Did you try to restore the partitions from the latest fastboot package?

The point of asking was to have the information readily available so that others don't make the same mistake. Or so if others get into the same situation they know how to fix it, if you find a solution and post it also.

[Q] Noob help

Accidently erased these two files by Titanium backup.Did not create a backup either.
Yahoo.contacts 2.3.5
Yahoo.Mail.Authenticator 2.3.5
Now can`t add contacts. Factory reset did not help. Is there a way around to restore these files?
Go to the development section download the fastboot files then Google rsd 5.6 and use that to flash with. It will take you completely back to stock so backup everything first.
You can also, extract the files from the fxz system.img file, and use adb push to put them in /system/app on your phone.

Thought about that method but from the way his post is worded I figured any mention of pushing the files via adb would receive a great big " what's that?how do I?" Figured flashing the fxz was about the most noob proof way.
You got that right mate. I am a bit technically challenged. Have replaced stock app with Gocontacts. Seems to have solved it. Will wait for the official update. Will that solve it?

Agreed, just thought I would throw that out there, and if he wants to ask and learn something, I would be happy to explain, but flashing the fxz is really the safest way.

You most likely will not be eligible for updates, several who have been working hard to unlock the bootloader have found out the hard way that removing stock apps, has made even qa and dev updates not work.

[Q] IMEI of 0 after TWRP restore

I shattered the screen on my Nexus 5 so I ordered a replacement from Google and before switching to the new one, I made a nandroid backup using TWRP.
I put my SIM in the new Nexus, transferred my nandroid backup, and restored it to my new phone.
Now, I cannot connect to AT&T due to my IMEI showing as 0.
I think I have narrowed down the problem to restoring the EFS partition on the new phone when I wasn't supposed to? So far, I have tried restoring the phone to stock (from this guide). I even tried manually changing the IMEI to the correct number (but it doesn't stick, just reverts to 0).
Is there something else that needs to be wiped in the stock restore process that's not covered in that guide? What am I missing? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Is there anything I should have done differently? Just not flash the EFS partition? I normally setup from scratch but I loved how I had my other setup and just wanted to retain that configuration.

Great.... SO there is no way to reset the EFS partition, I'm guessing?
Just goes to show if you don't know what you're doing you should stay well clear!
You're going to have to buy a new one as there's no way Google are going to RMA it

Alright, so I swapped the motherboards of the phones, booted up my new phone, restored from nandroid (avoiding the EFS this time, just in case) and I'm back up - crack free.

Yea. All guides need to make sure to post a warning and a link to the EFS backup thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2514095
First thing I did was make a backup of mine and store it away in a safe place as well as on the phone. I've flashed two friend's N5's with CM as well, and I did the same with their EFS just in case something happens.
One other route you could try is restoring the phone to factory default, relock the bootloader so the mod trip isn't set, and send it back saying it wont connect to cell network, and take your chances RMAing it. However the display swap may be easier. Either way once you swap your display back, do a EFS backup with that link and save the files it makes in a safe place.

Yeah, I found a guide CATing the IMEI to /dev/pttycmd1 - that didn't work. Most are hesitant with sharing info on changing IMEIs, which is understandable. It's just frustrating knowing what the problem is and not being able to fix it.

IMEI Unknown

Hi guys! I've looked all around and tried the fixes that people recommended, which is basically going back to stock.
So this is what happened to my brother's phone:
Was using the phone and all a sudden the phone freezes (He was on Android L) and he rebooted it. After rebooting, the phone went into bootloop. He downloaded some program that supposedly fixes softbrick and bootloop (by flashing stock ROM) Nexus Root Toolkit v1.8.7.
The phone was fixed.. Kinda.. He couldn't get any cell signal. Turns out his baseband and IMEI read unknown. He has the box the phone came in, to we know the physical IMEI number.
Is there a fix for this? I've tried this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/help/lost-imei-please-help-t2529103 but it didn't work.
Any ideas?

[Q] Corrupt Data Partition.

Does anyone out there have any new knowledge about repairing a corrupt data partition? I've received help from several of the Dev's out there but I'm still corrupt and bound to ROM's that don't touch my data partition. Ruu doesn't do the trick or anything else I've tried. It would be nice if I could flash a GPE ROM and some of the other stuff out there. Thanks! It's been a while since I brought this up so I thought I would give it another shot. I found this link interesting. Any thoughts?

If twrp doesn't do it..I have more manual methods that work too.
In twrp, go to wipe, advanced. Select data and hit the repair file system option.
If that doesn't work pm me.

[Q]Signal Problems after restoring baseband / IMEIHELLO

Hello.
I managed to corrupt my efs file when upgrading from one blisspop to another. My GPS wasn't working so erased modemst1 &2 which lost my imei and baseband.
After several hours of trying I managed to downgraded to CM11S 44 and get my IMEI and baseband back.
When ever I change ROM now it seems I don't have a signal, and when I am on 44S I don't get 4G or a reliable signal.
I've tried flashing all the Bacon firmwares to no avail so I'm stuck on KK for now ?

I've got the IMEI and baseband back... Is there additional problems?
Do you think I should lock bootloader and send it back to RMA?

Nope Regretting it now . I'm getting full signal and H+ now though. Might have to keep the phone on KK!

Yeah I'll bet you are. There isn't much point in opening an RMA claim because this wouldn't be covered under warranty, unless you want to pay for whatever repairs need to be done.
I'd give this a try:

Somehow managed to fix it!!!! V lucky and now have LTE back too.... Thank god. For anyone treading this with similar problems in the future. Above everything else try flashing Oxygen OS provided one the 1+1 website. You will first have to restore the IMEI and baseband. But it seems to have worked after I've done that.... Absolutely thrilled! Shame I'm scared to go back to Blisspop now.... What do you think?

I've spent the best part of 16 hours over two days I don't think I'm ready to take the plunge yet! I think I'll wait until I finish my degree now.
I erased modemst1 & 2 when GPS lock wasn't working. Do you think that's what caused me yp lose baseband/IMEI just curious?

Yeah I think it's a pretty safe bet that that's what caused your problems. You essentially erased your EFS.

Surely it must be restored to some degree now if I'm able to access phone and data services?

Hi. Just some clarification. My bacon lost imei and WiFi. I then successfully used this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/imei-wifi-baseband-thread-t3076640) guide to restore imei etc. But now whenni upgrade to lollipop Cyanogen OS 12 I lose network connection. I only have WiFi remaining. Will this ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/onep...rrupt-t2879061
)work for me?

Hello mate, I tried everything. The only thing that worked for me was flashing oxy OS off the one plus one forums. Try that first mate. I flashed 44S and got my signal back.
I've since gone back to blisspop and all is good without an EFS folder.
Quote me again if you need more help.

Happy to help dude. I think this advice should be stickied .... Or a guide should be written with the multiple methods that can be tried with all the relevant files in one place! You should be good to go to any ROM now dude, I've gone to blisspop kept the data and baseband.
