[Q] Deactivated APK > Phone not Booting - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I made a silly mistake. Using App Quarantine i deactivated a system app.
Now my Phone is stuck at the Motorola Logo.
Any idea how i can activate deactivated APKs at this point?
I would like to avoid a Stock reflash if possible else i will loose Data.

As far as I know isn't possible to push a file inside the system partition of the phone, unless you use ADB, but to use ADB you need to have the usb debugging enabled... try this, hope it helps.

Factory reset/whipe questions

I had to reset my phone because it was making random phone calls and now has spammed all my Gmail contacts. I have like 3 apps. They are automatically restored. Should I remove all apps? Also, is there anyway to scan my phone and confirm malware removed?
just flash a clean ROM into the phone with fastboot, or nandroid, or odin
You could do the factory oem lock and unlock to clean the system. This will fully erase the system and sdcard.
not if it's a hacked ROM with Warez build in

could you answer my pm-s please?
Seems like he's not running any custom roms.
Just resetting/wipe from the privacy menu in settings.
When your phone boots back up, SKIP the gmail login. That will prevent market apps to auto reinstall.
Now when it's some booting, go to menu/settings/accounts and add your Gmail.
You can install Lookout Mobile from the market, it is a very good malware scanning app. Anytime you download and install an app it will scan it and tell u if it's ok or not.

Can you advice how to do this, I have the app superuser install through the root process, it will not go away, even through the settings and hold volume and power button, second menu won't do the job, and I cannot find a full stock rom using build gri40 to flash my ns, I would very grateful if anyone can direct me to a how to flash guide using a root ns through fastboot, and full stock rom.
Thanks in advance, and sorry for the thread hijacking.

Thank's a ton. I appreciate it.
I use antivirus free, but most anti virus, or security app will do the job.
If your phone is making random calls, try updating to the latest gingerbread.
Also I read on other android forums regarding other phones where someone had similar issues with their phones randomly dialing. It turns out to be a bluetooth headset issue for them. My mom's Nexus S had the same issue too. I got her a new headset and she hasn't complained about it since. I've also updated her phone to 2.3.3 as well, so may want to try those 2 options.

Unable to update (permission issue)

Whatever i did to enable/unblocking this app, its keep showing that app is block/hidden so the update will failed.
Using adb method pointing out that permission denial..looks like that app comes from different package..
Using root image to unblock by debloater than flash stock image, when plugin usb those apps still shown as block..
GCUV.apk and SetupWizard.apk..
I guess this is the reason why some of us are failing in updates their fw..
Did you ever get this figured out?

You have to flash back the old image fw and try debloating tools from there...then double check if its still exist or not...
Mine somehow works with repeat every step that i make within old fw and also need root.
the problem is its unfreeze but not unblock.

Thanks, I'll give it a try and cross my fingers.
@dannygoround
So I have made a back up of the LGsetup wizard with titanium back up and it seems to unblock itself using debloater. However, I'm still having trouble unblocking that persistent GCUV file.... i was thinking of using debloater to remove it ( as it creates a back up) then restore it but I have no clue what it would do when I do delete it.
The option I'm trying right now is:
1. download the OTA
2. use debloater to unblock EVERYTHING( dont need to be rooted)
3. quickly accept the OTA
4.hope the restart doesnt activate the GCUV to block again ... T.T this is all wishful thinking because I rather do plan b
(delete GCUV and restore it )
got them to unblock
Successfully got the two apps to unblock
-while rooted use titanium back up and debloatr to unfreeze and back up gcuv
-force stop app using TB, then run it using TB
-reset phone and check with debloater (unblock anything during this time as well. If you unblock anything always follow up with a reboot to make sure it's blocked
-when all apps are unblocked (and stay that way ) proceed to unroot with supers
-restart, check with debloat again.
(an app called phone.acvy or something turned up so I unblocked that)
-factory reset your phone and check with debloatter again (I was paranoid you see...)
If everything is fine go ahead and flash the stock img using the LER replacing stock img with root
-check debloater if anything still persist unblock the he'll out of it and reboot
And that's what I did!!!
Always reboot to see if anything persists and devloater to check
I haven't tried to update yet because well it's 8 am and I'm at a horse show that ends at 6pm soo I'll keep you guys updated

I got another error
the update failed and after booting up and checking with debloater it showed that
"lg set up" has blocked it self again
Kinda stuck from this point on .
I guess I can redo everything, but I really don't know what "GCUV" is why its so persistent, how lgsetup is connected with it.
I am a very noobish person one this xD im kinda just doing everything i can do with trial and error

Any ideas?! because im out of ideas

1. I can only get into phone manager or permission manager when phone is in airplane mode? Strange lol Otherwise it will open for .5 second and close. No toast notification though
2. My memory usage. Normal? Screenshot should be added.

Do you have a phone which is a China varaiant? Because I konw only in China, Wifi is called WLAN due to local regulations...
Since you're rooted I assume you have either a custom ROM, or at the very least, a custom recovery. My personal preference is TWRP.
1. In <insert your custom recovery name here, such as TWRP>, do a full NAND / System backup. (This is a long process but bear with me)
2. Look here on the forums for a "stock" rom in flashable .zip form (NOTE: You will want it to be in .zip as opposed to some sanctioned Huawei/Honor package as that will remove your root). When found , download it and stick it on your MicroSD card somewhere
3. Flash the "stock" rom.
4. Wipe Cache / Davlik / system partitions (Usually this is recommended, but in this case I'd argue it's required)
5. Boot into your stock software
6. Now see if the same exact issue persists. If it does, then you know at least its not hardware or software related and its something in the Honor ROMs. If the issue is gone, then it's "something" in your setup. Once you've at least identified this, you now know what to do next.
7. Boot back into <insert your custom recovery name here, such as TWRP>, and restore the backup you snapped in step 1 (This will bring you back nicely to where you were)
Purpose of this exercise: To determine if your issue exists stock-software in a "factory reset" condition, or if it's something funky with how you setup our phone / software / apps / etc.
I know this is long-winded, but it should clarify a few things for you.

Here is the thing.
Phone, boot looped first time unlocking it. So I downloaded a update zip and extracted the update.app and flashed the stock.img
Then I did the same with the firmware for my model L24 (because it wasn't out there at first)
So it seems something didn't get "wiped" when I flashed the image from the L24?

...That's too complex...maybe you should try to get your phone to flash all the files from a same ROM
So I went back and downloaded the L24C900B110 from the honor.ru site. And still it shows WLAN?
Another thing I noticed. Using Zooper widget, the location is India?? Maybe that firmware isn't for the bln-l24? But I thought that was the US version, not the India version.

One sure way to end the issue is to get her a non smartphone.
App lock would sorta work but not exactly, pretty much anything you do can be bypassed by either factory resetting or by reflashing stock firmware.
You would have to root and install TWRP then pin lock TWRP so she wouldn't be able to unlock it to flash the device or factory reset using recovery, then you'd have to make sure USB debugging is off then password lock her system settings so she couldn't re-enable it, this would prevent her from flashing stock firmware or factory resetting using system settings. Then you'd have to lock playstore so she can't install the apps that are causing problems, or you could install the problem apps and lock them to keep her from using them(although she might still be able to uninstall those apps and reinstall them from the web and they wouldn't be locked).
You can make it difficult for her but blocking her completely would require heavy specific modification to the device, if it's even possible.

How to set up realme 5 pro to restore data from my old phone's google drive data ?

When I set up a new phone, usually I get a prompt to sign into google account and restore apps and data.
But in colour OS, I didn't get that.
However is there any way to manually get that ?
( I lost my previous phone (moto g4 plus) and I am hoping there is someway which will help me restore as much data as possible into this new phone (realme 5 pro) )
Settings>Other accounts>Google>Add>Sync now.
I can do this without issue. I'm from Hungary btw.

Hi.
I can add the google account, but when we set up a new phone that has an experience close to the google's android, we get prompted with an option to restore the data that was backed up on our old phone.
Here I am unable to do that.

Hm. Yes. I remember now. I don't think we can do that on this device. I'm sure though it almost does the same that I described. Although I'd not be looking for that new device setup prompt for in China Google services isn't available. I'd say we're lucky that play store is pre-installed for devices outside China. Sorry but I don't think I can help. I'm still trying to get used to Color OS.
have you try reset to factory setting? because in my case, the first time i boot the phone, there is the option to restore data backed up on google. I dont use that tho, so i can't tell if it work or not.
but there is an option to backup or restore right above reset to factory setting, so maybe that is what you are looking for..

I didn't get that option at all.
It just gives me an option to use realme's app to transfer data.

No.
It only allows to back up from this phone
but doesn't restore the data from a different phone.
