[Q] Automatic Call Recording - Per Contact? - General Questions and Answers

Running Android 4.4.2 on Samsung Galaxy S4
Does anyone know if there's an app/module that allows you to record all calls from a particular contact in which you selected? I am really hoping to find something that'll let me record all incoming/outgoing calls automatically with a certain someone, while NOT having to record all calls. Does such an app even exist with that feature?!
I hope so!!
THANKS TO ANYONE WITH FEEDBACK:good:

Incoming & Outgoing call recording on CM7

Google Voice currently offers incoming recordings but what about outgoing calls?
So I did some searching and it turns out android as well as iOS blocks this feature from being accessed and all apps use tricks and hacks to make is work halfway.
However, CyonagenMod project should have no trouble accessing this feature since the entire OS is opened sourced. There hasn't been anything released or merged that would indicate anyone working on such a feature. So I ask your opinion and thoughts. Is this something you would like to see implemented? Does it make sense to allow people to record your conversation even if there was a consent message before starting the recording? After all, if you really needed to record a conversation, even if illegal, all Android and iOS phones have a headphones line out.
what do u mean by incoming recordings ?
Incoming meaning that when you get a call from someone you can press 4 (I think) and record a call. If you place the call, this option is not available.

[Q] Best Method For Recording Incoming & Outgoing Calls

Has anyone had any experience with recording calls on SGS3?
I have tried numerous 'call recorder apps' and they either dont work at all, or work for a couple seconds then just go garbled...
I already know about google voice and how you can easily enable call recording while using the GV number, but I want to be able to record calls using my carrier's number not my GV number...
Any thoughts?
I'm rooted/unlocked and open to any suggestions... Well versed with the terminal so even if there are some command liners that can dump/pipe the audio devices to files would be awesome
Would rather do the recording from the phone itself (not a dial-in type service like GV/skype/etc).

KitKat 4.4.2 problem
Hi
I am using Samsung Galaxy S2 with KitKat 4.4.2 Resurrection Remix ROM.
Since I upgraded from stock 4.1.2 to the custom KitKat ROM, the switch for recording option does not work for me. I can select one of the four options (MIC, VOICE_CALL, VOICE_UPLINK, VOICE_DOWNLINK), however, when I leave the app and return to it later (e.g. after making a call) it is automatically changed back to MIC. And of course, it does not record the call "nicely". I also tried to restart the phone after selecting another option, but without success.
On the old ROM everything worked perfectly.
Have you tested it on KitKat yet?

I don't think so. Am sorry for your loss. I know how it must feel losing important calls especially with no recycle bin function in android. There are various apps (with varying success rates) on playstore that promise to restore your deleted media files. I was able to restore a couple of deleted pictures on low quality that way. You may be able to restore your call files too. All the best.

[Q] Recording phone calls

Now that I have successfully rooted my phone, thanks to Wizzrah's Evita toolkit, i'm looking to resolve a problem with call recording.
There are a plethora of call recording apps on the market but they all require speakerphone to record both sides of the conversation which is often not ideal. In the old days of Android version 2, some phones had what they call 'hardware-based" call recording which is reportedly no longer available unless you change ROMs or hack the device, which I now finally have the capability of doing.
The easiest way to see this anomaly in action is to download one of the very best call recording apps here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appstar.callrecorderpro&hl=en and try changing the source. It won't let you because it says the phone doesn't support 'hardware-based' recording.
If anyone knows how to get past this, I would appreciate the help very much!
