I've got the device below
http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/broad...tery-charger-and-power-bank-21729435-pdt.html
When I try to use it on my S5 it works for about 30 seconds then switches off. I've fully charged it as per the instructions, tried different cables including a usb 3.0 cable.
It works fine on my S3 LTE so I'm guessing it doesn't put enough power out for the S5?
Anyone got any ideas on portable chargers that work with the S5?

I bought a Samsung battery bank prior to a vacation and ended up going to the Verizon store on day 2 of my vaca. I bought the Sony 10000mAh portable and works likes a beast. I have only ever needed to get 2 full charges out of it on my Galaxy S5. While on my vaca I used it to charge my daughters iPhone 5 and my Galaxy S5 and was able to keep our phones charged for a full day of videos and pictures. I was actually very surprised at how well it did as well were in Florida at Universal Studios and at one point I had to stop to upload some of the videos and pictures to my Google Drive. I would definitely give it a try and if you can buy it through your carrier you should get a discount plus can return within roughly 14 days if wanted.

Hm, not sure why that wouldn't work. The S5 should charge ok even on 500mA though it will take forever. Maybe a different cable would help.
At any rate I've used (with my S5) the New Trent PowerPak Ultra 14000mAh, which works great (2A output) but is a brick, and the tiny little 2800 mAh Unu enerpak micro, which is nice because it's small and inexpensive, but feature-free and limited to a 1A output and doesn't supply enough juice to fully charge the S5 in one shot.

I would agree, the sony are pretty good and they keep the charge well, I also have a sony, but with 5000mAh battery inside which allows USB or qi wireless charging, it's surprising that my battery states 5000mAh but will output max at 3300mAh.

You always lose 10-15% in the transforming process. 5000 might be the nominal capacity, but during charging even straight with cable there will be loss.
When Qi charging the los will be at least double.

What it's your opinion, it's worth it?
How many REAL charges can be performed for DHD, and how long it last?
here it's the link

Thank you!
Don't know about that one, but this one is 40% cheaper:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/New-Trent-Dual-port-IMP50D-Blackberry/dp/B004AM1OK4/ref=pd_cp_ce_1
I bought it a month ago, same storage capacity as the one you're looking at, comes with USB cable and 2 adaptors (mini & micro usb) which is just enough to charge the pack and your phone respectively. Or a phone with a mini usb port...
I haven't done any serious benchmarking, but I'd estimate about 3 "full" charges. The pack itself does take some time to charge up, since it's filling up 500mah and I do it via the PC usb port, so a direct wall charge would probably be faster.
I use it as a top up, so normally I plug it the phone in for an hour or so, take it to 80% charge. Haven't done any 0-100 trials
There are a couple more vendors on Amazon, check them out. I have noticed that the price of this model varies over time: I bought it at 22.95GBP, then saw it at 29.95, and now it's 25...
thank you for your reply, do you think the charger of DHD will charge it faster?
I am using the Gum Pro from justmobile and I'm really satisfied. 4400mAh capacity, 1000mA output... charging way faster than standard charger. Lasts for 3-4 charges...

Fantastic, I want that for my DHD

I would think so. I'm not sure about the output the battery pack receives from my USB port (I have 2 ports on the laptop, and one is connected to a hub with 10 outputs of which 5 are normally in use, which is where the pack is recharged from) - but the wall chargers are normally faster in my experience.
Anyway, a slower charge is always recommended, as it's said that the battery performs better with slow chargers, and I can tell you it's truth, I now onlye charge the phone via USB and seems to have a better battery life(not much better, but still, bit better)
well, I have buy the one I posted and I charged with htc wall charger (it will charge my phone 3 times), that's good but today when I try to charge it again it's say that it's empty. I plug it in charger and in 5 min it's full. (it's take around 2 hour to full charge). when I plug my phone back on - to charge it - it's working normal.... it's that ok or it's going to final/death
I mean it needs a inpulse to go back to normal
It's this happend for you guys?
It sounds like it isn't working properly, though I'm sure you noticed .
Proporta offer a no-hassle returns policy, though you will probably have to pay the postage - so you could request a replacement, or just get you money back & get yourself another brand.
We offer a super high capacity USB battery @ 9600mAh for roughly 39 Euro / USD 55 shipped to any country. The down side is having a single USB port output only comparing to Proporta's dual output.

Wow... that looks physically identical (but in white) to the New Trent 5000mah casing. Even the charge/discharge indicators and button.

Er... can you fit double the capacity into the same volume? What are its dimensions?
sorry for bad pic but here you can have an ideea about the size.
got another clone of the new trent one, tecknet iEP380 5000mAh, about £23 via amazon
note these all charge via the mini usb conector , not the micro charger one that the desire HD uses,
its about the size of the phone again, so not an everyday item to carry around, but when your away from a power source for a day or two it does the job well.
Hi, I have a galaxy tab s 10.5 without the original charger and Im using my galaxy s4 charger(2amp 5.0v) but its take arroung 8 hours to fully charger!! that just unacceptable. Where can I find a charger (No need to be oem) that can charger my tab in a decent time. Thanks

The OEM on that comes with the tab is almost the same as the s4, they are both 2 amp. 8 hours for a full charge does not seem far off what mine did from new. (Left over night to charge) You wont get a faster charge from another charger, in fact just the opposite.
8 hours is just too much. The galaxy s4 charger have 5.0v and the galaxy s5 have 5.3v. Maybe that's affecting the charging time or not?
Charging current is divided in 4 categories. You can assign them using synapse app (requires root).

Mine charges in 2 to almost 4 hours from 10 to 100percent. Im am using the stock charger and it works great. I found that some chargers charge devices really slow(my dad has a slow one).
I use one of the Anker 40w 5 port chargers to charge my Note 3 and Tab 3, ALOT quicker than a standard charger.
(would post the link but i've not got enough posts)
If you check on amazon, you can sometimes get them for £15-20, Well worth the money..

I also have the Anker charger and while I love the thing, I'm having the opposite experience with it (seemingly slower charging times). I'm willing to give it another try though. Do you have more than one device plugged into it at once?
My Anker 5 port was slow to charge too. The cable has something to do with it, but the 5.3v rating on the stock Tab S charger has more to do with it.
im using standard charger + 20 cm cable lolz
I 'm using s3 charger and work perfectly

genuine advice, don't get 3rd party chargers. yes they can work and sometimes they may destroy ur device. i have had experience. i was give a Chinese tablet as a gift. it had 3A charger. i used to charge my S3 with it. it used to charge that in like 20 minutes from 0% to 100%. but phone used to get so much hot i had to remove the battery to cool it down for like 5 minutes straight! after some time my phone's battery got swollen up and it was useless. had to buy new battery.
My gf's S6 doesn't fast charge anymore. I have a S6 too and tried cables, chargers and different outlets so for sure that's not the problem. I've made sure the plug is all the way in so it's not that. I'm going to contact Samsung because we're still under the year mark but there is a small possibility some water may have gotten in the charging port. With 3 kids it's tough keeping your toys away from them all the time. Anyone hear of any issues with the fast charge not working? Most of the threads I could find about this issue is resolved with a new charger or just plugging it all the way.

Good evening everybody,
Appologies for attaching to this post but my question is about fast charging in G920F I own, too. When I use stock AC quick charger and stock Samsung cable, my phone charges quickly (not a surprise). But when I use stock quick charger and other microUSB cable (e.g. the one I got with the Chromecast 2), S6 charges in normal "slow" mode. Does this functionality depend on the cable?
Thanks in advance for a reply & best regards.

It depends on 3 things. The phone, the charger and the connection (th e cable). So yes, the cable is a crucial factor in utilising Fast Charge
Think of it as having a fast car, a driver comfortable with pushing the car to the limits, and the road being the cable. If the road isn't build for the speed (let's liken it to a country ally/road) you can't safely drive at top speed. So you drive at the safest speed you can with the road you have. That's what the phone and charger do. Rather than blowing the cable (which could happen), it just draws a smaller amount of power to keep everything safe.
Sorry for the big reply. I like to be as informative as possible in one go
Well I tried Samsung wireless quick charger and still no luck. Guess I'll have to send it to Samsung.

I had the same thing happened to my S6 two weeks ago. It charged only slow way, even with a fast charger, and i tried few cables and solutions. At the end i took it to warranty and they replaced that whole board with USB port. It was done in 24 hours and now it works like new. They even gave me brand new Fast charger and cable for free. Good guy Samsung .
After using their single port USB C charger Choetech send me their latest, which has 1 Type C port and 2 Type A ports. The Type C port delivers 5w/3a charging and the Type A ports offer 5w/2.4a max. The C port performed basically the same as my stock 6p charger, and while plugging in devices to the Type A ports caused a slight decrease in the power going to the C port it was only around 50mAh so it was nearly inconsequential. The size on this is small enough that I can throw it in a bag without worrying, and the foldable plug design helps keep it compact. Three ports mean I only need one charger for my phone, watch and Bluetooth speaker making this a great travel charger. Overall I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a quality charger that can handle both old and new devices.

<MODERATOR EDITED - SPAM REFERRAL LINKS DELETED>
I pulled around 2600mah, but my battery was at 55-60%. with the stock charger I pulled basically the same
Looks pretty good. The multiple ports would be nice to charge my tablet at the same time as my phone.
ETA: I also like that the plug folds flat, I much prefer that design even if it's a little bigger.
PM sent as well.
I was just thinking about looking for a c type charger on Amazon this morning. Came here first, looks like this would fit the bill nicely.
I meant to purchase a combo pack the last time I saw someone mention their chargers. They were having some special though, I think, where you could get a wall adapter and cable together and get some amount off. If I run into that again, I'll more than likely pick it up. I need myself a work charger.
Got this as well and it is amazing. I received this new charger and the type C port delivers 5w/3a charging and the type A ports supports up to 5w/2.4a max. The C port works perfectly as well as the type A. The foldable prongs makes this a compact design and less risky to damage. Overall I would highly recommend this to everyone.
I just did a charge test with this unit. I have had good results with this one as well as the single port one.
7:28 PM - 3% Battery - 2550 mA in Ampere
8:25 PM - 78% Battery - Didnt check for mA
8:52 PM - 96% Battery - 650 mA
9:12 PM - 100% charged (it finished before this but didnt check the exact time). Likely done before 9 PM
Testing was done with the OEM google USB-C cable
I just bought this charger...since I got a used n6p w/o a charger...I read it was good for the n6p...is it true?
Just got my 3 port. I used it today and it worked great. Rapid charging worked as expected.

Thanks for the info man.
Looks like there is still no EU version of this charger, I'm sad
With my S10+ and S9 before it, I had several multi-port USB chargers where one support QC 2.0 or better for fast charging. Other than the OEM charger, I haven't seen any other chargers explicitly support the 9V/2.77A USB-PD 3.0 PPS standard the Note 20 Ultra uses. I have seen some USB-PD 45W chargers that say in the footnites that they do not support the 25W standard so this makes me wary of others. Grateful for any experiences others have had.
Even I am looking for an answer to this. Anybody found anything?
There's a few on Amazon I've ordered, I will update when I try them out
I got a car charger that actually does pps. And also a battery tank as well. Both charge the phone at 25watts (super fast charging).
