Hi --
I am using xperia neo v MT11i running Ultrakat V2.1.1, Since the Xperia neo v already has the back, home, and menu button in the device itself, how do I disable these buttons shown in this rom in the display aread. ?
Want to disable the onscreen back, home and open apps buttons
The reason I am asking these buttons to be disabled is when I open messaging, the home touch is just below the space bar in the keyboard. The home button is getting hit whenever I try to hit the space bar.

Ok, i love the HTC IME mod keyboard...but i really hate how small the space bar is. I am always hitting the period button. I use the the option to swap the smiley/12# button, which places the 12# button on the left side of the keyboard.
my question is...is it possible to modify the keyboard .apk to delete the smiley key on the right side, push the period key to the right where the original smiley/12# button is, and stretch out the space bar? I know it wouldn't be easy, and would probably require creating new key images, but would this be an easy task for an app dev?? Is it possible for me to do it under instruction?
Thanks!
If you have a rooted phone, this can be done.
In the market place, you can download Smart Keyboard Pro for $2, and it allows you to customize the keyboard with other skins, and even removing the smiley face gestures.
If you download it, MENU > LANGUAGE & KEYBOARD > SMART KEYBOARD PRO Settings > GENERAL SETTINGS > SMILEY KEY.
You can enable and disable it, etc.
Hi, i've recently rooted my new Nexus 5, and flashed this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588152
Because i'm coming from SGS2, I thought it would be nice if I could
set an action for long pressing the Homebutton (I want to make it open
the recent tasks screen) but I couldn't find it in the Navigation Bar settings.
I prefer having back, Home and menu instead of recent tasks, and would like
to make it so that press&hold on the home button would open recent tasks screen.
Hope I made myself clear
Thanks!
Anyone has an Idea?
Have you tried gravitybox?

Hi,
I have a question. Im using Xperia M (4.1.2) but I think this is relevant to all the devices with onscreen buttons.
Is there any way (I have root) to show navigation buttons bar (home button especially) on the stock Xperia lockscreen?
Normally its hidden like this:
http://cdn-static.cnet.co.uk/i/product_media/40002780/image7/440x330-xperia-z-lockscreen.jpg
I want to show them so I can use the "home button swipe-up to search gesture" on lockscreen. It would be cool if it is transparent.
Is there any way to do that?
Thanks for any reply, albert107.
Could you tell me a few ways to switch off the screen without using the power button?
(Only Off)
1)
On some Roms (CM11) double tap the status bar - but the bar is quite small, so I am often not hitting.
2)
Power Button Widget - creates a button.
Problem is: My homescreen is full. I can create an invisible button above another widget, but this is not always working (Holo Launcher HD)
3)
Gesture with the activity of Power Button WIdget.
Holo Launcher force closes on my Nexus 4.
Are there other ways?

There are Xposed modules that use the double-tap status bar function.
There are apps available that use the proximity sensor to do the same sort of thing by waving over it and/or tapping it.

xposed module gravity box can do it, and also the app gmd gestures

Hello Everyone,
I don't know if I am missing something, but since the button on the Blu Pure XL do not light up... I wanted to add the bottom navigation bar with the back home and switch button but I can't!
I have installed Google Now Launcher... Nothing.
I have Nova Premium... Nothing.
Any suggestions?
Thank You
My buttons never light up even if I use another launcher .. if I hold the phone a certain way in the light - i can see them. But I have a general idea where they are so I just press the general area. Most times I hit it .. sometimes it takes a couple of taps.

I am aware that the buttons do not light up... i am trying to add the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen (on screen, software), so I would not have to worry about the hardware buttons.

I have just done this so it is confirmed working. First off you need to be rooted and have busybox installed. And if you are rooted you have twrp installed so I would recommend doing a backup. Anyway download a app called soft buttons from the play store. Open the app, open menu go down to capacitive keys menu open that and click on disable capacitive keys. Once all the permissions stuff stops popping up on the screen open menu and click on virtual keys menu then click on enable virtual keys. Wait till all the permissions stop popping up on the screen then reboot your phone. Once your rebooted you will have virtual menu buttons and your regular capacitive keys will be disabled so you don't hit them on accident.
There are also options to reverse the process a far as re enabling capacitive keys and disabling virtual keys as I have decided to do because I'd rather have the 1/4 inch or whatever of screen that it takes up.
