[Q] Moto G [XT1032 - Falcon] NO SIM CARD? - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey all, I've been getting this problem since I updated lately.
Some times I'd get networking, calls, and all.
Others I've got to reboot the phone a random amount of times for it to work.
And then after a random period, back to unrecognized SIM card.
I've read that this is a known problem but not much more for the XT1032.
What information can I give about this issue?
What should I be looking after?
The bootloader has been unlocked. Kernel is stock. The device is rooted.

Yes, have alread tried.
The other sims are afected the same.
Also, I've tested this sim card in other phones and they read it just fine.
I've just spraid some contact cleaner that doesn't attack plastics and going to check with a SIM again, don't think that's going to help in any way but oh well..
Any further ideas?

Does it reboot completely (motorola boot logo) or just ask you the pin?

No pin ask, no simlock nor sim password on this device/sim cards..
Full motorola reboot is what I'm doing (power off, and power on), also tried rebooting into safe mode, and forced reboot.
None seemed to work.

Since calls, data etc.. work sometimes I think it's not an hardware or software issue. Has your sim been cut by yourself?

At first I had one I had cutted myself.
Just yesterday I received the one I orderd that came pre-cut.
This are the ones you actually get to just push out of the SIM card holder, I don't know if this is the same as before, but still sometimes work some times doesn't, yeah..
Pretty frustrating as the phone is right now in a pretty much unusable state..
May it be some kind of change if I try to flash a new ROM or some custom kernel?
I don't really want to go to the SAT.. Nor dissamble it myself really..

Wish me luck. I've dissambled it, pulled a contact upwards with a needle, and it recognized the SIM right away.
I'm not sure if this is going to last, though.
Will keep informed about the issue for someone else having the same problem.

So basically you've a damaged SIM slot?

Looking at it from the outside being the phone disambled, it didn't look like it was damaged.
However, one of the three copper contacts was laying lower than the other two, that one I pulled upwards with the help of the nail in the image until it retained a higher position.
It's promising that upon power-on it recognized the MicroSIM and is working so far.
Although, this could very well still be part of the random behaviour it was showing before.
So I ain't getting much excited, I'll see how much it lasts.
I've already voided my warranty so if this works it's time to go deeper and mod some more stuff.

You could have simply asked for a replacement, which would have saved u the real headache

Due to the phone being bought abroad it wasn't really a choice

[ROM-DEV] 04/16/10 | Back from the dead | Coming soon

Geek For Me is proud to announce:
Toast's Secret Sauce
From the developers who brought Eclair (Android 2.x) to the CDMA Hero
I'm confused about this post/rom
A lot of new HeroC users out there don't even remember a 2.1 before damage got the leaked RUUs. I actually ported it to the Hero way back in November of 2009 from a copy that had been ported to the GSM Hero. Myself, toast, and a couple of others then spent MONTHS getting everything working. We started with basically nothing at all and ended up with a near fully functioning rom, through the use of real dev work. Check the older posts at http://geekfor.me/android21/ for info on the previous work. I also went ahead and made this post using the old thread so that maybe people can get some history on it.
Can you tell me more about this?
I'll be staying tight lipped for the moment but what I will say is that this is marked as a dev rom for a reason. It is not going to be a 100% functioning rom and is made more as a proof of concept, and for fun. It is not meant as a daily rom for most users.
When will this be released?
Coming soon to a phone near you. We're still working on hammering out some bugs, and adding some features.
And a little teaser (benchmarks) :

Just make a nandroid backup and you'll be fine. lol. This doesn't modify anything that could possibly brick your phone. But yea... it's pretty to look at but doesn't do anything just yet. I can probably get wifi working and such but I don't know what my chances are of making it work on Sprint. I don't know if it even ties in to our radio.img at all and if it's compatible with 2.1.
Many thanks!
I will be flashing this momentarily but wanted to ask you generally what is involved in "porting" a ROM from GSM to CDMA. My naive understanding is that 1.6 and up are GSM/CDMA capable.
And I must admit (with a developer background in many flavors of *nix, particularly the open source varieties of Linux and BSD) I'm not sure I understand why Android is so device specific. Is it the device drivers for individual hardware, the radio? Chip/CPU architecture?
Thank again for the work, I'll let you know what happens!
Hey Flipz.
have you tried to load the modules from the 1.5 rom. ie the radio and all other pertinent modules for the cdma radoi
Tried it can't get past the boot screen. Waited for a crazy long time. You didn't say to do a Nandroid backup in your post, What should I do now? Just kidding, you know it's going to seriously be asked in a couple of posts though.
from the sceen shots i can most likely tell what the major issue is.(i.e. 2.6.27) lol... but hell yeah man!!! thanx fixin to flash now.
If you wait a seriously long time and it won't boot then you likely didn't do a wipe before you flashed the update. It will fail horribly and just keep looping on the startup screen.
I haven't done a single thing yet to try and get anything working other than getting it booting. I wanted to post it up here ASAP.
ah I didn't see to do a wipe, if I wipe the nandroid on the sdcard stays right? I assume it does but I'm going to copy to the copter to be safe. Thanks.

Yup. The wipe pretty much just clears from info from /data/. But having multiple backups is always a good thing!
ok man great... it boots. it takes a minute but it boots. ur right nothing works. maybe bluetooth but all i did was scan for devices. it scanned. but i dont got a bt device. anyhow im gonna charge my phone a bit an try to debug some issues. phone is dead so i gotta wait a few. but thanx again man... good work
oh yeah it booted after a wipe, I feel dumb, it's kind of cool to play arround. the two things I really wanted to see from the 2.1 where the pinch to zoom home screen trick that will zoom out and show all 7 homescreens at once. And the Landscape home screen. Oh well it's really cool to check it out on a CDMA device now after all the GSM brothers have been having fun.

if u cant then try plugging in the usb and adb shell. thats all i did. i was doing that then my wife called and surprised the hell out of me
Does sense UI now work with the accelerometer, per rumors and leaks) or is that not the case yet?
idk... i tried using teeter and the ball wouldnt move.... i think the accel is broken... bluetooth works i paired up with my wifes eris

Oneplus One. EMMC Possibly Corrupted but not sure, need help unbricking.

If anybody can add me on skype or steam or any other IM platform, that would be fantastic, just PM me if you could, with your user for anything.
I have all the possible QPST tools needed to interface with my device, and it still has some life left in it, for example it is still able to interface via usb through qualcomm's 9008 qdloader drivers.
I have tried endlessly to unbrick this device using various tools and methods, but they all come up with that same error relating to Sahara, firehose, or programmer. I can't seem to get MiFlash to do anything, since I know basically nothing about how it works, just that I followed some guys tutorial on flashing to the Opo, but it doesn't seem to work. All the QPST tools say it can't communicate with the
flash programmer.

Am I screwed except for JTAG? I really, desperately need help, and this seems to be the only place to get actual help from devs who actually understand what is happening in terms of partitions, etc. (Xda won't help me since I'm a new user and I've tried posting multiple times and got basically no response.)

What works for you and the majority of other people sadly doesn't work for me, or people with my issue.
No tool this specific case exists yet to fix this.
It's as simple as that. I need a developer, I need a programmer. That is all I need. And I've been on the hunt for months.

Linux, Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows 8 and 8.1 separately, (seriously), you name it. I've tried everything. I mean that to its fullest If the tools in my post weren't enough, I've also tried a billion others, whether they relate to the OPO or not.
Again, people with this issue need a developer, the device doesn't go into 9006 Loader mode when tools like ToolStudio try to flash things to it, aka locked bootloader (I think). This has nothing to do with drivers. I'm not looking for a one click solution, one doesn't exist. I'll do almost anything to fix this.
If you got sahara error unplug your phone and try again with holding VolUp and plug it back in. This is to force it into 9008 mode again.

Indeed. I just need custom linux code to mess with the partitions. I had a friend try wiping EVERYTHING in Twrp terminal, all the partition data, nothing remained. And the ColorOs tool (Msm8974 Downloader) still managed to rebuild the partitions, etc. If there's any way I can nuke the OPO's current partition data through something like a linux perl script, I'd probably be set to restore it through the regular tools.
Here's what happens when I try to flash anything with qdloader's perl script in Linux.
Good Luck.!
I see it very difficult to repair, better choose to buy the motherboard on eBay for $ 100, I wish you luck hopefully you can fix.
Same issue here. Tried everything and every suggestion out there. Still stuck on 'Sahara' issue. I also tried with the QFIL software but met with the same dead end. The idea of wiping the entire partition tables in Linux may work, if only we can get the 'how'. I'm just stumped why this one is having this issue; the first one I unbricked went smoothly, no issues and worked perfect afterwards. I wish I can get my head around this quickly; it's giving me sleepless nights.
stuck at same step
me too tried all possibilities and stuck at same step; spent sleepless nights to fix it and still hunting for solution

Sounds like hardware failure for it to just stop. You could've had an unexpected surge charging, and the some part of the motherboard failed. I agree with earlier post, it might be time to replace it. Sucks, but it happens and I've seen it happen from time to time when I worked 3 years in wireless (VZW and ATT) in college. None of our tools would bring them back and we had software to do exactly what you're asking/looking for. It would wipe the phone to the point of literally being a brick, then reload everything back onto it. It would take hours sometimes and most failed. They eventually started hiring people just to do that all day, and we'd ship them off to a local store that had people doing it all day in the back offices.

[Q] Replaced motherboard, now it's not charging!

Hey everybody! As the title says, I replaced the motherboard on my SM-G920V with one from my wife's old S6 (also 920v). She thought it'd be fun to throw it at me when she was angry, and shattered both front and back glass. BUT ANYWAY... After I finished installing everything how it's supposed to be, I started it up and was so happy to have my S6 back to OE2! My only issue now is that it won't charge, yet will recognize a charger. I haven't been able to connect it to a computer, because mine was blessed with a lovely RootKit/netbot that took over every aspect of my machine. So if any of my hardware people could help me out, that'd be great! What could I have done wrong?!
Maybe just replace the charging port and everything will be right. good job on switching the motherboard, it is really hard to do anything with this phone, I just sent it to samsung when my touch wasn't working, eventually paid 40$ but screen is like 300$ , they said my touch connection to the motherboard was bad. Anyway, I recommend you to send your phone to there or switch alone your charging port, good luck
What was your reason for changing the motherboard on your phone?
Sometimes you have to match the right Rev.# Hardware for the charging port. So basically change out the USB pcb board with the one in your wife's phone and check does that work.
To fix your rootkit portable superanti spyware software or kaspersky. Easy fix...

My reasoning was simple, and purely justifiable: ROOT! Mine did the upgrade with the patches, so I lost root. I figured "Why not?!" I'm pretty good with computer hardware, so I figured I'd try my luck with phones. I will definitely try that when I get home from work, thank you!
And as far as the RootKit, I tried a couple things, but I think it took over my flash drives too. I'm definitely gonna get the machines (yes, all 3 of my machines got it) repaired, but I have more important things right now. Like my phones and my new-ish baby and food. Can't forget food.

Let me know if you were able to fix this, my galaxy S6 edge is not charging anymore, only slow charging (usb charging speed) which takes more than 6 hours for a full charge, i even tried some replacement usb boards and they didn't fix the issue, so i don't know what to do anymore, and i don't want to send it to samsung.

Did you try chnaging the USB cables, chargers etc. Also sometimes dust on the USB port can cause a loss of connection. This is a old trick you could try and still works very well. Get an old toothbrush (make sure its clean and dry) and brush any dirt off the USB port connection

I still don't understand why you changed the motherboard. Could you explain!? You trying to say that your (original) phone upgraded to 5.1.1 and you lost root? So you decided to change the motherboard.*
Did you open both phones and see if the USB motherboard is a different version on either phone.
As I said with the rootkit download superanti spyware portable or kaspersky will fix everything. Easy!!

It did the upgrade to the patched 5.0.2 and snatched root away from me. I had my wife's broken one laying in a drawer, so I figured I'd try swapping.

Yes, I did. And they are completely different. But in looking at my original, I snapped the ribbon connecter. Whoops. So them I thought about all the stuff that on the back panel (see image). So, what i ended up doing, was a swapping out everything that connected to the motherboard from the back panel. Power button, Volume buttons, and the speaker/mic hardware. And I'm proud to say, IT WORKED!!!!!
So, thank you for pointing that out to me. I really do appreciate it.

You upgraded your original phone? As in you got a custom ROM which was pre-rooted? Is that what you mean? This still doesn't explain why you would change your original motherboard with your wife's one. I still don't understand why you would change motherboards.
Why didn't you just Flash TWRP and respected BL and modem for your phone. Then Flash a 5.1.1 Rom for your phone. Android version 5.1.1 seems to have solved all the problems that 5.0.2 has. You wouldn't have needed to change any motherboard then.
So everything is working now that's good.

The Verizon bootloader is locked, first off. And second, the patched 5.0.2 that they released OTA made it to where you can't downgrade. The original 5.0.2 was rootable. Not the patched version. Anyways, problem was solved. I'm working on my laptop's issues now.

Sent the root.zip S7_S7E_ROOT_UNROOT_ADB_TOOLS's has and also the L S7 rom file to my phone while in TWRP.
Installed progect L S7' Rom and root.zip together in one function (I have no sdcard and wanted a clean install of L-s7.)

I installed https://androidfilehost.com/?w=search&s=Safestrap-4.09-B01-GREATQLTE.apk (about the closest build to my s7,; it's actually 4 s8.)
and installed recovery from safestrap app.
used the safestrap app to reboot to "safestrap"
S7_S7E_ROOT_UNROOT_ADB_TOOLS is the most collest little app and made by ,jrkruse, https://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=1949695
L-s7 prodject is A nice Splices Oreo/PIE OS, but now since THE bootloader has been Rooted, I get sail my Pirates's Phone with a boot.img and it's not glitchy as of now.

Hmm... A lot of that is going over my head right now...
I have a G930V that I am trying to breathe new life into. Can I use the above info. to root it and at least get rid of the Verizon bloat that is on the phone? I am not opposed to going with a different ROM, but I never had a problem with stock except for all the Verizon stuff that I can't get rid of...
Considerations:
This phone is now being used on Cricket. Not sure if that will have any impact, but wanted to mention it... Maybe a custom ROM would fix the problem of every incoming call has "+" on the front of the number making the phone think it is an international call...
I don't believe that I am using Knox, or have used it in the past. I would know if I was using it right?
I use the Samsung Pay option to emulate credit card swipes. As far as I know, that only works with Samsung Pay? I would like that to continue to work.
Please dumb down things as much as possible for me! I haven't really done much with rooting and custom ROMs since I had a few Galaxy Nexus phones that I was playing with...
Thank you very much in advance for your assistance!

Your reply is not that recent, but...
I have been continuing to use this Verizon S7 on Cricket for a little over 2 years now. It has been sluggish since I never got around to doing what I mentioned above, but it worked. The phone still looks flawless as I have been good with screen protectors etc.
I was using the phone today and had just clicked on a video embedded on m.facebook.com (I refuse to load their app...) and my phone rebooted. And kept on rebooting, only getting as far as the Verizon screen a couple of times. Lots of Googleing today has taught me how to:
Get into Maintenance Boot Mode
Normal boot keeps me in the boot loop
Factory Reset takes me to a black screen that says "Recovery Booting...." in blue letters at the top and most of the time goes no further.
Sometimes it will now show a blue screen that says Erasing or Installing Update (or something to that effect) now that I have been using Odin to flash factory ROMs.
Safe Mode will usually get me to the Galaxy S7 splash screen with "Recovery Booting...." in blue letters at the top, but not always. The phone with usually sit on that screen for a number of seconds with the Blue LED on constantly and then reboot.
Power Down will shut down the screen, but the Blue LED stays lit constantly.
I have only been able to get into the recovery menu twice. Now when I use Home+Up+Power I see "Recovery Booting...." in blue letters at the top. It will hang there for a number of seconds, then reboot to the same screen repeatedly.
I have been trying to get to that menu to clear the cache after flashing the factory firmware.
I have learned how to use Odin
Although I am not sure if it is best to use the most recent version that I found (3.13.1) or a "patched" older version that I found included with one of the factory firmware options that I have tried.
I have flashed factory firmware
I have tried to flash the most recent Verizon firmware from here (https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s7/firmware/SM-G930V/#SM-G930V), and most of the time the transfer says it is successful, but the boot looping continues.
I also tried the Cricket firmware that I found here (https://tinyurl.com/5nhsmeam). It was also mentioned here in this forum, but I have lost that page at this point. Again, most of the time the transfer is successful, but the phone will not boot completely.
I tried to instal TWRP recovery (from here - https://dl.twrp.me/herolte/), but it fails every time that I have tried to install it from Odin.
I am at a loss of what to do next... At this point I can look at installing another ROM if that would get this thing running. I just need it to run on Cricket (even though it is a Verizon phone).
I appreciate all help and suggestions and would ask that you "dumb it down" as much as possible for me please! I have not done anything with custom ROMS since playing a lot on my Droid X, Droid X2, and a number of Galaxy Nexus phones. A lot has changed since then!!

Question [FBS]What provider in usa supports this device?Poco X4 Pro 5G 256GB?

Amazon says its not compatible with verizon
Damn thing has sd slot, 3.5mm jack, bootunlockable.
i want.
USA
What provider in usa supports this device?
Mine is the redmi note 11 pro 5g, but they're the same phone. I connected it with metro by tmobile. it was a deal to connect tho, called once cause the automatic process wasn't recognizing my imei number.
i called once told them it supports their bands and they said they will send a connection request 24hrs later didn't work. Called again they talk to tech support, and said they will force a connection, and it worked, but charged me 20 bucks
I'm having the same run around with metro. Is there anything that you said or or that I should say to get the same thing done? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Tell them you did your research, your phone is unlocked and supports all tmobiles bands, and tell I.t to for a connection. they will charge you 20 bucks tho like they did me, and even if they say some network features won't work just tell them it's fine.
My 5g works, volte works (you have to put in a code in the dialer) texting works, calling, all works great

Awesome thanks again. I will let ya know if it worked or not hopefully soon. This phone is outstanding for what it cost and I'd hate to not use it.

goodluck bro the trick is be persistant and annoy them until you get what you want
(btw i got this less than a month when it came out, so no provider new about this phone here in the us i'm guessing so it was extra tough to get it working)
btw this phone is amazing, i was so scared the first day i got it cause metro wouldn't connect it or any other service provider when i submitted the imei number to test if it was compatible.
but it was all worth the trouble i love this phone
will be tough to switch unless the redmi note 12 pro gets a new game changing feature like wireless charging or curved front glass like their flagships
I've no doubt it was scary. I've had this phone for about a month and I am/was thinking it may have been money down the drain. I am not sure what you mean by curved glass but I had the original lg flex and I loved that phone. Lg really screwed up dropping it. I only gave it up because it was about out of any updates. Most of my apps were staring to not work soook. But kick ass phone. My first xaiomi was the note 8 global and that was all it took.
So I called metro 3 1/2 hour call for the third supervisor to tell me there was nothing she could do and that she would not put in a order for tech support to call me back. She basically said fuq u to me at which point I lost my composure and screamed every last profane name I could out at her till she cut me off. Lol I believe she is still wondering what an inner anal fn zit is. So any thoughts on my next move? Hahaha. I can laugh now but ....
