Hi,
I'm trying to add some additional icons to framework-res.apk, not by adding them to the zipped version, but by puttng them in the correct directory and repacking framework-res.apk using aapt. The problem is that after I flash this update the phone boots correctly, but the icons in the status bar display incorrectly. The wrong icons are displayed, for instance the HSDPA icon is displayed as a battery 20% icon. My guess is this problem has to do with services.jar expecting the file to be zip aligned. Is there any solution to this?
Is there any way to change status car icons besides metamorph? Metamorph sometimes convert back to stock icon is there a permanent way?
You should replace the original SystemUI apk in system/app (the location for most device)
if u have a root browser, go to system/app, find SystemUI.apk and view it , in the res folder u can find the status bar icons in the folders inside the res one
Search systemUI.apk from here, the XDA
there should be one that can fit your needs
For some of us the modified systemui.apk isn't working nicely. So I thought to share this amazing thing I found !
Its an Xposed Installer Module !

Make a nandroid backup before trying cause if it causes bootloop, kills your dog, makes you starve to death, or makes it rain 24/7 in your area I wont be responsible for it
ALSO HIT THANKS !

Yes mate it should work on any rom starting from 4.0.. (I have personally tried it on CM10 only but you can try if it works for you or not..) If it doesn't work just delete the Xblast from settings>apps (and also tell me know so that I can mention it incompatible with any specific rom). Module won't give bootloop, its just like an app, installing the framework might so make sure you make a backup. And first try the xposed disabler (its a zip available in the downloads section of the main thread) to disable xposed framework if it is giving bootloop.
You can disable the module too later on if you got bored or something
nice mod can u tell me which module u using on cm10 in the pics u posted

Xblast to make the bar semi transparent, Icon themer along with the DCiconZ Pack and HoloGlass theme. It looks awsome if you change DPI to 140 and use Wallpaper Slideshow live wallpaper Really brings out the ui
I used to be able to extract the PNGs from icon themes because Notification Toggle can't change icons unless its saved on your gallery, but recently they changed locations and I cant find them. I've been using root explorer trying to search for the folder location to extract the PNGs of certain icon packs (like Nox for example) ...anybody know the location of these icon packs?
they dont show up under system/app or data/app\
EDIT: never mind found it under MNT/ASEC/
mods please delete post
Is there a mod or a way to turn the sense 6 status bar fully transparent like AOSP KitKat, unlike its current half transparency. Please do not suggest exposed, I'd rather edit system files.

Status bar (and others....)
If you decompile SystemUI.apk (found in /system/priv-app), look for status_background.9.png in res/xxhdpi and edit the image to make fully transparent. The xxhdpi folder also has the images for all the status bar and quick toggle icons if you should choose to change those as well...
As a note - I did this on my work computer (without actually decompiling the apk) by extracting SystemUI.apk to my dropbox and then simply renaming it to SystemUI.zip and decompressing it with 7-zip. After I made the changes I wanted (signal icons, wifi, nav bar bg, and some others), I re-zipped the contents of SystemUI (not the folder itself as it will make a redundant directory in the zip file and break your SystemUI), I renamed back to SystemUI.apk and placed the new SystemUI.apk in the appropriate directory, making sure permissions are set correct. Then reboot....
This worked for me... it's a bit tedious, but I get bored at work sometimes... lolz.
