So, the EXTREME SYNDICATE ROM by elliwigy is extremely slimmed down, fast, and just all around awesome. With that comes the challenge of what to include and what to exclude in the ROM. In an effort to help support the folks who have asked for extra items that they want to add/add back to the this ROM, elliwigy and I created this thread as a central location for the requested APKs and ZIPs etc. Whenever someone makes a request of this sort, and we can accommodate, we will post the answer/file here instead of the main ROM thread.
Here is where the files will be located.

And, the stock messaging .apk would be good to have here.

This is just a link with some APKs in it. Since I want it also, I will work on putting together a fully functional APK to add to the ROM.
We had posted a link to the Stock SMS in the original thread. Since I do not have enough posts yet (working on it), I am unable to relocate all the links to this thread but I know elliwigy will be doing that once he is home from work.

Just to let you know that mod dose not work with the NE9 firmware. It was working on NCG but NE9 broke it. I think it's the flashlight smali file but I don't know enough to fix it.

OK sorry hours of this and I am tired but this is what I got so far and I think I am close...Maybe elliwigy can do it real quick since he is all setup.
I got the SystemUI.apk and SecSettings.apk from ExtremeDebloatDeOdex_v1_5 which I remember had the Flashlight already. I loaded them up and although not dark themed etc. the Flashlight showed up and worked on NE9 of course. Since Misterxtc thinks it may be the smali, I grabbed that from the SystemUI.apk and have it on the side. Tomorrow I am going to try to decomile the current ROM SystemUI and SecSettings APKs and do the same process that elliwigy had pointed me to but this time use the FlashlightQuickSettingButton.smali file from ExtremeDebloatDeOdex_v1_5 and see if that works.
Now, elliwigy, do you still have the decompiled apks that maybe you can do the above quicker than I can? I only ask because first I have never done this before and not sure I am doing it all correctly and second, had some real challenges to get to decompile/recompile these APKs. At one point I had it showing but would not turn on the light. I know you worked hard on this and if you do not feel like messing with it again then I would be glad to keep beating on it.

If you're anything like me, you really like the stock LGMessage.apk with the pop-over notification. You know you can get similar functionality in a variety of third-party SMS programs, but you like that oh-so-stock feeling...
But, oh no! The stock messaging app has this annoying habit of turning the screen on every single time you get a message.
When you're like me, sending over 200-300 texts a day, this will just not do.
Enter, the attached deodexed, ever-so-slightly customized LGMessage.apk -- with screen-on notification removed, and everything else the same.
Installation Instructions:
* Back-up LGMessage.apk and LGMessage.odex from /system/app
* Move existing LGMessage.apk and LGMessage.odex to some other location outside of /system/app (I put mine in my dropbox)
* Copy over this newly modified LGMessage.apk
* Reboot
* Profit

This file was relatively manually deodexed, edited, recompiled and signed with assistance from the following:
Smali / Baksmali (for decompile/compile)
Android SDK / Eclipse (for pulling/pushing/code-diving)
Notepad++ (for search in files)
Beer (for motivation)
Aleksandar Despotovski's Android Ultimate Toolbox Pro (for signing)
Im on vzw and havent noticed my screen turning on for every text. What are you on?

I would need the following files:
/system/app/LGMessage.apk
/system/app/LGMessage.odex
/system/framework/lge-res.apk
Note: None of these files contain any personal user information, as they are the stand-alone application/related resources.
If your phone is already rooted/deodexed, then *just* the LGMessage.apk should be enough.
It is entirely possible that the APK and/or resource file is not named the same on that phone, in which case other variations I have seen in the past are: SecMms.apk, Mms.apk, and Message.apk
Just give me approximately 15-30 minutes to upload them. BTW, in the OG Pro it is UniMessagebin.
Thanks again for trying and hope you succeed!

Shakes- so here's the deal, the UniMessagebin is quite a bit different than the LG G2 implementation.
I was able to track down what I think are the two tweaks necessary to disable screen-on notification, but I have no good way of testing this so it is a real shot in the dark.
Please, please realize this and do due diligence and back-up your files just in case.
Installation Instructions:
* Backup UniMessagebin.apk and UniMessagebin.odex from /system/app
* Move existing UniMessagebin.apk and UniMessagebin.odex to some other location outside of /system/app (I put mine in my dropbox)
* Copy over the newly modified UniMessagebin.apk

In nearly every case, emoji's are just pictures sent as an MMS when used on Android phones instead of a special softbank short code for said image.
I had to download a modified UniMessagebin from I think a LGOG because that one does not turn it to MMS. However it does not support XXHDPI resolution so the fonts are not as small as they are supposed to be. Is there a way to disable auto MMS conversion when including emojis?

Not that I'm aware of, but I don't know much about MMS/emoji technology.
I was under the impression that emoji's were specialized character encodings and that the reason most Android systems turn them into MMS is for more universal usage without the worries of character encoding compatibility.
Sorry I can't help more :/

I mean opposite, it probably isn't that hard and you can have it now if you do it yourself. Or ask for clues on how to do it instead of expecting someone else to do it for you.

Friday night I found out how to manually do it but java was being a pain in the butt and I wanted to test it before telling you how also so I could have the file to upload to you. Just so you know the file you needed to edit was the framework-res.apk not the .jar. the xml that needed to be edited was located at framework-res.apk\res\values\arrays.xml
Decompiled it just fine but on the compile after I was done editing java was being stupid and the compile failed. Hope this information can help you in the future.

I haven't tried it on 4.3 (have been putting off upgrading because of too many cons for the pros...) - but it bypasses all that verification stuff - still using the built-in tether.

Where did you learn how to edit the framework-res.apk? I would rather know how to do it myself but my java skills are rudimentary at best (though I am a quick learner!!). What did you use to do the editing?
Thanks!
I downloaded a note 2 recovery zip of the modified apk. I then spent about ten minutes googling where the tether subscription checker was located then compared my apk to the note 2 apk. A lot of trial and error if you would like to see it old and slow has a edited recovery zip for the 4.3 tether (came out a day after I was looking for it so that's why I didn't choose that one). Just decompile both apk and look in framework-res.apk\res\values\arrays.xml. what I did when comparing it to the note 2 was open both of the XML in notepad++ and compare lines. I am confident I can now mod it without examples if it ever happens again. Finding a decompiler is the easy part there are a lot of free ones out there just Google it and as long as you can recognize every character in the XML (no odd symbols) it decompiled correctly. I could not find a guid on how to do this but I probably learned more from my errors than I would have learned from a step by step. Hope that helps and sorry if that made no sense typed it in a rush.

Oh and if you dig around in the apk long enough you might notice how easy (but time consuming) it would be to make your own custom modifications and themes for your own rom. I like doing it this way over xposed because no matter what I do xposed is super buggy for me.
It's just the stock email for 4.4.2 without the security requirement.
Been using it with my Fortune 10 company for a while now perfectly without security, I just use swipe on the lockscreen.
I also don't see why this wouldn't work with any other Touchwiz ROM using 4.4.2. Give it a shot.
1. You need root and Safestrap.
2. Remove current email apk and exchange apk first, with Titanium or another.
3. Flash zip in Safestrap.

Fixed in OP.
I flashed this to my 4.4.2 S4 with Insane KK v11 rom and it works great except it force closes when I try to go into the settings to adjust the sync frequency.
Are there any ideas on how to clear this issue or find another APK that works with 4.4.x?
Where are email.apk and exchange.apk files located? I've searched for them and can't find them. /system /app? Or could they be another file name on a Sprint s5.
Thanks.

I have not tested that method but I assume if you copy the odex version(Going to release tonight) to your external drive(SD Card) then use root explorer to overwrite two existing files ( services.jar & services.dex ), reboot your device. You could have Native hotspot. On the other hand if you use this method and something break's you need to use the below method:
The more approve method would be to install a custom recovery(TWRP), FLash Stockish ROM, then Install Native HotSpot. FYI.... you will trip Knox 0x1 using this method

Well looks like odex version is giving me problems so for now only deoxed works.
Question for @MasterZen88
Did you do this mod for the services.jar yourself or is this someone else's work? The reason I ask is because I checked the smali code and discovered there's apx 80% of the original code stripped out. I assume this was necessary and if so then Samsung took extensive measures to put a lock down on the tethering. Can you explain any of this? Very curious. A PM is fine if you prefer. Thanks for offering this mod. Much appreciated.

@tx_dbs_tx Sorry for the late reply... Really I just changed one line of code.. Thinking alot of code got stripped out through the Deodex process.

Yes a LOT of stuff was stripped out comparing it to the stock services.jar. I was expecting one line change but was surprised to see so much stuff being removed. It still works and I haven't noticed any issues. Thanks for the reply.
So I have rooted my note 4 and installed TWRP, but still stock rom. I have done the gallaxy tolls and the hotspot is working, but no toggle. Will this add a toggle?
Nk2 update?
Is something i should rename? Or is it an entirely a new setup?
Anyone have new link for the hotspot download?
Deoxed_Bonsai_HotSpot.zip
This ROM is now obsolete! My new ROM is called "Plasma ROM" - check that one out!

Sorry. I had screenshots, but DevDB projects are buggy and they are gone. I am adding the dark theme screenshots now. As for the AOSP theme, that is coming soon (hopefully).
EDIT: They're up! The AOSP theme will hopefully look something like this.
Not Lollipop, bold move! I am walking away from lollipop, so thanks for giving us another option!

I am working on a lollipop upgrade...
New update tonight: 1.5! I have fixed Chrome and almost finished most of the AOSP theme. Will also be updating base ROM from Extreme Debloat 1.0 to 1.5.
Is the aosp theme build off of the stock ui? As in lockscreen, notification bar and everything?

i spoke ahead of myself lol, I have no idea how to theme. i know someone who does, and I just send a PM to him to see if he could show me. I'm hoping it will look something like this.
I just removed the "AOSP Theme coming soon" thing because it's not 100% guarranteed yet, but it will probably still be coming!
Worst case, I will try to port the SystemUI and framework-res.apk from Eclipse ROM. (Or maybe even the Nexus 5...)
EDIT: Just got explained how to theme (thanks DROIDRAZ). When I get home tonight I will theme the APKs and hopefully include them in v1.6
Edit: nevermind. Didnt read everything like an idiot
Can we install this just with Safestrap or do we need to use flashfire?

I tried downloading a few APKs but with no luck. Maybe i need to take the back route and att them into their respective folders instead of flashing in Safestrap

I removed GoogleContactsSyncAdapter. Try copying it from WizzleWOM. Will post some links tonight.
In the 1.6 update tonight, will add back Email, ContactsSync, etc.
