TF700 ART runtime on cm11 snapshot m9 - Asus Transformer TF700

I have flashed cm11 snapshot m9 stable release along with Flux cm11 theme on my ASUS TF700 but I don't know why it's slower than the stock 4.2.1.
After 30-40 mins on complete booting, it is fast. Still 30-40 mins is too long. I switched over to ART runtime suggested by rhar****. It took a long time at the first boot, it was faster than it was on dalvik but now the problem is whenever I reboot my tablet, it shows "android is upgrading" everytime.
It only optimizes 3-4 apps on every reboot but still the boot time is long. I just searched a little bit about this and came to know that it does this for pre-compiling of apps but it does this only once. And if it's happening on every reboot, then it's not normal.
Please help me about this.
Thanks.

It happens when it isn't able to successfully modify the app's dalvik data for ART runtime.
That's might cause a problem. And the ART runtime is not fully functional and stable in KitKat. It is recommended as far as you need speed and battery. But some apps may still crash.
One of the solutions is to factory reset, which I don't recommend as it doesn't affect much. It just doesn't have to 'Upgrade' each time.
So, ART is great for performance but is a bit unstable.

Continuous random reboots on CyanogenMOD 4.2.12.2

I'm getting mad trying to debug these random reboots. I'm getting a lot of them while the device is sleeping, without any advice. Sometimes it even halts and gets to a black screen, and I've to remove the battery to restart it, because just pushing the power button won't do anything.
Here's the last_kmsg:
http://pastebin.com/m79ba1a6f
May anybody please help me addressing them? I've already tried all the standard things, like wipe dalvik cache, fix_permissions, wipe and reinstall and so on. Of course I'm ready to provide any additional info, if needed.
Thanks and keep up the great work!
BUG: scheduling while atomic: suspend/7/0xc00b67f9
I think this is the main problem with this crash. Any clue?
try
I suggest trying to remove widgets before then reboot and wipe dalvik cache.. I was having similar problems when I did this it worked fine.. Dont really expect anyone to help you here, they get pissed when people ask simple questions.
Okay, I'm gonna try this. Thank you very much!
im using that rom at the moment, have been using cyan for ages but i can no longer use it, its so damn laggy get blank screens between different apps ,reboots its so unusable
Today I tried a full format and reinstall. Started from scratch, and installed on top of the default 1.5 rom, and it seems to work much better. I still have some rare RR issues during normal app usage, but at least it does not reboots itself randomly without being used.
Trying to clear dalvik cache didn't help, the phone still was unusable, so I decided to format the SD without ext partition.
I'll try it out for some days, if I still will see many reboots I think I'll try out the RA rom, I've read it's much more stable.
Just why exactly didn't you flash 1.6 android first like it's advised?

Sprint Hero Time for data wipe?

I have had a problem occur a couple of times today that has never happened before. I have an extended battery installed(3500mAh). After 2 hours of not using the phone this morning after I pulled it from the charger I noticed the battery was down to 86% when it should have been still at 95% or higher. About an hour after that I went to make a call and the phone would not unlock. In fact it would not respond to any gesture or button push. I had to pull the battery to get it to boot up again. That freezing up has happened twice today. Once with the extended battery and once with the stock battery. Should I wipe the data and start all over again? Or is there another solution?
Have you installed any new programs recently?
No nothing for a couple of weeks now.
Still having a lot of freezes. Should I go to the security settings and tell it to do a factory reset and then start over again with rooting and customizing?
just out of curiosity did you reinstall the location services?
No. The only things I added back in after the last flash were the ringtone trimmer, sound recorder, and the sprint tv.
one thing that I noticed when I had my phone hooked up to ddms looking at the debug log I had a RSS reader app that was add supported and every 30 seconds it would search for and dowload a new add. once I got rid of that app it seemed to help.
another thing that really helped was I downloaded an app called "overclock" it let me set my CPU to 528 when the screen was active really helping with the speed and how fluid the scroll in menu's is, but it also lets you set it to like 128 when the screen is off. seems to really help with battery life as well.
What is throwing me for a loop is that the phone sleeps like it is supposed and I have verified this with spare parts show I am not sure why all of a sudden the battery is draining much faster than before. As far as the lockups, they are just temporary freezes, it locks and I have to remove the battery to get it to reboot.
Well I wiped the data then flashed to the newest sprint rom(1.56) and then rooted again. I then wiped data again and then flashed to fresh 1.1 and installed my apps and setup my home screens. So far no problems and it seems to run a lot faster and smoother.
Quick off-topic question:
When you say "wipe your data" does that mean you rm the /data directory? Or what? Just curious
No. I used Wipe in the recovery screen.
i just did a upgrade on my hero too from fresh 1.0 to 1.1
when you select wipe data from recovery mode, besides wiping data with option 1, do you choose option 2 as well ? wipe dev something. i wasnt sure what the 2nd wipe option is for, so i did the first option only and it only took 2 sec to complete that step. my phone is up and running with fresh 1.1 without any issues, so did i do it rite ? just outta curiosity
The second one is the cache. I think it gets rebuilt anyway on the first boot with fresh installed.

[Q] serious lag issue

Question:
I have had ARHD 3.6 for a few weeks now. I did a complete factory reset before switching to it.. ARHD is a great rom, and thanks and kudos to all the people who have helped bring it to fruition.
But, here's the issue: For at least a week now, my tablet is running terribly. Constantly lagging or 5-10 seconds any time I ever make a move- closing/opening an app, going into settings, even moving from one homescreen window to the next. And typically I'll have to restart it, after freezing completely, 1-2 times a day on average.
Also, nearly every web browser is constantly lagging, or even freezing or force closing, with chrome being almost unuseable. Almost every single time I open up gmail app, it will work for 10-15 seconds before the tablet just straight up freezes and I have to restart it.
I was using the stock ARHD kernel at first, but I switched over to Harmony kernel a few days ago... no improvement.
Are there any suggestions for how to improve this, or any suggestions for a different rom to switch to?
I have a lot of free space on my tablet, I don't have many apps running in the background, and i've already tried wiping the cache in CW Recovery. This is seriously driving me crazy.
Thanks much for the help! And thanks to those who work on all of these roms.

I have had similar issues with my Transformer in the past. Then, I discovered the hard way (after deleting everything... I mean everything) that going back to stock, rooting again, and then flashing Team EOS that my Transformer became better than new. You may not want to go back to stock again, which is ok, so I would recommend the usual wipes and then flash Team EOS ROM and the Kat Kernel. I have found that Apex, Nova, or even Next Launcher to make a difference as well.
just a question about your latency: do you have it with power cable connected only or every times ?

I agree with the suggestion for Team EOS 4, I feel like my tab performs better than when I bought it two years ago.

[Q] ? Any harm in running ART instead of Davlik

I entered developer mode and updated to the art libraries and runtime the only issue was I could not get over air updates had to go back to davlik. Any advantages of ART vs. Davlik. Everything was running fine on S 5. Thank-you
Some people think it's smoother with better battery but I haven't noticed much of a difference.

Noticed something's freezing and system update won't work. Been on ART since release
do you then just go back to davlik for upgrades then re-do art after update? Does it cause any issues going back and forth? I ran it for a few days and all seemed ok except for updates. Not sure if I should go back to art or wait.
I switched. Sprint Connection Optimizer was constantly crashing...eventually Lux would crash and kept the screen from coming back on. I reverted back, all issues gone.
Phone did feel snappier tho.
What I switched to ART my screen would not stay asleep. It would time out, go dark and 5 seconds later come on again. Switched back and the problem stopped.
Should remember that ART is still very much in beta. There's a reason it's buried in the developer options.
There are a LOT of apps that just don't work properly with it. They're made for JIT not to be precompiled. I tried it out, and sure some things were better. I noticed faster launch times especially on the larger apps I launched. Once in there was little to no difference in speed or smoothness. Honestly things were hurt because of apps crashing in the background. Once apps are updated for it, I think I'll be switching over to it. But for now I'm going to hang with Dalvik.

Oneplus Random Rebooting With Optimizing Apps Every Time

Hi,
i have oneplus device.
in the last few weeks, about once a day my phone is stuck (black screen, can't do nothing) (the Bluetooth for example is still connect, and the notification light blinking).
This enforce me to make reboot by long press on power button.
after this reboot i get the optimizing apps screen, which take about 20-30 minutes because i have a lot of apps (about 200).
this means once a day in a random time i don't have my phone for 30 minutes.
during driving so i don't have my gps and during important calls .
I really don't know what to do about it.
some more relevant info:
i had slimkat rom before (build 9.0) - the phone did random reboots but without the optimizing problems. (Those reboots which make me miss my alarm in the morning was the reason i moved to CM)
i did full wipe and install cm12.1 nightly from May 12 (made apps+data backup with Titanium and restore with Titanium).
i did dirty flash to nightly May 18 and again to May 26.
Im totally loss with this issue, i can't going on with this dead time every day, but i have no idea.
i feel like the stuck/reboot issue is maybe an specific app which make the phone crash,
and the optimizing issue on reboots is CM issue.
but i really don't have any idea about what to do.
is there some logs i can look at?
Thx a lot.
Gilad
