[PROBLEM] Wi-Fi HTC One 32 GB Sprint - General Topics

Hi guys, I have an american HTC ONE, branded Sprint, but I live in Italy so I use it here only. I have some problems with the phone's network segment, specifically regarding the wi-fi and the telephone network. The wi-fi does not seek any network. Only if I place the phone on the modem the phone find my wireless connection but however with poor signal power and disconnections. I've already flashed a lot RADIO file compatible with the phone but nothing is changed. Same story regarding the telephone network, because the mobile internet connection is too slow than a normal HTC with the same carrier. I've also flashed a lot of custom ROM (Sprint based) , but nothing is changed. Can you help me please? I'm so desperate because I can't find a solution. Thanks..

[Q] Internet Connection, HOW?

Colleagues
Just recently purchased a goophone4GS (iphone clone) and all good so far but I am unable to get Internet connection on it. The WiFi works fine at home but I cannot get any data through my carrier.
I am with OPTUS Australia, the optus people tell me to switch on 3g but the phone is gsm not 3g if that makes any sense.
I am new to smart phones and just must be missing something, any Idea's?
Thanks
Katohdog
GSM and 3g have no.. relation at all. I'm using a GSM phone and it has 3g reception.

Ok I know my phone has no 3G capabilities, so I will go back to the question how do I get Internet? What settings on the phone do I need to activate?
Thanks
To address the above, GSM is '2G' and '3G' usually refers to WCDMA/HSPA. Most newer phones (except the cheap ones) do both, however this particular model is 2G only (which the OP knows ).
I assume this runs Android?
If it does, the APN settings for Optus are what you're missing. Try going into Settings > Wireless and Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names and hitting the menu button. It will give you the option to make a 'new APN'.
APN settings for Optus can be found here.
Good luck!

[Q] Samsung exhibit 4G (T-mobile) connection problem

I bought a Samsung exhibit II 4G unboxed online.
I´m located in Sweden and my phone just won´t work properly, i have two separate operators (3 & Halebop) with my regular operator ( 3 ) i cant get any signal at all (GSM, 3G, 4G) it won´t even find the operator hen i´m doing a sarch (it finds all other operators)
With my other operator (Halebop) i can only connect to the GSM net. I have spoken with my operators at 3 and they have no explanation and just say that they do have support for my mobilephone but can´t say anything about why it does not work. Everything is looks ok in their computers.
Does anyone have any idea at all why this could be?

[Q] Poor signal strength compared to other devices?

Hi,
I just bought my One S (had a Desire before that) and Im very happy with it, except for the signal and especially the mobile internet. I always had 3+ signal bars in my house, now I have 1 or sometimes none. I use my phone at school to google some stuff but while other devices (Blackberry Bold, S4 mini) can acess the internet I have no connection. Sometimes I have 2 bars and E(DGE) but my browser or Whatsapp wont work.
My friends have always 3G/H and inside the school I never have more than E, but I set my phone to GSM/WCDMA auto.
Sometimes the phone loses the connections even on flat areas like fields.
Is there a way to improve my signal strength? A new Radio ROM?
P.S: My One S has the S4, everything original and no root, S-ON
What software version are you on? And what carrier?
Mine has way better signal than my sisters S3 and it's about equal to my girlfriends Iphone4s, but we're on Telus/Bell network which has HSPA only, no 2g network, so I set it to WCDMA only. I haven't had any problems with reception dropping or data drops at all, but I've heard of some issues with the same phone on the Rogers network which has 2g as well like some of the US carriers.
Software Version: 3.16.401.9
HTC SDK API: 4.63
Baseband: 1.15.50.05.29_10.30.50.08L
Thats all I found under Software...
Im from Germany and I dont know if youre familiar with the carriers here, but I use congstar therefore the D1-network of the german Telekom which is pretty good here. Look like Im on the newest RadioROM, so how to improve my connection?
Looks like I'm on an older radio starts with 1.11 instead of 1.15. Does your network have regular gsm?
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
I can use EDGE when setting my phone to GSM only, but I have not more than 2 bars even outdoors...on WCDMA only I have none or 1 bar outdoor, in buildings: no connection. So yes, I have GSM and WCDMA.
Well I don't know, you could try rooting and flashing a different radio, and some build.prop tweaks that affect the connection, but there is no guarantee that will fix it. Is it still under warranty? Rooting may be risky if you're still under warranty. Could try talking to your carrier and see if they can do anything.

[Completed] whwnever i turn on the 3g the sim signals got disconnected. It works ok on 2g or edge

I am using htc one m8. it supports 3g and 4g. but whenever i turn on 3g the network signals got disconnected. what is the reason and what is the solution. i have to restart my phone and after some time it becomes perfect. plz help me fix this problem. it is currently working on android 4,0 kitkat version.
Well that might have something to do with your carrier or it could be hardware. You can register if you like and ask your question here

[Q] No 4G from O2 on Z3

Hi All
My phone signal and 4G does not work despite changing to a new Sim card as advised by O2. I fear it is a problem with my phone but feel that it is just a change in the setting needed to enable 4G.
Currently, the preferred network type is 4g (preferred) /3g/2g. I had reinstalled O2 network settings as well. When I try to select 4g o2 network, I receive a message that it cannot connect to network, try again later. It defaults to 3g o2 but the signal is lost and I miss out calls and texts.
It is worth noting that there is no problem in my area as my brother is with o2 and he is getting 4g just fine. Plus, I have checked on O2 website and it appears fine.
Any help in the matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Fred
