I use google hangout a lot. But only SMS shows up on lock screen, not hangout. Any mods to make that possible?? Preferably not a replacement lock screen unless its as nice as the original. Thanks

Personally I haven't tinkered around with the lockscreen, but is it not possible to add shortcuts in CM11s?
I'm not looking for shortcuts. I want to be able to preview the hangout messages in the lock screen as of they were sms

I was using Contact Owner to display my contact information on the lockscreen. Unfortunately, it won't work with the Sense UI. Anyone know of a way to add text to the lock screen with the Sense UI? OR a way to just add a text box to the home screen? (Widget)

Hmmm... you may be able to use FlyScreen which is a lock screen replacement that supports widgets on the lock screen. IMHO it's a little awkward to use at the moment but I'm sure it will get better.
Assuming you can find a widget to list these things you could put that on the FlyScreen.

those show the unread count on the app icon, not on the lock screen.
i was thinking of something more like what desire roms have as they show some notifications on lockscreen

try widget locker, its your best bet
but its a paid app tho

i know there are many messaging apps and i use go pro but switched to stock the other day to send a video. After going back to it i like the look of it if i could change a few things. is there anyway to edit the stock app? i.e on the main screen that would display all texts if i could remove the contact head icon and just have name and message that would be cool and if on that same main screen, make the text smaller.
Is there any good lock screen launcher. I am looking for something that displays text message, emails etc sorta like the ios7.

Try NiLS Notification, and you can also layer on NiLS+ (you will need to join the developers Google+ group to get NiLS+ at the moment).
I found that NiLS is the closest thing to offer what iOS does out of a variety of lock screen widgets I have tried that offer that kind of functionality.
Also check out WidgetLocker. Its a little buggy with KitKat at the moment, but I'd expect an update to be coming.
You can add gmail, weather, etc widgets to the stock lockscreen. swipe from left to right.
