I Was Wondering what exactly is a Kernel code? I have a kyocera hydro elite and I have the kernel code for it. Only thing I know is that its for Android development, So I was thing if I can develop a custom ROM for this Device? Is this possible? And What else would I need

Hello there. Iam newbie here. I had root more than hundred samsung phones but i never pit custom kernel inside each phones that i ever rooted. Can i know what is the true function of custom kernel and can you suggest me a custom kernel for me? Now iam using GT-S7500 with custom rom cyanogenmod 10.1.2. Thanks.

We have kernel sources but we need android sources so i think its difficult to get cm im not sure about it.

No it is impossible for now to get CM.
Because android framwork sources are missing. And the most important one is RIL if someone manages to boot cm it will be of no use.

There is only a custom Recovery. There is not custom ROM.
