[Completed] Android Smart TV Box - XDA Assist

Hi Folks,
Looking for some advice...
I'm looking to create a full backup of my android "Smart TV Box" I have just installed all the programs including xbmc for the wee man in his room and kids being kids at some point he will no doubt wipe something or worse end up with a corrupt boot rom etc. I see there are many programs that will allow you to backup the unit if its routed. Is there a way of backing up the full rom without routing the unit so I can reload the firmware when needed as well as all the installerd programs & settings? I have ordered another unit for my daughter and would like to flash it also with the rom on this one to save me endless hours of reprogramming?
thanks in advance.
I have enclosed some info on the box in a pic :cyclops:

Hi,
Personally I know nothing about the TV boxes, but I know Android. I doubt you will accomplish what you want to do without rooting.
That said, you would be best served asking for help here....

[Completed] QPAD LC0720C Uses

Hi,
I can't find anything relevant on XDA for your device. You can ask for help with it here,

[Completed] Hi! I used the build editor to change the split view, but it wont save my setting.

Hello Devs! I used the Build Prop editor (I am not rooted so not sure if this makes a difference) to change the split view value to true, told it to save & reboot, but the device does not reboot.
Should I be rooted for the change in value to save? When I open the app to view the setting again? My device has reverted back to the value of "False".
Perhaps I need to change some permissions or something first? I have made no other alterations to my G3 (other than downloading a few apps and customizing every hear & there).
Thanks in advance for any help you can suggest.

Hi,
You will need to register on XDA and ask for help in this dedicated help thread for your device,

Good luck
So sorry! Trying not to be the typical "noob"
Sorry Devs. I had clicked a link that allowed for "quick questions for non-members", thinking I would have no need to be a member on a "developer site" cuz I'm not a dev. nor do I wish to be. But then I got interested in watching more of your videos & decided to go register so I can learn all the good stuff & post smart questions.
Long story short, I've now registered, got thru the "Noobie Instructs" and am now researching my device. I'm sure I will have many more questions as I go along, but see that your site is a treasure trove of information.
I was really hoping to avoid all this when I got started watching Youtube, interested mainly in some simple tweaks, but see now that I will just have to wade thru the shallows & learn as much as I can about Droid platform.
At worst I will at least be a smart user, right?
I NEVER should have allowed myself to be sucked in by Apple way back when, now I'm starting fresh with Droid cuz I wanted full control of my devices. Guess that's gonna exact the price of taking the time to learn about it smartly, so I Donny make changes I could be sorry for later!

[Completed] How do I write / edit firmware for Android TV Boxes?

I’m looking for someone that can write / edit firmware for Android. Specifically the menu that appears after you boot up an Android TV Box. Nothing too complex; I just want to customize the menu for my TV Box. Or if you can point me to any tutorials so that I can do it myself. TIA.

Hello, and welcome to XDA Assist!
I don't know if that would count as editing the firmware per se, more like hacking an APK (unless it is indeed more low level than an app). In that case, a tool could be helpful.
Not knowing the model name of your TV box means I cannot provide a direct result, but check this forum out:
> Android TV and Stick Computers > Android Stick Computers
Please note, you will need to be an XDA member before you can post.
Hope this helps, and good luck!

[Completed] Force installing android OS through a USB port into a locked car entertainment system

Hey guys, so my mom new vehicle got "upgraded" by the dealer with a custom android entertainment system running android 4.2.2 version.
Thing is that due to regulations the dealer makes the system COMPLETELY dysfunctional, all of the main options are blocked, no google play, no settings, no apps, i cant access no where and install nothing, navigation only.
I tried to find a way to open it and found out that the few people in my country that do it (for a 200$ charge) actually connect a usb stick to the usb port that auto installs a completely new OS and dont crack the original one.
So i would really like to avoid the 200$ payment and i really dont care being a guinea pig for that matter, so any of you know a way to auto install an android OS via a usb\laptop\any other way to crack a system or any other idea that would help me out?
thanks!

[Completed] ePoS system running on Android and connect to another Android device instead of a...

Hi all
I've got a little food truck coming together and was looking at installing an ePoS.
There are many companies out there offering hardware and apps but not quite what im looking for.
I'd like to use an Android as a waiter/ cashier device and then send the order to the kitchen's Android device. Currently looking at using 2 Samsung S2 9.7 devices. The normal setup for all ePoS apps that I've found is that you can have a cashier/ waiter android but the order is sent to a BT printer or through a server to a standard EPSON (or similar) thermal paper printer.
i'm pretty sure that what i'm looking for is readily available but i'm not "feeling lucky" in my Google searches.
I don't want the added hardware like barcode scanners and card swipers. Just a couple of food orders from one tablet to the next.
If anyone can lead me in the right direction, I'd be truly grateful.
