How to fix XT1032 Boot loop after factory reset

Hi,
after an apparently failed attempt to install the 5.0 OTA update my XT1032 now will boot to a droid lying on its back.
I went to the recovery from there (by pressing VolUp+Power) and did the "factory reset/wipe data" and rebooted.
Same result.
I did "wipe chache". Same result: Droid lying on its back, saying "Kein Befehl" (I guess that means "no command")
I can get into recovery mode (CWM was installed before all this*) so I could try to flash stuff from outside.
But what should I try to flash? I tried flashing a (supposedly) stock system but as soon as I start with "fastboot flash boot boot.img" the phone starts booting again. So I am not really sure what to do now.
Something is seriously wrong with this phone and I would like to restore it to stock settings. I bought it on amazon.DE - so if any one of you guys knows where I could find a truly original stock image for this phone and what to do with it, please let me know.
PS: Right now I can't even get into recovery anymore. The thing just keeps booting and booting. Can't even turn it off.
* meaning: before I flashed the supposed stock recovery that apparently, in combination with the OTA update, got me into this mess

I used option 3b with a 4.4.4 rom ( RETAIL-DE_4.4.4_KXB21.14-L1.40_36_cid7_CFC_1FF )
I excuted all these commands. However, upon flashing the boot.img the phone immediately boots (and gets stuck).
So I re-entered fastboot again to finish the job. Everything else went fine.
But the problem persists: When booting, the phone now displays the "Warning: Bootloader unlocked" message for a long time, with a kind of water ripple effect from bottom to top, repeating.
When I switch it off, it switches back on automatically, trying to boot and getting stuck at this screen. Sometimes I get to the droid lying on its back with a red !-Triangle on top. Poor little bugger. Soft bricked.
What can I do to fix this?
I can still enter fastboot.
I assume that yet again I grabbed the wrong ROM.

I think you might be on lollipop bootloader as you are having a screen flickering issue & downgrading the boatloader might be dangerous.
I'm don't know whether it will solve your problem but try flashing a lollipop firmware.
I'm not allowed to post links. Google for XT 1032 lollipop firmware. I saw one in groupandroid website.
Download the firmware from the site & execute the given commands.

Thank you. I got that file.
"adb devices" won't find my phone, though.
"Fastboot devices" does. So I can't use "adb push ..." to move the ROM to the phone.
Also, whatever option I chose from the Fastboot Flash Mode, the phone starts to boot. So I can not "enter" Recovery.
Should I just use "fastboot update rom.zip"? I don't wan't to miss my last chance to revive this phone.

ADB commands will not work in with the phone fastboot mode.
Since fastboot commands do work, you can manually flash each partition from the stock ROM. Entering recovery isn't required to do this.

I had similar problems & this method worked for me everytime. Sorry I'm a new user & I cannot post the links.
You can search the forum & find the links.
I found a thread in "xda -> moto g general->[FIRMWARE][XT1032-XT1033] Firmware Lollipop Retail Brasil & Asia 5.0.2" by cristiand391. Download the firmware for your device. It will be in BRASIL_XT1032_5.0.2_LXB22.46-28_cid12_CFC.xml.zip. Extract the contents to the fastboot.exe folder where you use regularly. Run the commands in fastbootmode. Please be careful with the commands.

The problem here is that the phone will boot as soon as I flash the boot.img and the whole thing fails.
Do you see a way out of this situation?
Any way to do this with a .zip ROM?

Have you tried flashing different firmware such as the GPE for your phone?
Does boot.img flash properly? If it does, you could try installing TWRP, boot into TWRP, mount the data partition, and use your computer to copy a custom ROM to the phone fpr flashing.

That might be because you are on lollipop bootloader & you are trying to flash kitkat bootloader?But I may be wrong. Previously you told that you tried restoring to kitkat & that boot.img is kitkat bootloader. Try with this lollipop firmware.

I now did exactly what legolas06 wrote, using "MoeMoe_BRASIL_XT1032_5.0.2_LXB22.46-28_cid12_CFC.xml"
There were "hab check fails" for recovery and boot but at least the device did not reboot upon flashing the boot.img.
I rebooted it and it is going further than ever before, all the Motorola animations were played but in the end the phone got stuck at the circular blue pool (water) with the bit Motorola 'M' plus the concentric water ripple effect.
I switched it off and on again and then it played through the animations, then updated the apps (total number: 9) and then started the system. Apparently it is working.

Happy that I could help.
You flashed the stock firmware so everything should work again. OTA updates if available would work.

I don't know if you can apply OTA updates. Before the OTA update will work, you may need to update all Motorol apps via Play store.
You could wait until a fulkl stock lollipop pop is released for your phone and flash it using fastboot.
You can try different ROMs but stick to the ROMs made for your model. I have an xt1032 and I have installed US Retail, stock Telus, and GPE.

these steps look soo similar that the ones you can find in other blogs/discussions, but for me, in my case the main difference was the firmware, I tried with a loot of them, but the one that is mentioned in this post, installed smoothly, and with no issues, thank you so much, to post your experience and this solution.

[HELP!] Asus Fonepad 7 fe170cg stuck at lollipop

3 days ago I got a lollipop ota update to my fe170cg. Everything is cool except rooting. I want to root this device like a used to do at kitkat.
But I couldn't find any solution to root this device. I also tried VampireFo's tethered CWM recovery but no luck with that it is not even flashing CWM because of the tigth locked asus lollipop bootloader. I also tried to downgrade to kitkat because of the lollipop recovery But I couldn't downgrade. Now I have no more chance to root this device. And no chance to downgrade to kitkat as well. So I decided to ask professionals like you. I really need help!!. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks from now for any response.

Not sure this will help you or not..for me it just doing good. Try use fastboot
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase userdata
Then you need you flash the a stock firmware. UL-K012-WW-11.2.3.33-user
Download the appropriate firmware from Asus website. There are three .img files in the firmware zip file (fastboot.img, boot.img, splashscreen.img).
Copy all these three files to the extracted folder. Now type the following command in the command window one by one:
fastboot flash fastboot fastboot.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash splashscreen splashscreen.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
then you get your droidboot back.
user Temp CWM IntelAndroid-FBRL-05-16-2015-PTR to flash UL-K012-WW-11.2.3.33-user
so that you can downgrade to kitkat

I give up on life (I tried everything to fix the god forsaken phone and loosing hope)

This is a tangent to the issue I had Situated HERE. I am seriously giving up on hope and want help for the love of god. Semester is approaching and I need a functioning mobile
After "fixing" my isssue and being on Lolipop 5.0.2, I realised that my SU binary wasn't present, So I reboot into recovery to realise that CWM isn't present anymore.
Not a big issue, I plug it in and flash TWRP onto it using fasboot commands.
Now i go into recovery and Install Superuser.zip trough TWRP. Then I decide to make a backup of everything. Afterwards I rebooted
The boot logo (The logo in which it normally mentions that Bootloader is unlocked and blablabla) Apears. But then it closes. Apears again but then closes once more. It keep doing than until I boot it into bootloader and close it once arrived there.
If I try to get into TWRP again it closes and continue the cycle.
So I flashed in CWM recovery with the intention to Flash the Stock lolipop ZIP that I done before (which fixed it).
When I boot CWM however, I am presented with a bunch of command lines at the bottom saying
"E: can't mount cache/logs"
and other lines (If you want the exact command lines say so and I will go get them). I didn't flinched to it (sometimes weird **** happens like that and I got used to it) so I go into the install from sdcard. I get this amazing message:
E: cannot mount sdcard
And all gui is not even present. I close the phone and start panicking

In other words I need help. I will be checking this thread all the time looking for any help. I am giving up. faced such a problem in my life. I am scared that I bricked the phone for good.
Here is all I know about said phone:
KITKAT MOTO G 4.4.4 from canada (obtained from WIND mobile) most likely XT1034 (Its a mono sim)
The bootloader is 41.18
I used TWRP 2.8.6.2 for xt1032 (This is probably why everything exploded. I didn't realised it was for xt1032)
And I used CWM touch 6.4.0.7 falcon
MORE INFO WILL BE COMING, But I am extremely stressed right now to the idea that I might killed it.

Update 1. I calmed down. I searched the error message and found out that it could either be an issue with CWM being currupted. I will reflash it and bring details. If it doesn't work I will format cache (Wiping the cache seems to not work)
Formatting the cache seems to fix all the cache error messages. But the mounting of /sdcard still present an obstacle

I did some research and found out that my sdcard might be on logical and not primary and a way to fix it is to use mini partition tool on it. I am hesitant to do this so I will search for other possible issues

Because I can't find it.
try to find a 4.4.4, xt1034 canada stock firmware, Not easy. I've look for around 3 hours without success.
I however found a flashable zip for it, so I need to make recovery work, Because to my knowledge you can't flash an entire zip from adb/fastboot
The site you provided doesn't contain the right firmware. I highly appreciate the help though.

I decided to try and sideload stock rom lolipop. Seems to be working. Will be updating the results.

So it doesn't work but I found that last bit interesting. I feel like things are clearing up even though no ones is helping me (except for ATTACK, thanks but I will need a lot more help than that ) So help is apreciated

Taken from the factory image index thread. It's the full Retail Canadian 5.0.2 firmware for XT1034

If you look at the top of the thread you'll see a link pointing to the beggining of the file, The one who helped me told me to flash this exact file and made my moto to boot loop. Trust me, it's not the right one.

YES, Omg I didn't knew lost posted Firmwares. Prase the mighty lost god. The first one is exactly it.
I don't mind waiting 1 or 2 hours. as long as I got it nicely set up for september 1 I'm a-ok

Update 4
I tried to restore stock firmware. Back to square 1.
Cache issues.... I fixed it
Can't mount /sdcard.... Can't fix it.
The logo is the only thing I see and whenever I try to close it by pressing the power button, it reboots into the logo screen.
The only way I can truly close it is by opening fastboot menu and closing it there.
WHY IS THIS HAPPENING IM LOOSING MY MIND

I wiped and formatted /sdcard with philz touch recovery.
It seems that I can mount the sdcard now but I can't flash any roms because it
"Failed to set up expected mounts for install"
I am seriously in the most depressed mood ever. I worked for 4 years in computer development and I never had this much trouble ever. I ****ing give up everything. If someone ever encounter this issue:
you are ****ed throw the moto g in the garbage its dead nada done.
If someone thinks the contrary tell me how I am supposed to fix this. I will check it in about 12 hours.

I will do anything that someone thinks is going to fix it.

How did you flash stock firmware?
Did you receive any errors while flashing stock firmware?
And you are able to flash a custom recovery (TWRP or similar)?

@thegamerchunk1 - You need to try to relax - you are making things more complicated than necessary.
It's an known issue that making a nandroid backup in certain versions of TWRP will cause all this. You need to start again.
Stop trying random fixes and fastboot flash the firmware image for your phone.

Ok - after you retry flashing, please post those errors. May want to try using mfastboot instead of fastboot as well.
Also you could 'adb push ROM.zip' with a custom recovery, bypassing the sd card altogether, but I think you should get your device to boot first.

Moto G (1st Gen) - XT1033 - Unable to flash recovery/ROM (unlocked bootloader)

Hi All,
I have Moto G 1st Gen (XT1033), India in bootloop.
I have unlocked bootloader successfully. I can access bootloader menu where I am able to run fastboot/mfastboot commands from PC,
1. Flashing customer & stock recovery,
-twrp-3.0.2-0-falcon.img
-recovery-clockwork-6.0.4.7-falcon.img
-recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.7-falcon.img​
Result: Does not give error but on rebooting the phone, stock recovery comes back with dead android with red exclamation mark

Result: Does not give error but on rebooting the phone, there is no change phone is in bootloop only...
2. flashing custom ROM after booting (unable to flash but can boot) with TWRP (twrp-3.0.2-0-falcon.img)
- Android6.0.1_NX_R10.3.3_MotoG2013.zip
- cm-13.0-20160617-NIGHTLY-falcon.zip
- cm-12.1-20151117-SNAPSHOT-YOG7DAO1K9-falcon.zip
phone is detect as MTP when booting with TWRP which allows me to copy custom ROM to phone from PC.
using TWRP, trying to install ROMs as listed above.​
Result: it gets stuck forever in patching "patching system image unconditionally"
Can anyone suggest what could be wrong and how i can fix it?

Hey you can boot into fastboot which means that your phone is not hard bricked thats is a great news.
You can try wiping the partitions in the fastboot if the bootloader is unlocked
Try this in fastboot mode:

Then install the stock rom or flash recovery then install a custom ROM.

Try boot Twrp image and then flash Twrp image to the phone (from inside twrp, obviously). After that, select from menu "reboot to recovery". Phone should start twrp.
Format all partitions (advanced wipe) and install some custom rom and gapps.

As suggested, I did boot from TWRP and flashed TWRP (from inside TWRP). after that, after rebooting to recovery, I see stock recovery only (dead android)...

These are classic symptoms of corrupt (read only) emmc. There are multiple threads on this subject. I do know of one person who managed to flash CM13 via TWRP (perhaps using mfastboot boot twrp.img) and got that ROM to boot and run successfully. I suggest you try other ROMs, including a Stock-based one such as Identity Crisis 6.
One other thing to do is the following wipe via ADB: (ADB will work in TWRP - but you may need to be running linux)

@lost101, I went through many posts and did almost all the different suggestions.
1. flashing anything using TWRP gets stuck in "patching system image unconditionally"
2. I tried wiping entire flash, but gives i/o error

3. can you please point me to Identity Crisis 6 for XT1033? I checked on http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/development/rom-identity-crisis-6-t3324595 it says its for XT1063/64/68...

I tried using idcrisis6_ds_v1.0.zip after booting with TWRP.
this time it gave different error.
symlink: no of symlinks failed = 1
Updater process ended with ERROR: 7

@jignesh_shah. Where did you execute 'dd' commands ? On terminal ? Because I have CWM + terminal.

using adb shell from PC.

Can you please tell me how to execute adb shell. I'm not sure debugging mode is active on multiple mobile.

i dont remember exact steps but i guess nothing tricky - connect your phone with PC using USB and boot using TWRP (allow read/write). open command line, go to path where you have adb binary and supporting DLL files in the folder (I have attached with this message if you dont have) and run command "adb shell".

I don't have TWRP. i have CWM recovery. Do you know how to Execute using CWM recovery

Sorry for the late response.
I did not have luck with CWM so cant say. But getting TWRP should not be issue...

I can't even change my recovery.

to use TWRP, you need not to flash. you can boot using command mfastboot boot twrp.img
However, unable to flash recovery does not seem good sign. It may be due to corrupted flash (I am also facing same issue). Only solution I have come across is to replace motherboard, which is not easy & cheap to get!!!

e: can't mount/cache karbonn sparkle v

I was using cm13 sprout 4 and twrp recovery. Was getting error unfortunately ---- apps stopped again again from different apps.
So simply thought of wiping cache and dalvik from twrp . It gave error e: can't mount /cache. So thought of formattig data but by mistake instead of factory reset, i formatted my android. Now i have no os installed just a twrp and unlocked bootloader with me.
now it gives error also E: can't mount/ system also.
pls help, i have only this night to fix it , tight schedule ahead

Try to flash 4.4.4 (posted here) with SPTools. Then install TWRP and update to 6.0.1.

today i tried these commands in fastboot :
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash cache cache.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
fastboot reboot
all commands finished successfully but strangely their no change in my device.
then i tried flashing cwm recovery
fastboot flash recovery cwm.img
but when i boot in recovery it was twrp only.
so i think the flash command from fastboot is not working.
pls help...

Now i managed to get my friends pc and flashed stock rom using sp flash tool , everything went smoothly without any error but strangely nothing happened in device. It remains same without any os . Is my device completely damaged?? :'(

I used sp flash tool format+download option and flashed stock rom. Now its not even booting or charging anymore. Went to service center they simply said its dead buy a new one...
It is being detected by sp flash tools even now also.
Is their anyone who can help me out here???

Hi.. i am also facing the same problem. Did you solve it?? Or what did you do?

I have to buy a new phone.

I have the same issue of mounting system as well as cache and data partition shows error and does not mount.
I did use below commands which completed successfully but does affect my device:

Got a solution!
This is kind of late but I hope this helps other people who have the same issue and are viewing this thread!
Take the battery out of your phone and connect it to your computer. Use SP flash tools and flash the stock rom, using the option, "Format All + Download"
You may have to press a button or button combination to get SPFT to recognize your phone. My phone's volume rockers don't work so I cant help you with that, it was pure luck for me!
Once you let it flash, let the phone boot. It will take some time, longer than usual but it WILL boot. And the bootloader will be locked, so be prepared to start tinkering from scratch!
