Text messaging issue - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I'm not sure if this is the correct place for this topic, but it seemed most logical to put it here.
I am using 8sms as my text messaging client on my Nexus 5. Recently, the red triangle with the exclamation point popped up on one of the threads, like so.

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I know this means that a text message was not sent, but when I open up that particular thread, the triangle is not next to any message, and I believe I am having issues sending messages to this person. Hopefully someone can help me solve this issue.

log into your carrier website and look at your account online ... and you'll see exactly how many you've sent and who you've sent them to.
you may have to upgrade your account! haha
Look at how many text messages I go through every month (bottom left)

I get this text a few times a month. Anyone know what it is?

Hopefully I put this in the right spot. As its a question and I'm looking for a answer.
Thanks

utadmna them
if all your messages came with those symbols maybe it's a problem in the System Fonts, try to use another APP to receive/read messages try go sms pro its free and you can change the front for whatever you want.
They don't, the few who have my number send them fine, and mine are fine. I just get that randomly and there's no sender on it.

[Q] Adding event to calendar from text message app

Hi all
Apologies if this has been addressed elsewhere. I've looked and can't find a solution.
I'm using Textra as my text messaging app on my Nexus 5.
On my old iPhone, it would auto detect dates and times in the body of a text message or email so that when you pressed the date, it would allow you to easily add an event to the calendar for the corresponding date.
Is there a way to do this on the Nexus 5? I don't mind changing my text messaging app if necessary.
Thank you for any assistance.
8sms has the option

Text message glitch on QGL

Ever since I udated my Sprint Samsung Galaxy s8 firmware to 950USQU1AQGL I've been getting a prompt every time I open messages up. It ask me to start up "New messaging features" by sending me a text for confirmation yet it never actually sends me a text. It's just annoying because it prompts me every time I open it to text someone

App Bug Error while marking forums or sub-boards read

On the forum tab, the XDA app offers to mark whole forums (under "Your devices") and sub-boards (under "Watched") read by swiping the forum/board title right and then tapping "Mark read":
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
But when I try to do this, I am presented an error message on the lower screen edge:
I ran into this behavior since day 1 of the new XDA app and on several devices. So it is safe to assume that it is either broken for everyone or at least user specific.
