Hey guys,
One fast, noob question
If I've got CWM correctly installed on miro, does it mean i've got unlocked bootloader?
Yes
without unlocking bootloader you will not be able to flash kernel.

Right now I have the 4.0.4 Android( stock version) of the xperia j with locked bootloader and I've rooted-it and I've also installed the CWM.
I would like to install Cyanogen Mod 10.1 but since I have the 11.0.A.7.5 firmware I have locked bootloader and I can not flash it.
My question is if I can flash an older stock firmware and by doing so will I be able to unlock my bootloader?
From what I understand right now since I have a locked bootloader I can only flash stock ROMs so if that is correct than can I just flash an older stock ROM, one that will allow me to unlock my bootloader and than flash CM 10.1 on my Xperia J?
And another question- I know that by unlocking the bootloader I will also loose my warranty but from searching the XDA forums I saw that I can make a backup copy of my stock ROM and flash it to relock the bootloader again. Is that accurate ?
Thanks in advance for your help!
First is your bootloader unlockable. Then you can unlock on any firmware via sonys website. I dont think there's a cm10.1 released for j. If you unlock your bootloader you will loose DRM keys forever even if you relock they will still be gone that's how Sony will know your bootloader was unlocked.
It is not unlockable, that is why I wanted to flash another version of a stock ICS.
Won't that allow me to unlock the bootloader ?
From what I understood right now I can only flash stock Roms with the locked bootloader, is it correct or since I have the "NO" status at the bootloader I can't even do any of that ?
I just rooted my 2011 Sony Xperia Ray without unlocking its bootloader (it cannot be unlocked without using a paid method) and installed CWM in order to use custom ROMs. However, looking through the development section, most ROMs do not mention whether they can be used with locked bootloaders.
My question is: How can I know if a custom ROM is able to be used with a locked bootloader?
I looked through other threads and couldn't find the answer to my question. The only information I got was "You can't install ROMs for an unlocked bootloader on a locked bootloader" from this guide.
Hi, I have the tipe (ST21i) but with the locked bootloader, and I saw that in a post commenting that can install the CM10 flashed the boot.img.
I be able to do it on my phone using flashtool?
no first you have to unlock bootloader from sony website!
complete guide is provided here on the forum!
then only you can flash boot.img and cm10 rom.
Thanks, but the bootloader can not be unlocked, there is another method to unlock it?
if ur bootloader unlock allowed status is no, then presently there is no way to unlock as far i know. developers are looking for a solution to that!
Hey guys! I unlocked my bootloader keeping my DRM Keys by using this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292598
Now I'm on ZyxxOS ROM and I would like to return to stock ROM, make root and relock the bootloader.
The problem is that I don't know how I can root the phone after flashing the ftf of the stock ROM, can someone tell me how o provide me a link to a tutorial? I've searched and didn't see any around the forum

Flash an insecure kernel. Its the easiest way to root. But in the OP you said you wanted to re-lock the bootloader, then you cannot boot an insecure kernel.
Please let me know if you will have a locked or unlocked bootloader.

My plan is back too stock, then root and last re-lock the bootloader in that order

Why? You will lose root when you re-lock
Just go back to stock and re-lock then use the massive thread in the general section to root.
Also, that rooting method works on unlocked bootloaders as well. Anything that works on a locked bootloader works on an unlocked bootloader as well.
