I have my moto g on android 4.4.4 kitkat and whenever any sim goes in roaming network that particular sim is unable to do any outgoing call only incoming, GPRS or 3G and SMS works, is there any solution for it ? On non roaming network the calling works fine
Try this: go on settings in "Phone" app and check that Caller ID by Google is on, also go on Call settings, then Additional settings and check that Caller ID is set to Network default, tell me if it works:good:

Hey,
can anyone help me.
I have an unlocked XDA II and I would like to change the default voicemail number from 901 to 121, can somebody tell me where you change this settings.
Cheers
Gigi
Go to start/settings/phone then click services, click voice mail and sms, then click get settings, you can change it from there.
on XDA I : start -> settings -> phone -> services -> voice mail and sms
Hey
thanks for the reply but the one I would like to change is when your are in the active screen.
go to messaagging/voicemail
That is the one I want to change it is set to 901.
I would like to change it to the Vodafone one which is 121
Cheers
Gigi
I am also having trouble enterng the voicemail number.
Whenever I enter the voicemailnumber in the boxes you get after 'Get settings', a tap om 'ok' just gives me the message the information could not be updated to the network.
I reckon that is just the case, BUT these info (SMS messagecentre and voicemail number) should NOT be updated 'to the network'. These number just reside on the SIM.
Because no voicemailnumber is set-up, the default speed-dial (1-key) for voicemail, which cant be deleted, does not work either . . .
Does anyone have a clue how to enter a voicemailnumber ??
Found a solution, see my other thread:

Yes everyone has, please use the search.
You have to do it manually using the keypad to enter in the code. There are instructions on the google voice site.
Your phone will still say it's using the carrier provider for voicemail but if you call your phone Google Voice should pick up.

"Voicemail Settings" in the menu just refer to which service your phone will dial when you call voicemail, like when pressing and holding #1. For your incoming calls to be routed to your Google Voice, you need to look in "Call Forwarding", that's where it needs to be correct. Just using the *004*yourgooglevoicenumber# code will change your call forwarding settings.
Every time i receive an incoming call, the caller ID displays the number in a weird format. ex. +2223334444 (only displays + sign, area code and phone number).
For my understanding, the PLUS sign should be followed by a COUNTRY CODE which is 1. then the area code in PARENTHESIS and phone numbers with a DASH in between. My caller ID is displaying the incoming phone number in a string so that it is not recognized by my contact list.
I am having trouble to fix this issue by adjusting setting, there is no option under PHONE > MENU > CALL SETTINGS > ADDITIONAL SETTINGS
All i have under the additional settings menu are Call barring, Noise reduction, and Fixed dialing numbers.
My Verizon GS3 is rooted and unlocked to use AT&T prepaid SIM. Nothing major got changed except switching the network to GSM. Is that something Verizon has done to cripple their own SCH-i535 version? Any way to get my caller ID back to display the proper format with dash and parenthesis?
Thanks!
Sorry can't help but I'm curious, what do you consider a Major change?

Not sure about stock as I'm running Synergy, maybe stock from Verizon has more or possibly Verizon doesn't allow those options and the videos are from a different version.

I am having a tough time figuring out the phone settings on my Nexus 5. My caller ID does not show up on outgoing calls. When I first looked for settings I found Google Caller ID which is on and no other settings. When I turned Google caller ID off all the other setting I am familiar with appeared. When I hit advanced options caller id is greyed out and finally says network or Sim card error. What am I doing wrong.

I think this is normally a function of your carrier. What shows up on caller id when I call out is determined by what I set on my carrier web site (AT&T) not anything on the phone.

In Cyanogen-mod I've always had an option to either show Caller ID all the time or Use Carrier settings. I found that in some areas with the AT&T settings caller ID would not show, although it did most of the time. With Show Caller ID checked instead it always showed. I've used CM for so long I really don't remember what stock looks like. Is this just a CM feature?
I am wondering if anyone had this issue after rooting the phone, but when I receive calls, their caller ID comes wrong: The number is always is missing the country code:
for example, instead of receiving +1 248 123 4567, i get +248 123 4567. So not only saved numbers are not recognized because they do not match the caller id, but if i let the call stop and try to call back that missed call, I get the operator's automated message saying that the dialed number is wrong.
Any idea about how to fix this?

Go to phone/settings/calls and disable/enable assisted calling
Plus set your current country to match the country code

I tried both enabled and disabled assisted dialing. Problem still persisting. Country code is matching (USA). Any hints?

I installed prefixer a couple of days ago... still not fixed. Can you walk me through how you made it work please?
My phone keeps getting worse... home screen changing to pink randomly, dialtone not working anymore. Rooting my phone was the biggest mistake ever. I wish i could reverse all this process.
