Kernels for stock rom 4.2.2 - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am new to the world of Android Modding.
For beginners I want to try with Kernels on the stock rom.
What are some of the kernels for p3100 which I can use with stock ROM?
I am satisfied with the battery life but Ram and weak graphics is an issue for me.
Please suggest.

you can try black-hawks next kernel or psn's Agni kernel both are excellent.

Will it brick my device?
I just rooted my p3100 via ODIN. And I have downloaded Agni V3.4 from here.

Since you appear rooted already, I will assume you have custom recovery installed. If not get it from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548257 Then just flash you desired kernel from within.

I have downloaded Slimkat 4.4 for my p3100 but there's not agni kernel for this ROM. What to do?

Sadly, you will have to choose another kernel. Do yourself a favor and try the ones that are for your model and then choose the one that suits your needs.

I didnt find any kernel to run with 4.4. why is that?

Do I really need to flash a kernel to make use of custom ROMS fully"?

Mo you didn't, stock slimkat kernel is good enough

Does Stock Jelly Bean work on Matr1x Kernel?

Hi,
I have installed Matr1x kernel. I am using Stock ICS Rom only. Will the New Jelly Bean Update.zip work.
Can i install using cwm.
Please advise me.

asdf2020
It should flash through CWM, but keep in mind it'll overwrite your recovery and replace your kernel.

Does it will wipe my data/apps as well?
No. Everything will be the same. I flashed over ICS and everything was kept the same for me

For ****s-and-giggles, I threw the matr1x kernel on top of my 4.1.1 ota last night ... It didn't work.

Yea. My app settings stayed the same, but like I said, my kernel got replaced, which is expected. I don't use matrix though and seeing as the kernel sources vary, chances of it working are pretty slim, as seen above.

Your kernel will get replaced. I wouldn't recommend it because I've tried other kernels with the official OTA JB ROM and the experience wasn't as smooth. I have yet to try Matr1x kernel yet though.
No different versión of Ndroid not supported at least yet ;D
Lets just say hes workin on it i would expect
So......official JB 4.1 won't work on my Matr1x kernel

[Q] Kernel Questions

Guys i have two question..Whats the difference between All other ROMs and Custom IO control (CM tweak)
links from https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AntDDKv-lS6IdEt6NWVkX01vNmpfbEh4MHo4eDRCbXc#gid=0
And the second one is to flash the kernel i must first flash kernel and then the rom or first the rom and then the kernel??Thnx
Cm tweak is for cm based ROMs, all others is for, well, all others. Flash kernel after flashing ROM.

How i will find which roms are CM based?
Read the thread about the ROM you are interested in. If I'm not familiar with a ROM, i generally read the first page and the last few pages. That way I see what the dev says about it, and see more recent reviews/comments about the current version

[Q] OC Kernel for Slimbean 4.3.1 ROM?

Hello, I am enjoying my wonderful new rom that was posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2430785
I am looking for a kernel that will work with this ROM and allow me to overclock the CPU. I did do some reading already in the forums, but there seems to be no solid answer. Some say the blackhawk works and some say it doesn't. I will be grateful to whomever helps me find this kernel. Thanks!
NEXT Kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302663 (only don´t forget to flash the proprietary binary part DIRECTLY after the kernel )
or
Dhollmen Kernel should work too http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2176563

[Q] Using Custom Kernel on Stock N8013

Is it possible or advisable to use a custom kernel on a GT-N8013 running the stock 4.1.2 ROM? It is rooted and has TWRP custom recovery, but the ROM is stock. Is there a downside to doing this?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

What should I be aware of after flashing a Kernel?

I've been researching about this for 30 minutes and still couldn't find anything that answered my question, I apologize in advance if the answers are obvious.
So the question is as the title states, what should I be aware of after flashing a Kernel on CM12.1? Will I have any issues when updating to another nightly? Or when flashing a stock-ROM ? Thanks in advance!
if you update your rom, your kernel will be replaced with one if the rom.
so you have to reflash your custom kernel

One more question if you don't mind, how can I custom my kernel settings? Currently on Squid Kernel (Moto g 2015), CM12.1
Install kernel adiutur from the playstore. With that app you change all your settings
