Well I have made 2 new apps for the Xperia E.
What is the Illumination Bar?
It is the LED strip below the H/W Home button.
Didn't Sony provide that?
No they didn't, in fact they denied any manual control over the Illumination BAR in XE, when I asked them.
Why take so much time to release this app?
Because, I simply didn't know how to create an APP. And it wasn't until March 2014 I discovered on how to control the Illumination BAR
1. Illumin-Complete manual control of the Illumination BAR
Seventeen different colors. Some would argue that they are similar but they aren't. App will work correctly only on Sony Xperia E.
2. Notillumin- Illumination Bar lights up to notify for specific events such as,
Blue-When you have a missed call
Turquoise-Unread Msg
White-New whatsapp notification
Peach-When display is unlocked
Purple-when battery levels are between 50% to 90%
Green-Incoming Call[blinks only once, trying to make it blink longer].
Greenify's HibernateNow plugin enclosed.
Popup asking whether to open Apollo Music Player when Headphones are connected
[Power Savings]As soon as Battery level hits 30%, following changes will occur
WiFi - OFF
BT - OFF
Mobile Data - OFF
Brigthness - Minimum
Display Timeout - 15 seconds
CPU- Min Freq-245MHz, Max Freq-1GHz, Governer-ondemand
It has most of the functionality for Xperia E however some features may work on other phones
NOTE-Both apps require ROOT access, and both apps run a Monitoring Service, so when you open them for the first time, be patient.
Enough said time for APKS

I'm on the latest Marshmallow (v6.0.1) for the Xperia Z3 (D6603) and the only thing I don't like about it are the LED notifications. When I get an email, text etc the tiny little led flashes limply about once every 3 seconds so you have to stare at it for a while to see if you have a message. If it flashed on and off once or twice per second you could glance at it and find out; as it is you might as well just press the power button and look (and wake it up).
Additionally, pressing the power button and discovering there's a notification seems to stop the LED flashing (until the next message turns up) even though you've not read the message. IE the notification might just say "1 email" but not display who sent it, the subject etc, but as far as the notification system is concerned you've just waved the LED flashing away.
I've gone through the settings a few times and looked at 1) notifications generally, 2) permissions per app, 3) the apps themselves but there don't seem to be any obvious settings to govern this behaviour. I'm not desperate to root my phone or buy apps which drain the battery etc; i'm just wondering if there's some option somewhere to make the notifications a little more persistent and obvious.
Install Lightflow.
Or Light Manager (Pro) - works flawlessly for me.
Hello folks,
I've just received this latest OTA update for Oppo F3 Plus (India)
OTA Release Date: October 27, 2017
ColorOs Version: v3.0.0i
Latest OTA: 171013
Android Security Patch Level: October 5, 2017
Attaching pictures of update notif & changelog
F3 Plus: Bug n Suggestion
Bugs:
1. swiping on homescreens the transition effect is laggy by most of the time but after yesterday's ota update lag was reduced by 50% but with a 4gb of ram n QC chipset, one could never want to see a bit lag on this powerful device
1.1 i just noticed while using messenger when i minimizes the messenger chat head the transition effect is laggy. (already mentioned similar prob with homescreen transition which now says this device animation effects are at low level even though having sexy adreno graphics)
1.2 Again another poor transition effect lag: applied a theme from store which has huge clock on lockscreen and when i turn on the display the clock effect(zooms forward like a bloom) is laggy all the time. when i press on music on left bottom the appearance of music buttons is laggy and swiping up to unlock transition is laggy too...
2. while trying to lock apps from recent apps menu, entire mob gets freeze. rarely happening but didnt faced it after this latest OTA update
3. using Google's «wallpaper» app and setting wallpaper in "Daily wallpaper" mode shows a corrupted photo icon in In-Call background while calling
4. in camera the Bokeh effect is not croping properly which is bluring some upper hair edges n hands part... need to improve the Algorthm to fix it
5. [major] the notifications sound is unchangeable . so irritating to hear the default sound over n over again where there is no option to change it
6. assume im using whatsapp or any other app and a email received and i navigate to gmail via notification and when i press back the OS totally backs to homescreen but not to previously used app which is whatsapp. fix it!
7. in developer options > running services> at bottom the bar view of RAM shows absolutely 0 usage all the time... ram usage code is not linked to it. this is total rubbish . fix it.
8. in dev options> disabled apps> i disabled YouTube app but it still shows up and opens well and works well. what id that disable option suppose to perform? fix it!
9. when swiping down on home screen promotes to search and it shows MEMOS in search list but where is the memo app to search a memo? oops! i have installed Google's Keep and tried to search a word from home screen search but it couldn't search a memo in the end of the day. fix it!
10. [major] recent apps not clearing by pressing X button in recents by says roughly 300mb cleared but then manually closing apps by swiping up closes apps and frees more ram. fix it!
Suggestions:
[*]quick toggles should have been customizable with drag n drop feature n to add more tiles in list (i miss DND tile)
enabling developer options keeps the status bar warning all the way and i couldn't even get to see a time on status bar... i suggest to add a red flashing light on status bar instead of warning msg to turn off dev options all the timee.
[*]i use monochronic display view in developer options while my eyes start to strain becoz b/w display is more efficient in other way comparing to eye protection inverted colors. add monochromatic view in eye protection category
add percentage to calculator in portrait mode as the bottom part of calculator have one Button of free space
add customizable toggles in notif to align as we wish to...
Battery doesn't show usage graph and screen on time to measure the usage... in hardware section it always shows empty but why not a screen time is shown in hardware section?
[*]there is no MENU (3 dots) system in this OS. if i have to open a menu for any app settings i hardly have to open settings and navigation to call, messages, camera etc.. to change its options but why not holding recents button can open its settings and make it even flexible to user?
in recent apps holding an app could've navigate to "app info"
Add S or XS font view in display >font section to make the more content visible for this big display
move apps to sd card or change of installation storage should be introduced
theme store should be customizable while some themes have beautiful ui and clocks but bad icons and i couldnt customization each of them but to apply one whole theme which is sooo unusable of themes flexibility
enabling notification light to each and every app is like being dragged in a hell... allow the notif light enabled to all the apps by default. some users even think this device has no notif light. isnt this pathetic for both user n color os?
allow googles feed on oppo launcher for pleasent way to view updates
video calling via 4g is not available. whyyyy?
group selfie cam is not as bright as normal front cam
[*]music player: seek bar is tiny as needle. hardly finds it correct to seek it . make the seek bar larger
holding back button can kill a current app is not present in dev options as well as color os customization. bring that feature
I have not expected oppo can fix all these bugs as they suck at updates but im so happy to say that oppo has released one major update for F3 and F3 plus devices which introduced many new features of color os and new ui which is more alike iphone now.
Here is the source to know and download and flash the Nougat Rom into your F3/Plus

I got the oreo update two days ago and I'll be posting any eventual bugs and changes while using it. Thread will be regularly updated.
Changes:
Quick Settings Dropdown fully opens, showing all the quick settings. I believe this has been intentionally implemented since it happens when there are no notifications. With notifications there's one row and you can further pull down for the rest.
Adaptive icons: https://developer.android.com/guide/practices/ui_guidelines/icon_design_adaptive.html
sRGB and advanced Bluetooth audio Codecs in the developer settings.
Picture in picture mode. It's enabled by default and works flawlessly with WhatsApp video call and Google Maps. Haven't tested any other apps. (Only Youtube Red works with this mode the normal YouTube app isn't able at the moment).
Settings rearranged. Looks cleaner and easier to navigate through.
Ui: they changed the colors and the homescreen icons grew bigger but no major changes in the design aspects.
New system navigation options offering now one button nav controls. (Not sure if that was there before)
Some apps/games where added and can be easily unistalled.
Fixes :
FINALLY no more Touchscreen delay and better responsiveness. Touch is even more precise now. Had huge issues with the swipe to del feature of SwiftKey (5 out 10 times it wouldn't work) and games like table tennis work flawlessly. Very happy about this!
FINALLY I can lower the loudspeaker volume to an acceptable level cause the lowest setting on nougat was extremely loud. (the maximum level of the in ear speaker was less loud of the lowest loudspeaker setting)
The battery management has been changed and it gives more options for controlling which apps should run in the background and now it offers auto launch management. Works as it should since on the nougat build, Spotify would always run in the background even when there's no music playing (had to always force stop the app).
Bugs :
Android system keeps showing a notification bar and icon each time an app is running in the background. Although it's not a bug, it's annoying as hell and can be disabled by going in to the app settings and disabling notifications for Android system.
Original Thread : https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t/themes/app-amoled-notification-light-t3943715
So I was annoyed not having an LED notification light on oneplus 6t so I tried to make one of my own.
As OP6T has amoled display whenever a desired notification comes the app brings in a black screen with notification LED looking animation.
Though this is tested on OP6T, it should be working for most Android Oreo and later phones.
To use it:
Install App.
Disable Ambient Display and any battery optimisation for the app.
Give notification access permission.
Select apps you want notifications for, by choosing a color (Only apps you set a color to enables LEDs).
Note: 1. On successfully selecting a color for an app the text in which the App name is written should change to that color
2. Don't enable the LED for the "Phone App" as it will interfere when an incoming call is coming! Will fix this in next build
Thats it.
Note: To turn off the LED and to unlock phone double tap anywhere on the screen.
Also on pressing power button once the LED stops and on pressing it again it will bring you to lock screen.
App now available on Play Store, please rate and share if you liked the app.

Working Video: https://youtu.be/vFKiHS_ZD-k
If the app is not working check whether the Notification Service is running under Developer Option > Running Services, this service is required for the app to work as intended.
If it is not running after various troubleshoot measures, maybe send the logs.

Hi there, fearless Huawei rebels!
You know the problem: No notification LED - and NO really working and/or reliable solution; I tried quite some.
But there's that built-in Alway On Display feature showing time, battery level - and notifications in standby in a real reliable way!
And there's MASSES of different additional AOD choices to download, some for free, some for a fistful of cents.
But NOTHING just showing the notifications, ALWAYS accompanied with some time display.
I would be quite happy if I had an AOD showing the notifications only, I don't wish to see the time of day or date, I don't wish to see my battery level, I don't need music control (that's the job of the player app), I don't need weather forecasts - just the tiny symbols notifying me of new messages, just like the traditional LED. And if there's no notifications, just a plain black screen with no power drain and distraction at all. Life could be that easy.
Thus my quite obvious questions:
1) Is there any AOD contents to download showing just the notifications and nothing else?
2) Does anyone know how to create your own AOD contents? - As there are masses of downloadable styles, there obviously must be a way.
I would like the AOD to:
a) continue to display notifications after unlocking then relocking back to the AOD (like every other non-Huawei android phone)
b) add weather (as per Pixel)
c) add music control (as per Samsung)
d) remove battery %
