A quick thank you to devs - General Topics

I just wanted to say thank you to all the developers out there that spend years of their lives working on certain projects , and then go releasing those projects as freeware, purely for the enjoyment of seeing others use it and expect nothing else. You guys are great and make the world better in your own way. Thank you for everything!

Just wanna say, Thank you.

Just wanted to take a moment and say thank you, not only to the amazing devs that have helped me out thus far, but also to the flashers, testers, and the rest of the infuse community. As a beginner dev i had no clue what i was getting into but through all the help of the senior devs i have come along way, so far the rom i released has gotten high praises and that means a lot to me. I started development on my rom to learn, progress and share. And so far its going exactly that way. You guys and your support is what keeps me going and wanting to learn/do more. Keep up all the good work, and keep up the amazing support guys. Thank you to everyone. Have a great night/day!

As a former infuse owner and hopeful future developer I say thanks to you and all devs I ended up getting a diff phone because I have Tmobile and infuse cant get 4g on this network but good to know the senior devs will help along been browsing xda for a couple years but just registered because too many people are ungrateful but as soon as I can get another computer ill get on developing

Yes, I appriciate you all for your hard work.
I want to thank all the devs too, that have contributed to fantastic work to make my Infuse 4G run smoother and fast. Most devs have taken out all bloatware and installed great apps to make my phone run at it's best performance. 1000 thanks, "I am so very grateful".

Donating to the beer funds is absolutely the best way to show thanks haha
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda premium
The beer fund is probably the reason why there are little bug in the roms....one hangover, you putting the wrong file in the wrong folder and BOOM........Bluetooth is not working!!!
I'm just kidding we know most of you work better when you are drunk
Donate guys donate it's very important
A drunk guy is a happy guy

[Monthly Holiday] Developer's Day

Welcome, community, to the XDA Developer's Day thread. We receive endless support from the developers. They deal with our bug submissions, questions, comments, complaints, and whining on a daily basis. What can we possibly do to give back?!
________________
When:
The first of every month.
What Can I Do?
Consider Rom, Application, Kernel, Theme, Tweak, and other developers in your decision:
Pick a developer who has influenced your life in some way this month and donate a few dollars! And come next month, pick another developer. A rotation, of sorts. Every donation counts, and is cherished.
Update your signature to reflect your support for developers and for the mass recognition of the holiday!
Credit to DHO for the original thread idea.
I REALLY don't think this will be necessary...
But just in case: Snagging post #2 as well.
Oh, and this has taken off fairly well on Rootzwiki.
I hope it does here as well.
This is a really awesome idea
+1
+1 as well this is a pretty cool idea. Developers really deserve supportfrom the community. One of let's them know that what they are doing is not in vain. Two some monitary support is always a good incentive to keep good hard core developers at the top of their game, which is the long run is good for everyone. Now I know a lot of of developers do it just because it is their personal hobby and the enjoy it. But some cummunity support and graditude never hurts.
Done, great idea.
Edit: And to the jerk who rated this thread with 1 star, you know who you are and you should be ashamed. Truly ashamed...
done
done deal .as stated before great idea.

SGS3 VZW Devs.

I just want to say thank you. I seriously had second thoughts on this phone, but not for the same reason as all of the spastic idiots crying of the locked bootloader. It was because of those people period that made me want to get rid of this. The phone isn't even out yet and way too many people have underestimated your ability, whether you chose to make this much progress as a f u to Verizon or all the babies that fled to another phone because they thought you couldnt do anything, it really doesnt matter. For all those that helped and will be continuing to help. Thank you. Thank you. I don't care if anymore progress is made even. The fact that you do what you do for free (as most people seem to forget) deserve thanks as well. Great job!

The thank you actually goes to all devs for any device as well. You all are amazing. If it wasn't for you. I'd be stock

I agree thanks to all the devs including Verizon for development. The phone doesn't launch till Thurs on Verizon and I still am shocked how much was accomplished in one weekend!
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using xda app-developers app
I want to add my thanks as well. I understand that you put your valuable time into this work to open the phones to us and allow us to enjoy them in a way that the carriers would never allow if left to their own devices. I have donated to the developers of my favorite roms and kernels and I will continue to do so in the future.
Thank you.

I agree. Thank for the support Design is spent some time in IRC last night and was happy to see the progress

In addition to thanking all the devs for their work, I also want to thank Samsung for seemingly intentionally not locking it down as well as they could have. It's hard to believe that they intentionally require boot.img and recovery.img to be signed to flash in Odin, but not system.img.
Agreed, there are a lot of thanks in order here. The dev community turned my Droid1 from a funky new smartphone (my very first) into a powerhouse that rocked for years and years. The fact that that very same community of developers, testers, and fans is still here, now, on these new devices is incredibly uplifting and makes me feel glad to own an Android.
Here, Here, a Hardy thanks to all for your hard work and time.
Absolutely shout out a huge thanks. I'm going to have to set aside some cash for donations for all this hard work you guys are putting in on this device. Being new to Samsung, I am very excited to see this community headed in the direction it is now.
Awesome work guys!
Bump just to say thanks again

I definitely agree with everything you said. This is an amazing phone without rooting and unlocked bootloader, but that's just icing on the cake. Made this phone that much more better.

^^^+1000 all of the above.
If it weren't for all of the hard work and dedication you guys put into these projects, without expected compensation, many of us wouldn't have the foundation for one of the greatest hobbies ever. It is your efforts that have given XDA a reputation for the most innovative and badass communities on the web, and it is my hope to learn development to be able to contribute to the success of these devices and AOSP, even if only to give back for what I have learned here. You guys rule and thank you

Just a thank you!

I am new to the XDA group obviously by this being my first post! But I have had my G2x for going on 2 years, and just recently decided to root and load a custom ROM on it. I love it! It's like having a new phone! I am a noob in some since, but pretty a nerd as well. I just wanted to thank all the developers and such that provide all this vast information, knowledge and code to give us awesome instructions, roms, etc! Thank you all for your hard work and dedication! I wish I was as knowledgeable in coding to contribute!
should have some sort of "date a dev" thread, jeez you want a dollar for all that ridin'
nah jp, nice to have u participating in the discussion of the phone that packs so much love and hate into the shiniest turd you've ever bought from LG, thusfar.

Developer Appreciation

This thread is intended to be a one stop for developer appreciation. Please tag a developer, and express your gratitude. If it weren't for guys like @InkSlinger420, @ktempleton and @Somcom3X (just to name a few) these devices would have been left in the dust, but instead they have carried them into the future and deserve our endless gratitude.

I don't know if I really belong among the shout-out recipients, but the spirit behind this is a great thing to see
I would also like to thank all those already listed, as well as @merwin for his kernel work in the pre-JB days. The shoulders of giants and all that

Thanks!
My claim to fame... First custom stock kernel for the blaze 4g. Heh.
I still have my blaze (in addition to a Nokia Lumia windows phone). And I'm still really the only custom stock based kernel dev for this phone. Too bad I left the kernel in a high battery draining state. I've been meaning to get back to that so I can give it to my kids as a game phone.
Maybe I'll make a short comeback.
I'm stuck with stock based myself because the phone is our home phone (for babysitters to use for emergency). I live in an area where only Verizon and Sprint get coverage, and I rely on WiFi Calling, which I don't think has been figured out for AOSP.
I'd like to throw shout's out to
@car vs driver @Unjustified Dev
who have not been mentioned yet...
+ Everyone who has already been mentioned...
Since I'm still relatively new to this I would like to thank you all for adding to this list developers from earlier days and developers I've yet the pleasure to try their work.

MWAH! :victory:
I just really want to thank everyone who contributed even the slightest bit to our little phone/forum! I would have thrown this phone away after samsung stopped updating the phone after 4.0.4. THANK YOU!
What can I say? THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
Thanks to everybody that makes possible this dream: give to our SGH-T769 a new life, a new future, a better phone than was yesterday, more than great Roms and Kernels.
Thank you for everything, DEVELOPERS.
Greetings since Colombia
