[Q] Strange Camera Issue - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there!
I found something quite strange when I use any 3rd Party Camera App (A Better Camera, Google Camera...) with flash turned on:
When I take a picture it is divided into a brighter and a darker half like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Only the stock camera doesn't show this strange behaviour:
First I thought that maybe it had to do with bad timing between flash and shutter so I tried exactly the same with an image situation where the flash is turned on but doesn't illuminate anything:
The same result. When the flash is turned on something happens during the processing of the image.
Can you reproduce this behaviour?
I almost never take pictures with the flash turned on so this is no big deal for me.
Still I am curious.
Device is a rooted OPO 64GB with Stockrom Build KTU84P
Chris

I found this problem too on my 16gb opo. Problem only exist with Google Camera and the one with Whatsapp. Haven't try other camera app yet.
With stock camera it's just fine.

Do you guys have any updates on this? I just noticed the same issue :\

There's no fix for this, other than ensuring that you use the stock camera when you need to take a photo with the flash enabled.

[Q] Static lines on picture when using flash

I have a Verizon GS3 using CyanogenMod 10.1.3. When I take a picture using the flash, it looks like this.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
When I don't use the flash, it looks normal:
I enabled the LED flashlight using CyanogenMod's Torch app, and then took a picture with the camera, and it looked normal. The problem only happens when the flash is triggered by the Camera app.
Does anyone know what would cause it or how to fix it?

Same thing happens occasionally on my Sprint S3 with stock Android. Not every picture taken with flash but here and there. Very annoying. Still looking for a fix. If you found one let me know. Cheers!

CM12s backlight

Hey guys,
So out of nowhere i noticed this line above my notification drawer, it looks permanent. It seems like the backlight is shining through the screen. The phone is not damaged. The interesting things is that it really is a lot less visible on Kitkat, than on Lolipop. Any ideas? Or is it clearl ant RMA?
Thanks!

I doubt this is firmware related, it's a hardware issue. Have you returned to KitKat since updating to Lollipop? My bet is that it'll still be there.

Oneplus support sent me files called "OPO Display patch" after installing them you rollback to firmware 38s. While updating through 44s to 05Q my screen still looked like the one in the first photo. After updating to Lolipop screen becomes like the one in the second picture. I did this 2 times, so it is safe to say that it becomes better on Kitkat, but the line is still there.

I had an friend with an HTC One M7, had the same problem..just that it was a purple glaze, I did a little research, and it seems that it was an heating problem, the heat was not dispensed correctly, and it affected the camera.
At first, I tried to change the ROM[I Didn't know it was an hardware problem], but.. changing the ROM did some good, the phone wasn't heating up so bad, so the camera wasn't so affected, still..he had a little glaze, but before the camera was unusable..so..
Yes, it's an hardware problem, and you cannot do pretty much about that..you'd better take it back, but..be careful, to relock the bootloader, unroot the phone, and put an non-modified firmware

Pixel 2 back camera not working

Hi
I tried installing a port of the pixel 4s camera app onto my pixel 2, and have been having problems with my camera ever since.
The stock camera app does not work at all, it just closes if i try to open it, but i can get the front camera to work in snapchat.
Occasionally the rear camera will pop up in snapchat, but it wont focus.
When i restart my phone and try to open snapchat i get a message saying it cannot connect to the camera, but eventually it will open and my front camera will work again.
I've tried factory reseting, unrooting and flashing the stock images, but its still not working.
I was able to capture some error messages on ADB which ive attatched.

I was planning on replacing the battery and screen (the screen cracked way before any of this happened) but i dont want to spend the $100 if the camera isnt going to work.
I've also thought about trying to replace the camera, but again dont want to spend the extra money if its not going to do anything.
Any advice would be great.
Thanks
Wife's phone having same issue. Factory resets haven't fixed. Phone isn't rooted. What's easiest way to downgrade camera? Current build is 7.2.018.
