Now our XOLO Q3000 is running KITKAT 4.4.2 officially.
Those who having jelly bean and wants to update to kitkat can follow steps given in this thread.
After updating to KITKAT OS the biggest issue we face is rooting it
========================================================================================================

First u should try rooting methods mentioned here.
1. Framaroot

4. kingo root,
5. Custom recovery method.
If at all one of the methods works and u get an superuser app in app drawer then install latest supersu app from playstore.

6. New method - tested and worked for chinasa

connect ur mobile in usb debugging mode.
Let it install mobilego app on mobile.
the select tools - root
Try this till it says successfully rooted.
After this message install supersu app from playstore.
goto supersu app - update binary- restart - goto supersu app - select uninstall other superuser app - reboot - ur fully rooted now.:good:

Reboot.
U can see kinguser app installed.
THIS IS TESTED BY ME AND WORKED FOR ME FOR 4 TIMES IN FIRST ATTEMPT.
8. New latest method - tested and worked for ME

Reboot in recovery and flash this file.

Titaium backup not compatible with kitkat.
kitkat 4.4.2 (which we have right now) itself having much issues so i prefer JB for myself
Go backup is compatible 3.51 version which i used.
As in kitkat some apps are considered as private apps and stored in diff folders so there is issue with restoring such apps/data like contacts and msgs.

not working

1. Dont increase size of font- it doesnt change anything.
2. Pressing thanks button is also an important thing.
3. Reading other threads/posts in the forum is also important before posting/asking for help.
For unbricking read install stock firmware section from this thread.
Thank you.

[GUIDE] How to flash CWM or TWRP recovery and root your device!
Disclaimer: Your warranty is now void. You do this in your own risk. I do not take any responsibility to your device.
Credits: This root method was found from a facebook group that uses this phone, i am just posting it here. Give thanks to Eduardo Perez!
I ported TWRP recovery for this device and Eduardo did the CWM recovery. Also thank rua1 from XDA for his MTK droid tools. Koush for his driver installer.
BACKUP YOUR DEVICE BEFORE DOING ANYTHING IN THE EVENT SOMETHING GOES WRONG.
Requirements:
1. A windows PC
2. MTK Droid tools
3. SP flash tools
4. CWM or TWRP recovery
5. Universal ADB driver
6. MTK preloader driver
[GUIDE] FLASH CWM/TWRP
1. Download the attached files below and extract them anywhere on your computer.
2. Extract Mtk VCOM drivers and install it. This is for the preloader drivers which will be used later.
3. Install ADB driver. Go to settings, then development if you don't see development go in about and click on the build number 7 times to enable development mode. Enable USB debugging.
4. Extract any other files in the folder and then go to SP flash tools
5. Disable any antivirus program and maybe turn off UAC.
6. Run flashtool.exe as administrator.
7. If anything pops up just ignore it and click ok.
8. Go to scatter loading and click it, locate the scatter file from the extracted folder and open it.
9. When it opens click on the recovery option and click the check box.
10. Decide which recovery you want and rename it to recovery.img.
11. Click on the location in the same recovery option and choose your recovery.img
12. Turn off your phone and take out the battery.
13. Click on Download and then connect the phone to the PC.
14. If you did everything i said above, it will flash your chosen recovery.img and you will have a custom recovery.
[GUIDE] ROOT/Superuser
1. Reinsert the battery and turn on the phone.
2.Place the root_grouper-tilapia_4.4_update.zip and superuser.zip on your sdcard or internal storage.
3. Turn off the phone and boot it into recovery mode.
4. Navigate using the volume keys for CWM recovery or just use touch for TWRP. Use the power button to select.
5.Select install zip from sdcard and choose zip from sdcard. Locate the zip files that you sent.
6. Flash the root_grouper-tilapia_4.4_update.zip first then flash the superuser.zip
7. Reboot your phone and there you go. Root Access

Okay, I just bought this phone and have been trying all the no PC methods for rooting this thing(TowelRoot and iRoot), no dice.
If anyone has done this for the following, let me know:
Model Number 4037T
Firmware Version 4.4.2
Build Number ALPS.KK1.MP1.V2.10
Custom Build Version C2VUMV0
Baseband version MOLY.WR8.W1315.MD.WG.MP.V34
Edit: Got it rooted via Kingo Root.
I have been trying for a while to root this thing. Framaroot, iRoot, and the others (Android-based) didn't work. Finally, I tried Kingo Root. But here's the rub - T-Mobile Device said it was rooted, and Kingo said it was rooted, and I got the KingoUser app in my drawer; but no apps that require root will work. So, all it seemed to really do is trick the thing into thinking it was rooted even though it is not.

I managed to root and have google apps on the last update of oppo r7 plusm thanks to oppotools 1.6.5, but be careful, any other previous oppotools will brick your phone (like many experienced in the forum) with the last updates of oppo roms since they try to prevent rooting and installing google market. So make sure to use version 1.6.5 from the link below
drive.google.com/file/d/0B-aJHtkQl-HNT2E3RnNzb1o4dU0/view
with this tool, first root your phone than restart and use the same tool to activate google apps. No computer needed.
Super SU is working fine after the procedure.
Still have not received thid update ..

I tried to flash TWRP and succeeded by porting. But unfortunately can't see any storage (internal or SD). Also can boot into recovery only once. If I try to boot into recovery it shows the broken android logo. Can you share the recovery you used for the TWRP for the M460. Also some screenshots of the recovery storage availability form your phone. Thank you in advance.
Here is the recovery i made : https://mega.nz/#!Jjx3lACD!QvM_8LDV_t9my1uvPJDdiRik_8FCNwuLkXyGkEa49vo

.....
Flash that recovery using adb&fastboot after enabling oem-unlocking option in developer options
Before doing any experiments make sure that you know how to flash stock rom if anything goes wrong....

Hello, I'm wondering if someone can help me out with my Lava Pixel 2 phone?
I'll tell you what I did and what the problem is now.
Several days ago I wanted to upgrade from the stock Android 5 to 6.
My phone had not been rooted before.
I managed to root the phone and install TWRP Recovery on it, but I did not make a backup before I started
and made some changes that prevented me from making a useful backup after TWRP recovery was installed.
After several attempts at installing Android 6 I finally was able to install one (Ruben).
This version is very bad and I would like to either go back to V. 5 or a better V.6 or V.7
The main problems I have now are the following:
1. I can't boot back to the TWRP Recovery menu. Any attempt to do that starts up the phone!
2. I can't find the correct driver to allow my phone to communicate with my computer.
I get as far as my computer identifying the Phone by name, but I can't make a connection to transfer files etc.
Any help with this would be appreciated!
The easiest method is to flash twrp recovery by sp flashtool if you know how to use sp flashtool after that you can root your phone by magisk zip by flashing it in twrp after that install magisk manager this method is 100% working
This recovery works in both lava v2 2gb/3gb
Unzip the files first then you can get the files
Mtk windows 10 driver working in any windows like xp 7 8 10 install driver for phone it is for windows to detect phone while flashing using sp flashtool just download sp flashtool
disable signature enforcement in windows 10 so you can easily install driver
Works in both 2gb/3gb
Flash it using spflashtool

Thanks cool92rj.
Can we change directions a bit?
Since I made my post a couple of days ago a lot has changed.
First off, I was able to get back my Android v.5.1 stock ROM.
I did this by loading the VCOM USB drivers on my Win 8.1 notebook and running SP Flash Tool.
Then I installed ROM 5.1
It worked.
However I would like to try out various v.6 and v.7 ROMS.
Since rooting my phone, I have been unable to get back into TWRP's boot menu.
In fact, I believe TWRP is no longer on my phone!
And I don't even know if my phone is rooted anymore!
I downloaded the files you shared above.
When I tried to Download the TWRP Recovery.img I got a "PMT changed for the ROM it must be downloaded" Error.
I tried to resolve it by Formatting, but that just bricked my phone.
So I started again just now and re-installed ROM 5.1
Could you please give me specific instructions how to :
1. Install the correct TWRP recovery image to my phone?
2. Root my phone?
3. Allow me to try different ROMs?
Thanks!

My device is Lava pixel v2 3gb and there is no custom rom available but for 2gb version you can get the roms from the internet and the twrp is working bro I flashed it in my v2 3gb by sp flashtool and it works with no bugs . after flashing twrp
Press power on+volume up key then you will redirect to recovery menu and choose recovery don't switch on your phone directly after flashing twrp if you do you have to flash it again

I am having several problems now.
1. My phone can't dial out or receive calls (SIM isn't working)
But my phone service provider says there is no problem with the cell tower.
2. I can't install TWRP recovery.
Any suggestions I should try?
Thanks!

This is because I think you format your phone by sp flashtool that's why it's not a big problem it will be OK
