Which devices support USB OTG? - Android General

Below are some smartphones that offer the USB OTG compatibility.
*Sony Xperia Z, ZL, Z Ultra, Z1
*Samsung Galaxy S2, S3, S4, Note 1, Note 2, Note 3
*LG Optimus G, G2
*HTC X, One, One mini, One max
*Google Nexus 5
If you’re not sure whether your device has the capability of acting as an OTG host, you can easily figure it out by downloading a free app from the Play Store called USB Host Diagnostics.

what is the cheapest dual core android phone with HDMI out?

I was gonna buy a xperia sola. but ti doesn't have an HDMI out.
Maybe Xperia U
If you are willing to buy a MHL adapter , most 2012 will have HDMI , even some 2011 ( Xperia mini or mini pro for example )
As far as phones that have mini HDMI connector and come with a mini HDMI to HDMI cable in the box , you have the Xperia P and the Xperia S , there may be others also .
og atrix
hmmmm you could try micro usb to hdmi converter that might work for a cheap phone.
It should be the Xperia Neo V. Or the 7 month older Xperia Neo, if you can find.
Can also be the Xperia Arc S. Or the older Arc, if you can find.
Not sure for other brands though, I know Samsung Infuse 4G has HDMI out.
Err... I just realized the question is for "dual core". The ones I mentioned above are single core, and certainly low priced now.
For dual core, Xperia P and Xperia S, but these are certainly not cheap compared to the single core models above. Samsung Galaxy S2 has HDMI as well.

New phone. Money no object. Help me select.

New work phone that will be bought from the carrier. Price no consideration. The carrier is selling these phones unlocked and types modem shouldn't be and issue. The company just gives me a phone every 2 years and pays carrier fees. No maintenance, extras, out of warranty fixes or accessories added. Will own this phone in a year of working for them. I tend to update and maintain my phones and I dabble in Android development.
Most important critera:
Good reception and call quality
Sturdyness
Easy and cheap to fix
Good mod community and long time mod support (preferably with NFC intact)
Middling importance:
Battery.
Size (not 5.5+)
Camera
Decently dust/waterproof
Not important:
Screen quality (above 720p)
Storage (above 16GB)
CPU/GPU
Weight
Wifi reception
MicroSD
Wireless charging
Fingerprint/retina scan
Speakers
Front camera
Available choices (leaving out some older generation devices):
HTC 10
Huawei P9 Titanium
Samsung Galaxy A5 A510
Samsung Galaxy S7
Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 G389
Sony Xperia M5
Sony Xperia X
Sony Xperia X Performance
Sony Xperia XA
Sony Xperia XZ
ZTE Axon 7
Leaning towards the Xperia XZ. Samsung seems to be no good for mod support in recent generations. Don't know about HTC, ZTE and Huawei.

Don't go for Samsung their ram management is not to good
And google out the other models and compare them
OP3T is sadly not an option. Work is buying what I ask for from the list above. The main criteria is ease of repair and mod support for the models in the list.

Phones with Video (MHL or DP output)

hello,
Is there a list of phones that support Video Output ?
I found list of phones supporting MHL (unfortunately newest phones are Sony Zx phones which are not very popular in modding community).
But I can't find any list of phones having DP Alt Mode ? Are there any phones that support DP over USB-C ?
I found this but the list is not complete:MacBook, Chromebook Pixel, Surface Book 2, Samsung Galaxy TabPro S/Tab S4, iPad Pro (3rd generation), BlackBerry Key2, Essential Phone, HTC 10/U Ultra/U11/U12+, Huawei Mate 10/20/30, LG V20/V30/V40*/V50, OnePlus 7/7T, Razer Phone, ROG Phone/II, Samsung Galaxy S8/S9/S10, Sony Xperia 1/5, Microsoft Lumia 950, HP Elite x3 (Wikiwand-USB-C)
