[Q] Stock ROM - HTC Desire S

I installed some custom ROMs on a HTC Desire S (HBOOT 2.00.0002, RADIO 3822.10.08.04_M) and I'd like to revert to the stock ROM.
Any chance to find a ROM rather than a RUU?
Also, what's the difference between:
RUU_Saga_S_HTC_Europe_2.10.401.5_Radio_20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.08.044
RUU_Saga_S_HTC_Europe_2.10.401.8_Radio_20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.08.04
RUU_Saga_S_HTC_Europe_2.10.401.9_Radio_20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.08.04

I've installed ICE DS v.8.0 FINAL, I like it smooth faster and goog graphics, many things are coming from RUU.

Stock update + Root

Hi guys,
I've got just a quick question, I'm comming from an HTC Desire phone so I'm use to flashing things etc...
I've been using leedroid rom on Desire for the lightness and simplicity of his rom, close to stock ones. Since Desire S has no need for A2SD I was thinking staying on stock roms, I'm juste looking for speed and stability.
But I discovered my operator gave me a wonderful brand rom (Bouygue FR) so I've S-Off, Root, and I'm now about to flash shipped HTC europe rom to get an official HTC rom, then I'm planing to make OTA update as normally but I was wondering, is there any way to get root on the HTC rom ?
I'm not too confident with flashing all the roms available with sense 3.0 etc...
I need a stable and easy to use phone.
Can someone help me ?
thanks
I'm sorry, but I don't have much information to give you on completing your goal, but I can point you in the right direction.
I would start here.

[Q] few questions about sensation XE

hi guys,
Im new to sensation XE and I have few questions about it.
first of all, its not my mobile its my girlfriends so i dont really have access to it 24/7 as i would like to it runs 2.3.4 sens 3.0
ive been reading through the process of rooting and different roms just to have everything clear before i start to mess about with it lol
right so.... which rom would you recommend ( very stable as she s a girl and fast cos she s a geek too ) ?
is there any other difference between sens 3 and 3.5 apart from panorama mode??
and finally, is it possible to undervolt it in the CWM or just through the setvsel ??
one more thinng i forgot about .....is swype available on sensation? i ve seen trace thing on her phone but couldnt really get it working ( only 2 mins of trying as she had to go to work )
thanks a lot for help
regards,
There are many stable Roms... Sense 3.5 is minor improvement in ui from 3.0... I like 3.5 more
there are several stable ROMs... I like insertcoin and stock by Eddy the most though most have proven to be very good and stable...
To underclock you have to flash custom kernels...like faux and bricked kernel...
Faux kernel comes built-in ARHD ROM... Many others have custom roms... RCmix and elegancia Roms are awesome too.. Not to forget the ARHD which has its own beauty...
You can install any ROM with stock kernel and flash custom kernel..
For girls i would suggest you stick to Stock kernel... I found that most stable and gives good battery life...
thanks a lot it looks like the process is a bit different to my moto defy ( happy owner ) ...btw is it the same as on moto defy that if you flash newest stock rom there is no chance of downgrading ?
so there is no chance of undervolting and overclocking the stock rom with stock kernel ?
do you know where i can download a stock rom from just in case something would go wrong??
sorry for so many questions
Rooting S-off is the simplest procedure... There are several guides to do that in Android development.. Follow the one by x-Viper-x
Make sure you are on hboot 1.8 or below...
Here is guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300
There is no downgrading problem...u can easily shift from sense 3.5 to 3.0 (2.3.5 to 2.3.4) but Only if you upgrade your hboot by flashing latest RUU, you can't downgrade that...
Just don't flash official RUU roms .. They can be flashed for warranty sake only... ONLY flash stock Rooted roms by EddyOS if you want pure stock experience without upgrading hboot/radio...
Here are Eddyos stock rooted ROM threads
http://forum.xda-developers.com/search.php?searchid=1852412
If you really want official RUU then follow the thread below... Find your radio, software version and match with files on site, download and flash it...but it will relock (s-on) your device..and latest ones might upgrade your hboot... Then revolutionary method might not work to s-off...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074559
Stock kernels can't be underclocked ...only customs have the ability and u can overclock that too
Thanks a lot jjdoctor, i wanted to ask about RUU roms but you ve made it already a bit clearer
although the stock kernel cannot be undervolted, can I install some mods on it ? suck as 1% step battery or change a battery icon or install amaze camera ??
thanks again and im going to read some more stuff

[Q] Need rooted official rom

Hey, Yesterday i rooted my HTC Desire HD with the advanced ace hack kit which first downgraded it and then hacked it ( clockwork recovery s-off etc. ) After that i started searching for a rom thats 2.3.5 ( you konw sense stuff ) I installed cyanogenmod7 the newest and its eating my nerves, Its like holind a new device, So can someone please please point me to a official stock room 2.3.5 (4,12,x) WHICH IS ROOTED. I want all those stock themes stuff menus, way of boot etc with the root as bonus. I cant deal with all the fancy themes and 2.3.7 so i just want it to be back to normal + root.

You might wanna try out Android Revolution HD, which is as close to stock as possible, with a few improvements, and a few apps by default that are not present on the stock ROM. It's the best experience with Sense I've ever had (Because I assume you miss Sense).
I was using it on my HTC Sensation, and it's a great ROM. Heard good things about InsertCoin too, but I'm not sure if it's available for your phone...
Look up Android Revolution HD for Desire HD on xda or use the link I provided to you.
Cheers!

[Q] How to instal Gingerbread?

Hi to all. I am new here and bit comfused. Moved from Sony Ericsson to HTC sensation. I manage to unlock bootloader, S-OFF and update radio.
My configuratin now is:
Firmware 3.33
HBOT-1.27.1100
Rario 11.24a.3504.31.m
Manage to instal some ICS roms but my phone is all the time bit lagy and lack of sharpnes and fast response.
So, how could i revert to gingerbread, i find some gingerbread stock roms and tryed to instal ther fro cwm (wiping data-cache-dalvik)
but phone wouldnt go further than HTC logo. :crying:
What i need to do to be able to install Gingerbread???
Thanks to all
You need to downgrade your firmware I think (anyone please correct me if I'm wrong) but gingerbread will only work with firmware version 1.17. See kohr-ah's thread to downgrade.
For the lag, I would try a jellybean ROM because it's integrated with "project butter" which reduces (basically eliminates) the lag. I would seriously try albinoman's 4.2.2 ROM. It's silky smooth and has minor bugs.
Here's albino's ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37121632
I think you should try it before reverting to gingerbread
Sent from my HTC Sensation
Thanks
Thanks Bro
No problem! Glad to help!
Sent from my HTC Sensation
AndroidSupporter318 has right
flash gb firmware from kohr-ah's thread first
then flash the gb rom
done
Thanks
Thanks to both of u, i actualy did it. Instaled 1.17. firmware first and then gingerbread, it works, Very happy.

hboot 2.16
i prefer to Sense Roms. others is really useless for me.
yes s-off and super cid.
and i am confused. roms, kernels, boot, hboot, cid , s-off, firmwares , interface differences... bla bla bla
liberty rom is stable and very likely. even also 4.3v. my purposes is; i installed the rom but what i need to do else ? or this is it. thats mean libery rom v7 installed, s-off, hboot 2.16 enough. no any things

Roms : You said it you want Liberty rom (Sense 5.5). If I may, I advise you to have a look on MaximusHD (Sense 5)
Kernel (=boot.img) : There is actually no custom kernel available for Liberty, so nothing to add here.
hboot (=bootloader) : You are on 2.16, Liberty is compatible with both 2.15 and 2.16, so you have nothing to change here. I would had that most of AOSP based roms are made for 2.15, while almost all Sense (5 and 5.5) roms are made/compatible with 2.16. You want a Sense rom so stay on 2.16.
S-OFF/CID : I think you know what's the aim of having superCID and S-OFF or you wouldn't have done all that.
Radio : It manages wireless communication of your device : 2G, 3G, HSPA, even Wifi. If wrong radio is used with wrong rom, it results in bad signal quality, wifi issues or/and random reboots.
If your Radio is actually 1.20, with Liberty rom you probably don't have access to HSPA. You can actually fix it by flashing this radio through recovery.
