Sounds like a Xposed mod or Sense 6 mod to me... If you run either go through their options. I don't use either so I can't look for it...

[CUSTOM ROM] "THE BLUE" by ABHI uploaded.....finally

hey everyone.
see the screenshots...
due to demand of my rom and people liking it, i had to upload its files here..
though was not able to make the rom.
hope you like my work..
changes:
1. well everything from a to z in looks changes......
2. REBOOT OPTION IN POWER MENU
finally its done i have added reboot to power menu and its working great..
just trying also to add recovery and download options.. cheers
here is the rom: DOWNLOAD:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5K29G62U
the blue rom is uploaded.....
please follow instructions...
1. these are deodexed apps so use them in deodexed rom only, [though some apps can be used in non deodexed rom also , but try at your own risk..
well the max that can happen is that the phone wont go past samsung logo, but still be flashable]
2.the folder system app contains the files that needs to be transferred to system>app folder using root explorer.
3. the folder system framework contains files that needs to be transferred to system>framework folder using root explorer.
4. data local has the bootanimation of nexus one so transfer it to data>local folder by root explorer.
BUGS:
has one bug as far as i know
1.during making call to someone the phone app shows that it stopped working and prompts you to force close. just dont force close carry on with your call , you wont have any prob..
if it bothers you dont replace the original phone app..(i.e. dont use mine if it bothers you)
rest all is fine.
* i havent really tested the android policy.jar file in system framework folder.
for reboot option . after i just made a change as said by lestat....
so try it.. if it doesnt work, then remove the file and place the android policy.jar original file..
*i am not responsible if you brick your phone
it worked for me very well
the notification bar looks are not like the one in screenshot..
i dont hav ethe phone so cant take screenshot now...
reserved ...
very nice rom/theme it is based on...? JPA? how did you cooked it?
Looks nice but I think that DIAL PAD has poor visibility - try with darker colour.

hey everyone. a new custom rom is cooking......
see the screenshots...
suggestions are welcome.......
v1.0 would be attached shortly........
and updates would be coming soon..
changes:
well everything from a to z in looks changes......
note: the notification bar/status bar is under development, so this is not the final look.........
Click to collapse
tried like 10 times to add reboot, recovery and download options to the power menu....
but i dont get it where the hell i am mistaking.....
anybody help please????
finaly someone is doing some modding on i5800! cheers!
well i have reached much ahead of this.............
i have added many codes to the system files in order to add reboot, recovery, download options......
RESULT:
1. no reboot/rec./download options
2. but the phone shutdown and startup time was reduced considerably....(accidental finding i suppose )
Any other advantages or is your rom just about the look?
Deodexed? Pre-Rooted? Changes in Filesystem?
On what FW is it based? What kernel is in use?
What's the source?
Changelist?
Its looks cool
what are the advantages pal and is this ROM only for LOOKS?
Can you please include the advantages
Good Job pal we all appretiate your work.
A suggestion:
Blue icons for the notification bar?
hmm you added reboot option in power menu!!! thats great!
i hope that one day programmers like The Dark Lestat, Gsam101, abhi0n0nakul, motafoca, apollo5801 and others (sorry if i didn't mention someone) unite, combine their knowledge and create something perfect for our i5800...

[help] apk manager problem

so i am trying to add the notification toggles mod to my r800x and i have found the files from the mod to do so. but when i add them to my stock SystemUI.apk apk manager will not add them i have tried time and time again and when i decompile what i modded its the same as stock except smaller due to compression. i dont know what im doing wrong and if anyone can help it would be much appreciated.
i have attached the stock systemui.apk as well as what needs to be added to it.
use 7 zip?
Sent from my R800i using Tapatalk
wont work it needs to be decompiled edited and recompiled. 7zip wont allow you to make the modifications required. but apparently apk manager only allowsyou to edit files not add brand new ones, so unless someone else can figure it out us r800x owners yet again get shafted.

[REQ]Longpress back button to kill app

Hello!
I am not new to these forums.. I am a frequent reader, but I am not much of a poster.
I have a request that I think will benefit alot of galaxy tab 10.1 users running the stock roms.
Would anyone be able to /interested in modding the android.policy.jar file PhoneWindowManager.smali file to enable longpress back to kill foreground app? like the function we get in CM and AOKP roms? There is no need to have a setting for it in system settings. Just an android.policy.jar we could flash if we want the function enabled..
I have found this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1969499 discussing and explaining how to do this.
I have tried to do this myself, but either it just won't work or I end up in a bootloop. I am new to editing .smali files and understanding their buildup.. So I am asking here to see if anyone is willing to take a look and help me out.
My guess is that I am not the only one who wants this in the stock rom, and I hope that someone is willing to do this to the benefit of not only me but everyone else running the stock ICS and JB roms missing this function.
I am running the "something" JB stock rom by smaw51 with the extended power menu. I will add a link to my android.policy.jar if anyone wants to take a look at it.. If not edit it, maybe explain what strings to change in the .smali file in order to get it working. I know we will probably need a custom .smali with the kill function aswell if the one in this thread won't work...
Download android.policy.jar
Kind regards
Michael

I finally got this working after numerous edits and tests, and with lots of help from Mirko ddd, tdunham and lyapota.
Does anyone want me to post a tutorial on how to do this?
Will require some modification to the android.policy.jar file.
Might require decompiling and getting a string from framework-res.apk values/public.xml
(Optional) in order to get a toast message saying "Application Killed." we will need to edit some strings in framework-res.apk values/strings.xml and recompiling framework-res.apk using APKTool or Virtuous Ten Studio. If we don't change this we still do get a toast, but it will then say "force app to close", wich (in my opinion) didn't look very stock.
Also, I have only tested this on JB, but it might be very similar for ICS.
Would really appreciate this function!

System/framework/framework-res.apk
System/app/Priv/SystemUI.apk
System/app/Settings.apk
Click to collapse
FOR USERS EDITING IN MOBILE (Root Explorer)..........PC users go down
Now rename the follwing files (Both from your device and the other rom) [dont mix them up. place them in different folder] as
Code:
framework-res.apk
as
Code:
framework-res.zip
Code:
Settings.apk
as

FOR PC USERS
JUST Select the apk and right click and select winzip or any other tool and press extract
From now on use have to use your brain, gut feel, your choices and stuff.
SO Extract the zips
Got to Res folders of each apk
For Example if you are working on Settings go to
Res folder in both your rom and the cm11
in your rom go to the the file which is related to your screen resolution
Eg.
For HDPI -(drawable-hdpi)
and same with cm11 and then start comparing the pictures the both folders and there might be nice pics in (drawble-XXHDPI) folder and that doesnt mean you can take all the pics from drawable-XXHDPI after choosing your stuff replace your images and rename if necessary ( if the images look exactly the same and with different name and rename to the name of picture in your name and replace the pic ) just go into the main folder of the file of your app which you extracted and zip of your rom
For Eg. Its Setting app
after you have edited the pics
Some Other Tips
There are few pictures in blue try to edit theme with gimp or Image Editor By Byte Experts
For chaning Default Wallpaper
Go to framework-res.apk
in that go to res
then drawable
and choose the Image you want and replace the image with same name
9 pngs can be replaced in the same way, but if you want to edit them follow this video- How to easily edit .9.png files
go back to res and then back again you will find all the folders like
assets
META-INF
res
resources.arsc
AndroidManifiest.xml
Select all the files present and zip them then Rename the zip again to " Setting.apk "
now you need to push the file back to your device
Just follow this Thread - How Install a App as System APP
For Setting and SystemUI and for framework
you need to paste them in ROOT/System/framework

Great guide. Just one point/tip if I may, I see it a lot that People suggest to rename an apk to zip, well in order to open a zip you obviously need to have a program capable of doing so, so just set apks to open with your preferred zip program which will cut out the unnecessary step of having to rename each apk you want to mod.

No I actually din't theme it, I used exdailer and dark theme its a light and good looking too
Great thread. Helped me a lot since I'm working on a Android L themed ROM for the galaxy express using Pacrom as base. I've managed to get the settings.apk theme changed like the header and color and stuff. Trying to change the icon colors in settings and theme the dialer and framework res. Whenever I theme the dialer and framework res it the dialer doesn't show up after replacing via system/priv-app permissions -rw-r-r-. And the framework res cause a boot loop. All I did was change some pngs and .9 images and edited the XML's dimensions and styles XML to match up then made any necessary changes to the drawables due to kitkats new theming process. Shoot me a PM thanks In advance.

Well it lots like you have normally edited .9.pngs like any other picture so there is a force close as framework runs throughout the system there is probably a boot loop for now take the apks from youe rom and flash them from recovery and after that while editing .9.pngs you first decompile the apk
Then select the picture leaving that black dots and the border and save and recompile.
I have attached the video in first post

hey, i dont know how to do that. but i can recommend that ( actually i am doing in that way)
1. find any systemui.apk that has the style what you want.
2. decompile it and go to res/values/style.xml
3. match your style.xml and your downloanded style.xml
4. try to simulate your xml to that xml .
hope this helps.
thanks bro...

1. find any systemui.apk that has the style what you want.
2. decompile it and go to res/values/style.xml
3. match your style.xml and your downloanded style.xml
4. try to simulate your xml to that xml .
hope this helps.

don't try to change whole lines !!!
for example :
in your style.xml -- > <style name="BackgroundOnlyTheme" parent= @ANDROID:style/Theme.Holo.
in dowloanded style.xml --> <style name="BackgroundOnlyTheme" parent= @ANDROID:style/Theme.Holo.Light">
so you have to edit your line and add '' Light '' end of it. it will look like @ANDROID:style/Theme.Holo.Light
The important thing is you have to figure out what lines are related to your notification panel!!!
I am doing the same thing right now. I have couple cm11 themes and i am changing my sytles, colors, dimens according to theme's styles, colors.xml etc ..
I am using notepad++.
Just open the 2 xmls that you wanan check. Put them side by side and check the lines.
if something going wrong when your systemui get function ... you have to come back to your xml and check the line again.
The last say --> maybe you will need to change some drawble xmls and some drawble hdpi/ xhdpi/ xxhdpi files according to your dpi .
thanks again

maybe ... it depends on the theme's color and style. For instance: you will set your notifaction panel is white and if ur text color is white then you will not be able to read/see your notification you gotta see what's hapening after editing styles ... if it's ok then no problem. if it is as my mention then you gotta edit your colors.xml ...
i hope you got the concept of the work.
you can search any tutorial for editing notification panel. All necessary steps can be found. according to those tutorials you can edit your systemui.
For instance:
In the tutorial will say let's edit this line according to that .... you have to find this line at the xml in your lewa systemui and edit according to it
good luck happy theming ...
