxy Y as a modem for my pc. I have already installed USB drivers and setup modem settings on my Windows 7 pc. I am using an Airtel sim on my phone. 2G data is active. When i click connect, it shows "registering on network" and the arrows on the notification bar of my phone which shows the data transfer disappears and the data connection gets disconnected showing the data usage and then error appears on pc that connection failed and the data gets connected again on phone. I have tried many times but it fails everytime. I was using the same sim as modem with my old nokia phone which was working perfectly. Can anyone help me with this..?
I found the solution myself. The only thing I needed to do was to go to network settings and enable 'USB Tethering' and thats it...
Hi,
I suggest that before the update worked perfectly.
After updating the wifi tethering does not work anymore.
In practice, the other device connects but does not navigate.
I noticed that with tethering connected and connected device if I disconnect the data and reconnect them, the connected device navigates but no longer surf the phone.
To be able to surf the phone I have to disable the router and disconnect and reconnect the data.
It's as if either surfing one or the other.
I have already reset my factory data.
My sim has no tethering block.
I've already tried to change APN (default - default,dun - default,supl,dun).
The same problem also in safe mode.
Can someone help me?
Thanks
Nobody? :crying:

Hi. Recentlly I bought a Samsung S7(G930A - AT&T version) as refurbished one. I found a big issue what hurts me a lot. Here are some issues with wifi:
I could not really connect to a lot of WIFI networks, it says "connecting" after that it drops and cycle begins once again infinitly.
On several networks it shows "authentication error occured" , although wifi is public and another devices connects to than one.
On several networks, it connects but connection is very slow(0).. only way to make a better connection, is to put phone on router...awful...
On one networks which i tried, it worked ok..it's an 5ghz wifi. although, not for a long distance from router.
I installed all updates, tried troubleshots from internet with bluetooth, reset and everything..but no success at all... Now I think that problem is really in hardware... Had anyone such issues ? Any solutions to fix ?
Please help...

I had frequent wifi connection authentication errors when connecting with my home wifi and slow Internet loading speeds with my Galaxy tablet, but all my other wifi devices connect consistently without errors.
The steps below solved a similar problem with my Samsung Galxy Note 10.1, and it might help with your Galaxy 7. Some of the steps may vary with your device, but the goal is to set wifi Poxy Settings to NONE, and IP Settings to DHCP. It completely resolved my home wifi authentication error and slow spped when browsing.
For the Galaxy Note 10.1: Settings> WiFi> long press the SSID/router name(the wifi you want to connect to)> Modify Network Config> check the box "Show Advanced Options">set proxy settings to "None" -- set IP settings to "DHCP"> Save.
Now my wifi connection with the Galaxy note 10.1 are quick, consistent, and Internet pages load fast.
I hope this is helpful.
