You may have to format the new card, hence why it won't work

[Q] Xperia X10 SD Card Damaged

I was using my Xperia X10a and suddenly I got a notification that says SD Card Damaged. It asks me to format it, when I click on it, it says preparing SD card and then brings up the SD Card Damaged notification again. I went out and bought another SD Card but it still gives me the SD Card Damaged notification. So I tried seeing if the SD card works on another phone and it works fine. How can i fix this. My phone is also rooted. My phone is on AT&T.

Xperia X10 SD Card Damaged
I was told that there may be a physical problem with the card receiver.
The trick is to only push the card into the slot a little way using the back of the phone to keep it in place.
I tried that to no avail.
I found out that HTC users, Motorolla users, DroidX, Nexus, and other phones running Android Eclair also give the exact problem especially after rooting; many before.
I bought one of the Samsung Galaxy S phones running Gingerbread and haven't had the problem at all.
I mod'd the X10 to Gingerbread and the problem stopped. Only thing is that my Mod doesn't support high res on the camera. Its a temporary fix I guess.

pictures get errased everytime I reboot!?

I formatted my SD card to Fat32. was having SD card damaged issues a couple weeks ago, but havent since I formatted form PC and then again on phone. The issue I'm having now is everytime i reboot my pictures/files get erased. I can take 10 pictures, reboot...gone. phone boots up and I can take 10 more picts, reboot...GONE!
ANY IDEAS HERE!?????
Do you get the same results with another SD card?
I donhave another micro sd card. is this something that could be ROM related or does this sound like a bad sd card?
Since you have had issues with the card previously, i would lean more to the card being bad.
What ROM are you running?
Bean R2. I ran 3.1 and V5 then V6 and had issues and worse battery life than R2. so I went back to R2.
My guess is it was the SD card. I found my spare 32 class 10 lexar, formatted and haven't had an issue since.

I'm facing this same issue on the galaxy note. Suddenly it started to be a pain every reboot the data is gone although its in the card via file manager .. I don't think its the SD card eithhrr in my case

[Q] Cm10 Stable For Vzw Galaxy Siii - External Sd Card Not Working

(Tried posting this in the S3 Development forum but did not have permission)
I just installed the stable CM10 for my Verizon Wireless Galaxy SIII and am loving it. Only one major problem I have run into: the external microSD card refuses to work! I am using a 64GB Sandisk microSDXC Class-10 UHS-1 card that worked perfectly on the stock Touchwiz ICS 4.0.4.
CM10 says that the SD card is damaged, and suggests I try reformatting it. When I try to reformat it in the phone, it gets stuck on "Unmounting SD card..." and does not successfully format the card. When I insert it in my computer, it works perfectly fine. I have tried reformatting it exFAT on my PC, but still get the same error in the phone.
Is anyone else having this problem or does anyone know of a solution to this? Many thanks.
I don't have a 64gd card for my sgs3, but I have a coworker that has the ATT sgs3. He has a 64gb card and is having the same issue as you. It only works on the stock ROM. He has tried aosp and aokp ROMs and reverted back to stock because he couldn't live without the storage space.

Thanks for the reply. I just tested it with another 64GB microSD card and it had the same problem. However, I inserted an old 2GB microSD card I had lying around and it worked perfectly fine. Any ideas on what the GB limit is for CM10? I wouldn't mind buying a 32gb card if that would work.

[Q] SD Card Erased??

This morning I went to access a movie on SD Card only to find that my 32 GB SD Card had been erased??
It was fine last night before I went to bed.
Only thing I did was reboot the phone before I went to bed. Spotify wouldn't open properly and clearing the cache didn't help so I rebooted the phone and went off to sleep!!
Checked card in my computer and it is indeed erased. I reformatted it and put it back in to phone and I'll monitor for a while.
Anyone else have this happen to them?
---Previous to this the phone kept unmounting my old 32 GB Sandisk Card. The card that got erased last night was a 32GB Transcend

I've used SD cards that die after awhile, sadly it happens too often. It's worth a shot to run it from stock but the rom itself is technically on the internal memory not the external. There are apps out there for recovery for pictures and some files but personally I've never used them or had to really
