Yeap but I need the fm radio I have the radiofm apk from D855 but not woks

Does the international model not have a built in antenna for the radio? Unless I'm mistaken you would need that for the radio to work.

I don't think your or my model even have functioning fm radio hardware

Not trying to be a smart ass at all by asking this question but I've only had my g3 for two weeks so I haven't been in this forum for very long. Are there any devs for the att variant? The development section for this phone is empty so that's why I'm asking.

This board is pretty much comprised of devs who are actually doing things behind the scenes and doless people whining because the devs aren't being fast enough. So, no, there currently isn't development. But be patient and there should be sometime soon.

If you check I out the bounty thread you'll see some activity from the devs that are working towards unlocking the bootloader. That's the first step towards custom roms and flashing recoveries etc. Once that's accomplished we should hopefully see a lot more activity.
No matter what, I can never stay away from android for long.

Chances are it will never work. The sprint model has a working radio, go get one of those or get the international model but att won't have an fm radio

Lollipop roms

I read a few article stating the LG g3 will be releasing lollipop before the year is over... It also stated that it would be the LG version of lollipop and then att will have to test and change it to their version and that can take a few months... So my question is if we will be able to flash the universal version before att get their hands on it or will we have to wait till att modifies it for the D850

Short answer, no one knows. We don't even have aosp Roms yet so to think about even speculate on a time frame for an unreleased android version is stupid. We'll get it at some point. Just be happy we've finally got roms

I guess u must have not fully understood the question... I was not asking for a time frame or when will we have lollipop... The question was if it is possible to take the LG update that they send to unlocked carrier phones and modify it for our att phone... Or will we have to wait for an att update and modify that... Different question

Short answer: an int'l version will be ported before you see an official ATT release.

Will rooting with stump make it impossible to accept an ota upgrade when lollipop is released? I remember with my galaxy nexus, it was changing the bootloader that did that.
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
Rumor has it that it will be harder to get around the bootloader situation with L. My suggestion is to NOT take the ota and just flash what ever L Rom is ported if you want to keep root. At least until the devs figure out the new features on android L.
Plus, being on AT&T, we wouldn't see an ota until well after everyone else Lmao.

Cm12!!!
I have loaded CM12 on my "burner" G3 a few times (updating every night.) It is quite flaky, but it is good to see progress being made. RIght now the issue with CM12 is that one of the cores gets stuck at 100% (some say due to an NFC issue) and sucks your battery dry.

US last country to get updates

I was just wondering why does it seem that the US is always the last country to get the major updates... It seems like damn near everyone and their kids have smartphones here so I thought this would be the biggest if not than one of the biggest market... Just a question as I wait lol

Cloudy G3 supports all variants, also some people have had no problems flashing other roms, just flash a D850 kernel, i came from CM11 to miui, but its didnt have the right kernel, all it did was just black screen, i could go into recovery no problem, im probably going to download the D855 lollipop and D850 kernel today

[WIP][DEVS] CyanogenMod for LG G5

Hi all,
I started working on the LG G5 a way back .. and now that we've got the device in stores I guess it's time to work all together to bring it up !
STATUS
- [02/04/2016] All the US Carriers/Sellers locked the bootloaders so NO TWRP possible and consequently NO CM possible
CURRENT GOALS
- Thought, all the Europe variants will be for sure unlocked so we need to prepare the sources for it
- Here is where all the sources are pushed https://github.com/G5Devs
ETA :
- The tree is made
- The vendor is made
- The kernel is made
TODO :
- Clarifying kernel sources
- Add the ramdisk to the device
- Split the g5 to g5-common and all the under variants
This thread is not a thread to release builds, it's about contributing all together into this bringup in order to get the nicest thing out of it when the bootloaders will become unlockable.
I hope we'll can work all together !

It does unlock, but the DM-VERIFY is still presenting a no-go.
Evidently LG is using a custom type of bootloader.

only for that specific device(s) on HTC
HTC has a portal that allows you to unlock bootloader for that specific device (hence the need to copy+paste token to HTC's portal and get the unlock key)
no doubt HTC will void warranty immediately in their system when you input token
LG doesn't have this (yet? i hope)
Yeah, was just a thought. Haven't owned a LG in some time, been on the Samsung wagon. The G5 is on my watch list of devices I might get, I like the design. I'll try to see if I can find something that might be more constructive to the cause. The HTC link was the first thing I could think of that I've dealt with.
I see that LG has release a tool for the G4 and that's device specific and seems to work on the European devices.
Totally willing to contribute monetarily if this will help any developers out. I don't have much else but really want to help get this phone broken open and fixed up good!

Maybe when everything will be finished to improve module compatibility.
PS : NEWS : I'm mostly done making the variant specific trees and kernel. But I want the kernel to be clean.. So it's slow..
Any status updates? I'm following this stuff like a hawk haha
Been reading around trying to gather information
How do you test to see if your handset has the DM verify second bootloader lock?
I am hoping to get my UK unbranded unlocked retail H850 unit on Friday, so am happy to test any restrictons, but don't know how to check for this?
If I buy a g5 from best buy would it still have the locked bootloader?

Root yet

Is there any progress on unlocking bootloader and/or rooting the verizon lg g5
I haven't heard much on progress for root in all honesty. However, if we can all download the KingRoot app and "try to root it" those devs will see it as requests for the phone to be rooted. And we are already at 172 at the moment so if we get more people to request this those devs will put more focus into it.
Sent from my VS987 using XDA-Developers mobile app
I doubt it. The LG G4 isn't even rooted yet (well those who have upgraded to MM) but you can downgrade to Lollipop which i haven't had luck in doing. Other Companies like ATT, Etc. have had great success in rooting their G5 but Verizon likes their Boot-loader Locked!
It seems the KingRoot group may start to work on helping us get root but the only thing is that the easy way to request is downloading the app and click "root" cause it'll fail but it sends a request ticket and I'm sure if we get more it'll get root a lot sooner.

Oh cool that's awesome. I don't know how many they need but we have gotten a lot but I assume we still need more. To be honest I'm no fan of waiting for our phone to go up on the bounty list and wait even longer but it's either the bounty waiting line or its KingRoot. But in order for KingRoot to work we just need people to download the app and send in their request.
https://kingroot.net/wap
There's a link for the official website. For anybody who finds the fake ones and doesn't trust it.

355 requests now.

Hey guys sorry for you not getting an answer, there are options for root and recoveries, but you do need to convert the device to developer version first. The process isn't too hard and can be found here for marshmallow devices and here for lollipop devices. Hit the thanks button on those threads if those developers helped and if you need help with carrying out the unlock of the bootloader so you can root, then you can hit me up
