Hi,
There's no section for your device on XDA, so you'd want to ask for help here....

[Q] E: Can’t mount /dev/block/mmcblk0 (or NULL) ( No Such file or directory)

Hi Friends,
I am new to the XDA community and was driven here as a lot of my friends recommended this.
I recently installed the InDroid 4.0 on my Samsung Galaxy I5801 handset. Everything went fine, no problems. After that i wanted to upgrade the version from 4.0 to 4.1, but the upgrade method didn't work.
I would get the following error :- E: Can’t mount /dev/block/mmcblk0 (or NULL) ( No Such file or directory) .
I have searched the forum and trust me, if there was a tool on this website which would tell you how long I have been searching, it would be nothing less than 8 hours straight.
I have read thru the forums about fastbooting and other options.
To begin with, I tried formatting my phone completely, used another SD card but I would get the same error. My phone is rooted but that error seems to keep popping up.
I get the following when I reach my Recovery Screen :-
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Android System Recovery
Samsung Recovery Utils – For BML-
Enter : ok key, select
Reboot system now
Apply sdcard:update.zip
Wipe data factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Finding the update package…
E: Can’t mount /dev/block/mmcblk0 (or NULL) ( No Such file or directory)
E: Can’t mount SDCARD:Update.zip. Installation Aborted.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I followed the steps exactly as in the InDroid forum and also, I downloaded the videos off youtube, just in case, but no go.
I am faced with two issues:
1) With this update, my memory card would never show up in the PC.
2) I cannot upgrade the versions.
Is there any way that I can directly go to version 4.4 instead of following the upgrade path?
Is there any way that I can upgrade by resolving this issue.
I am back to my factory Default Installation and the memory card works fine and everything else works fine.
I know that you guys are professionals and busy, but Any help would be Really appreciated. I could just back away to the factory ROM but i don't want my efforts to go waste.
Please Help.
Regards,
Shashank Raj.
Samsung I5801.

First, sorry for my bad English (not my native language)
Device : YP-GS1 (Samsung galaxy s wifi 3.6)
Android 2.3.6 stock firmware / kernel
After a build.prop edit, my device did not reboot : I got bootloop. Then I flashed stoch firmware with Odin and I got another error, logo.jpg draw failed. Then it shows the recovery and tell me "
e:failed to mount /sdcard (unknown error :0)
E:copy_cache_media : Can't mount /sdcard
Your storage is not prepared yet. Please use UI menu for format and reboot actions."
Do you have an idea ?
Thanks in advance.

[Completed] Rom error [ please help ]

Today I decided to upgrade my Android 4.0 on my Samsung Galaxy S III mini to Android 5.1 ( Lollipop ).
I decided to install Cyanogenmod 12 to get Android 5.1 ( Lollipop ).
So I put Cyanogenmod 12 on my external SD-Card.
Then I installed ClockworkMod Recovery [Version 6.0.2.7 ] on my phone.
After that I did a factory reset and then I started the installation.
After 3-5 minutes, there was an error :crying:.
It says: " ApplyParsedPerms: Isetfileicon of /system/lost+found to u: object_r:system_file:s0 failed:
Operation not supported on transport endpoint
set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
E:Error in /external_sd/Download/cm12.1_golden.nova.20150901.zip
(Status 7) Installation aborted. "
Then I tried to reboot my phone, but everytime it returns to ClockworkMod Recovery.
I searched for a solution,but I didnt find it.I tried
to do a factory reset too.
It seems like all system files are deleted because of this ROM installation.
And now I cant start my phone.
What can I do?
Please help!
Thanks.

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
Sorry to hear about your trouble but fortunately there is an XDA area dedicated to the Samsung Galaxy S II Miini at http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-mini which would be a good starting place. I suggest you post your question with all relevant details in the friendly Q&A forum there at http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-mini/help where the experts familiar with your device will be best able to guide you. You could also ask wherever you found the ROM that you're attempting to install.
Good luck!

Hello, and welcome to XDA!
TWRP should allow for adb access, you should be able to push a different ROM zip to your device. Such as:
Code:
adb push name-of-rom.zip /sdcard/
Then there is also the fire-breather method:
> Nexus 7 > Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > [GUIDE] Flashing a Factory Image with fastboot / return to stock
If you go this way, read and understand everything before continuing. Any questions about it, can go in that thread (once you have an XDA account).
Hope this helps, and good luck!
