Stuck on boot screen after flashing stock firmware on Galaxy S3. - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I wanted to update my firmware since my phone has been giving me problems lately. The phone is a rooted Samsung Galaxy S3 (SCH‑I535) with the standard rom. I tried to flash it back using ODIN and the stock firmware but it keeps hanging at the Verizon logo screen. Not sure if it's an issue but I didn't reset my flash counter to 0 before trying to go back to stock. I can still get into recovery and use ODIN so what should I do?

What recovery do you have? If you have twrp or cwm you can clear the cache and erase everything only if you have a back up. This should fix it

[Q] help please dont know what happened to my skyrocket

I picked up my phone and had tons of force closes and could not get the phone to respond. I pulled the battery and waited. Then tried to start the phone up again and it will not get past the "rethink possible" screen. It keeps looping on that screen and will not start. I was running stock 2.3.6 rooted only with the cwm recovery.tar flashed. My phone had been working great for a month, the length that I have had it. I can still boot into cwm. I tried formating data/cache/dalvik. Phone still would not boot. I decided to erase my emmc and remove the sd card and sim card and restore my phone with odin to uckj2 and again it is still stuck on the "rethink possible" screen. Any help is greatly appreciated.

There seems to be an ongoing problem with our cwm recovery. This has happend to many of us. To the point where even an odin stock tar flash did notnresolve it. What you need to do is flash thebstock recovery tar...then boot into stock recovery and wipe data and cache. Then boot back into the rom you have. And use rom manager to flash the tmobile samsung galaxy s2 cwm recovery. That will fix your problem. I know of 4 others who have had the same issue
As well as myself and we were all able to recover from it. Using the steps i mentioned.

Silver03wrx: is the problem that this CWM was written for the T-Mobile T989 and not the I727 Skyrocket?

Most likely.

[Q] Phone stuck in reboot, unrooting doesn't work

Hey there guys.
I rooted my Blaze back in October, and loaded CWM 10. Things weren't working 100% right and I decided to unroot today to get the phone back to factory settings. Unfortunately, no matter how many times I follow the directions for unrooting the Blaze--using the .pit, and the updated firmware .tar--my phone still gets stuck in a reboot loop. It gets past the T-Mobile Blaze screen, but gets stuck on the SAMSUNG screen (it just has SAMSUNG flashing over and over, and then loops into the Android screen).
I've tried to flash the stock .tar about seven times now, and each time it's done the exact same thing. I haven't been able to find a thread to help me, despite searching enthusiastically, so I hope you guys can help me out. Basically, I've done everything the unrooting guides have told me to do, but my phone still appears to be soft-bricked. I can still get into download mode, Odin still recognizes the phone, and it always says that my process has succeeded, but then the phone still gets stuck in a reboot loop.
Any ideas?
Have you booted to the recovery and factory resetted and wiped cache?

I did before I tried to unroot it the first time, yes, with CWM. Now, the phone seems to think it's unrooted, so it won't let me go into recovery mode and factory reset.

Oops, sorry, I misinterpreted your question. Yes, when I boot into recovery mode I can factory reset, wipe cache, etc. I've done all those things before trying to flash the stock rom, and it hasn't helped.

I
So first register at www.sammobile.com, then search SGH-T769 under firmware and download the August 2012 ICS or The Feb 2013 ICS Firmware, wait for the download to finish (took me 30 minutes) then extract which ever firmware zip you downloaded then using Odin click on PDA and select the .md5 file which is located in the extracted ICS Firmware Folder that you've downloaded from sammobile.com
Download the PIT file here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1919228
Click on PIT in Odin and then select the one downloaded from the link above
then make sure re-partition isn't checked and start the flashing process after it is done flashing and reboots you'll have stock ics
*BOOT LOOP MIGHT OCCUR*
To fix boot looping after flashing stock ICS just boot into stock or custom recovery and wipe data and cache then reboot and you're good to go.

[Q]- Help! Odin "passed" but phone will not boot up completely!

Hi guys,
I have run into a problem when trying to revert my phone back to stock using odin. Here is the backstory. I was rooted running CM 10.2. Decided to try a 4.3 ROM. Flashed the new ROM successfully but noticed it was really janky when I was setting it up (clean install) and decided to flash my backup of CM 10.2. When flashing the backup, the flash only partially completed and booted into a non-functional version of my 10.2 ROM.
At this point I decided to use Odin and go back to completely stock. Ive used this a few months ago and it worked successfully. I used a tar.md5 of VRBLK3. Odin says "passed!" but when the phone tries to boot up, it gets to the verizon 4G animation and sits there cycling through that animation indefinitely.
I'm at a loss as to what to try next. Ive tried re-doing the odin flash with the same results. Thanks for any help!
Edit: Ive tried booting into the recovery and doing factory rest/wipe cache partition with no luck
Edit: Tried booted into recovery and it worked! I think im good from here.
Clear Cache
I had something similar happen several months ago. I believe the solution for me was to boot into recovery and clear out the cache.

If you didn't get it fixed, pull battery, boot into recovery and factory reset. This will clear data and cache from previous installed ROM. Odin doesn't do this for you.

S6 boot loop help

Phone started boot looping on stock firmware late last year. My wife bought another phone and I haven't been able to get to it till now. Warrantee void due to tiny crack. Wipe cache and factory reset did not work.
I tried loading stock rom upgrade to 5.1.1 using Odin3 This was successful. Still boot loop. Shows Samsung Galaxy S6... turns black for a second then shows Samsung Galaxy S6... in a loop. I guess it is a hardware issue? Anything else I can try?
Of note.. everytime I boot into recovery it says "installing system update..." Then. "no command". Then it goes into recovery.
-Mike
Try this:
1. Boot to recovery.
2. Do a factory reset.
3. Reboot to Download mode from recovery mode.
4. Reflash newest stock rom.
5. Let it auto reboot and see if it still boot loops.
Or try this:
After step 3 reflash stock rom with pit file.
If that doesn't work then I have no idea.
You can also try flashing TWRP and wiping everything (system, data, internal, cache, art) and then flashing a new rom.
Oh and my friend two days ago dropped her phone on the concrete, and her phone started boot looping. She couldn't even get to recovery or anything. She dropped her phone again (her idea, don't try this). And it booted to android without any problems!
Seems like something was shorting the motherboard (?).
Good Luck.
I did as you said above twice already. (without pit) I will try TWRP next. Would flashing a new kernel be helpful?
-Mike
TWRP keeps failing with ODIN. Will it not work with 5.1.1? Or am I missing something. I'm using the AP button, is that right?
Thanks!
what was the stock firmware you flashing, 5.1.1 or have you flashed 6.0.1 already ?

I'm really in the wrong section. I have an ATT phone. There is no 6.0.1 yet for those. I think my phone is not recoverable.

When flashing stock rom with Odin, rebooting is stuck at boot logo

Hello, some days ago i found a Samsung Galaxy Ace Style (SM-G310HN/heatnfc3g) and i decided to mod it, i installed TWRP via Odin and all was ok, but when i tried to install CyanogenMod 12.1 it didn't work. Since it didn't work, i decided to flash stock ROM. It worked once, but now it doesn't work anymore. I suspect it's the PIT file, because when i reflashed stock ROM another time with a PIT file now it doesn't work anymore, let me try to explain:
When i try to flash anything (Stock ROM or recovery, custom or stock), it... doesn't, Odin says it flashed but when i reboot to recovery or reboot to stock, it stays at the Samsung logo or doesn't flash the recovery, even if it says that it flashed. What should i do? Is my phone bricked? How can i unbrick it if it's bricked?

Have you tried booting into stock recovery and selecting the factory reset option and the wipe cache partition option? It is sometimes necessary after flashing via Odin, I've had to do it a few times to solve a bootloop.

Well the problem is... i cant reboot into stock recovery. Its stuck in twrp, and it's not really a "bootloop", it stays stuck at the Samsung logo. I tried to wipe cache and dalvik on Twrp but nothing.
I cant even flash the stock recovery since as i said in the original post, if i try to flash EVERYTHING Odin says it flashed but on the phone nothing happened.
