[Q] rom tool box cpu control settings - General Questions and Answers

hi
i have rom toolbox pro in my karbonn a21 i want to set up my phone cpu profile through rom tool box pro to improve my phone performance and battery backup also so can some one please tell me specifications of my phone cpu which will best for ph. specifically battery performance .
my ph frequences are max 122 245 320 480 600 1152 mhz
if someone tell me the frequnce according to my phone. dat would be really greatfull.
or if there is another way to increase my battery performance so please tell me i have cwm 5.0.2.8
so please kindly anwser my query as soon as possible.
thanks in adavance

If its about battery life as well as performance, things are complicated. If you have good performance, your battery life is decreased, if you want good battery life, you need to sacrifice performance
However, to get both, use the ONDEMAND or ONDEMANDX(if available) cpu governer in the cpu control function. These governers pump the cpu up to higher frequencies depending on the working load, so you get nice performance, and also brings down cpu frequency to lower values when you do not use your phone, like when screen is off and phone is on idle, thus it also saves your precious battery life. This should help you get what you desire

Okay look....
Overclocking is both safe and dangerous....
If you keep your phone overclocked at a high frequency all the time then it will cause damage to the CPU and the battery life....
But 800 MHz if fairly enough and should not cause any damage.
Even I keep my phone at 800 MHz all the time....
Regarding the best ROM, just check out the development section and find the ROM that matches your needs....
thanks you i think it is good enough to overclock but it must be for your daily work if you want read book than make the cpu speed in 500 if want to play games make it in 800 but i think the battery life will be very bad what you think i must do to keep my life battery up every time ?
i just want rom for gaming and so fast i will check the development section thanks you

You can set up profiles using the SetCPU app to get a better battery life....
Here's my SetCPU profile settings :
Normal Usage - 83 to 800 MHz
Screen off - 83 to 300 MHz
Time based (4:00 AM to 7:00 AM) - 83 MHz
Governer - Ondemand
My battery lasts about 30 hours with moderate usage....

OMG How is that possible 30 hours

[Q] p500 How to increase the CPU voltage to improve CPU frequency

I have known that some phones have kernels surporting increase CPU voltage(such as htc G7,ME525).In this way,we can make the CPU running at a faster speed smoothly and stably. The default CPU frequency of P500 is 600MHz and the frequency is too low for performing some heavy works. So,i want to improve the voltage of CPU to make the heavy woks more easily. Is there anyone can help me?
Can we make a kernel satisfying the requirement
Can we make a kernel satisfying the requirement or there is another way to resolve this problem.

Stable voltage for undervolting

Hello guys if you have note 3 (sm-n900) with Kernel -halaszk-UNIVERSAL5420- and want to undervolt your CPU I have found a stable voltage for undervolting, Use SetCpu, first of all set your CPU when you are playing huge games to avoid overheating to min.200 max1300Ghz.
200Mhz-700mv
250-750
300-775
350-825
400-850
450-875
500-925
550-975
600-1025
650-1075
800-750
900-800
1000-825
1100-850
1200-875
1300-950 or 975
If your device overheats after undervolting I recommend to use DVFS disabler.
Do keep in mind, that there are not 2 exactly same devices. There is no stable voltage, which works for all phones with that model number.
Need help
I am using N-900 running Lollipop stock rom 5.0
I wanna do undervolting the cpu for long lasting battery life without flashing new mod rom.
Please give me some advice or recommended kernel for stock rom supporting an undervolt method.
Thank you in advance.
are there tests for battery life gained vs performance lost? would be interesting

1) What is DVFS?
2) Underclock to 200mhz is NOT POSSIBLE!
3) There no undervolting, because my phone stock volt for 300Mhz is 775Mhz, which i use for 300Mhz is 700Mhz and no reboot, nothing. Just bit longer battery life.
4) Setting for 300Mhz-1300Mhz for gaming isn't recommend i. Just enabler Samsung Stock Power Saving. It's limited CPU to 1700Mhz with MCPS (Multi-core Power Saving) with Bettery thermal options and GPU framerates limits to 30FPS for slightly save power and slightly reduce overheating.
Thanks

Cpu Overclocking and undervolting

Hey guys I am using kernel auditor
Want to know
1)the profile to get the max performance regardless of battery
2)profile for normal multitasking but with higher battery saving capacity than stock arrangement
3)which is better 4 Cores and then restricting to 1.5ghz (or any other frequency which u would seem for the power saving) or switching off permanently and then setting the frequencies at about 2 GHz

Best CPU settings in Kernel Aduitor for good battery life

I am running MoKee with pretty decent battery life but am currently experimenting with reducing screen resolution and tweaking CPU & GPU settings (using Kernel Aduitor) to see if I can squeeze more out of a charge. Not really sure what the best settings are to maximise battery while keeping smooth everyday performance (I don't game or do any very heavy tasks or multitasking). I thought that it might be possible to get near SD625 stamina from the SD820 seeing as they are both built on the 14nm process, but the architecture is very different (ours has the quad-core big little set up with kryo, as opposed to the 625's octa-core A53 set up). At the moment I am trying it with the little cores left at default and the big cores max frequency down clocked by about 25%. I haven't changed the governors. I also down clocked the GPU max frequency a bit. Anyone have any advice regarding an optimal set up?
Not sure about the best settings but for sure I'm waiting for your feedback regarding this change and battery life. It should be improving it, but nobody knows how much.
Also I've noticed that in youtube if there is 720p or 1080p, the default setting is 720p (of course our screen is a multiple of 720p).
Are the pixels visible?
Couldn't see pixels with reduced screen resolution, even at 720p. Of course it's only rendering a lower resolution image then stretching it over the physical
1440p display. The result is just a softer image. Looks a bit strange, but 1080p wasn't too bad. However, didn't seem to have any effect on battery life and surprisingly at 720p I got a worse Antutu score than normal, so I have given up and returned to 2K.
I feel sorry for that I was really hoping for some way to increase the battery life a bit.
Hey guys... Today I found something interesting in our German Android forum. There's a group of people who are developing a great Rom for our device. It's just called the telegram Rom.
So the Rom will include scripts tweaks and a full working app for changing governors. So you will be able to get a much better battery life. The German guys talking about 20 to 30 percent extra power for our device.
The hole project behind this was founded here on xda but mainly developed for the Oneplus-3.
But in fact the whole workaround is working on any device that's running a SD820 processor.
Here is the link to the site
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/advanced-interactive-governor-tweaks-t3476589
So maybe you like to have a look. There are also complete explanations of how the SD820 works related to energy management and voltage at minimal and maximum clock speed!
I hope this can answer your questions.
Thanks for sharing Lizard82.
I follow the thread and use AKT... i am using the profile called Project Zhana & X.A.N.A v4.2. 14 hr sot is unheard of but I am getting close to 6hrs sot with xposed loaded which I am already impressed. It is is way better then what I used to get around 3 hrs sot. I am running revolution 21s rom which is very similar to EUI and not the most optimized rom with heavy battery drain. and I am happy that this phone finally has a good battery life. Appreciate Lizard82.
The sot really depends of what you do with the phone, and what apps run when the phone is on idle. I changed the resolution to 1080p but didn't notice any difference, so I went back to 1440p. There are tons of threads about kernel Adiutor, you won't have a hard time finding it
For best battery on Nougat I did this on Nexus 7.1 and AOSP 7.1 roms with BS kernel:
- Use rom that can use Black Screen kernel 2.1/2.2 or later
- Use kernel Adiutor to change CPU governor to impulse (or Darkness)
- Set value in Govenor tuneable (locate just under CPU Governor touch it to go inside to change value) : highspeed_freq to 307200, set Powersave_Bias to 1. I changed both BIG and LITTLE CPU core in kernel Adiutor.
- I think keep AKT profile on stock/unchange no need to set it is ok
