[Q] Is it mandatory to connect the charger with the HDTV Adapter ?

Hi Guys,
I've got my HDTV Adapter for a stock Galaxy Note 10.1, I'm a bit disappointed because it looks like it's mandatory to connect the charger (the cable already has got an extra slot for connecting the charger) in order to make the note send what it is displayed on its screen to the cable so I can see it on the computer screen for example.
Does anybody have an idea if this is true or not ? I'd love the idea if it is an option but not an obligation !!!!

My experience is yes, power is required. But this can be as easy as plugging in the usb to the tv or monitor if it has a usb port, you dont HAVE to use the charger
Which adaptor did you use?

Well, let me tell you why I'm a bit disappointed, I used to have an iPad which used in a lot of meetings moving here in and there with my pad and cable, now I've to have a power source around or even a computer, with a at least two cables with/without a charger, I'm not bothered with that at home but while one business this note didnn't prove to be a stand-alone, I'm not sure if an app that may simulate charging can deceicve tthe note on that aspect or not but so far, this can be considered a draw-back

[Q] phone wont charge or connect to computer with usb

ok. so i own a lg nexus 4 and sgh-t959v(samsung galaxy s 4g). the galaxy s will not charge with any usb cord nor connect to computer. i have tried new, used and old chargers, ive returned to pure stock firmware and still nothing. it will only work using the lg nexus 4 charger/usb. what is going on?
It won't charge or connect but it will go back to stock?
That's awesome. You probably have a broken usb connector.
It will connect to computer and charge using only a lg manufactured nexus 4 usb cord, so idk if that means its broken?
Help? Anybody?
Sounds like, from what you said, it works with that one LG Nexus 4 USB cable, it just doesn't like generic cords. There's nothing we can do to make your generic cords work. Hence no responses.
If it's still under warranty or a phone replacement plan, you can try to get it repaired for cheap. If it's not, you can either try to replace your USB port or, y'know, try different cables. Otherwise... pray that LG cable never dies. Sorry.

What im going to guess (ive fixed alot of android phones hardware problems) is your micro-usb port is shot.
More than likely it isnt replaceable because most android phones have them micro-saudered onto the motherboard.
I know the only ones that can be replaced are the Galaxy Note 1 & 2 the DNA & like one or two more HTCs.

What I would do is call the Manufacturers help line; because, unless it's on a flex it cannot be replaced. Check and see if you can RMA it or if you can get the part and do it yourself.

USB cable issue

Hello everyone!!! I just bought this device a couple of days ago. I live in India and bought through the Indian specific system of invites. The problem I faced today is that the usb came was connect my OPO to the laptop as an mtp in the beginning but now it only charges the phone. But when I use another usb cable, it connects as an mtp!! I really want to use only the oneplus usb cable and no other. Is the cable done for??? Will I have to but another one?? plzz help!!!
I'm pretty sure it's broken yeah. But you can order another data cable from oneplus though.

Broken this soon!! I have got the phone like just 10 days ago!! How could it happen??

Not being recognised by PC - Battery and phone USB port changed. Will charge (ish)

Hi, this is a bit of a hit an hope question
My nexus 5 will charge as long as i use a certain charger (its from a Sony z3) but wont from nearly all other USB chargers I have including multiport ones that are supposed to give out 2.1A.
The phone also isn't recognised by a PC (ive tested across 3) in either adb or fastboot
Ive changed the battery and USB assembly twice
Any other ideas ?
Other members have had problems when using cheap third-party replacement USB flex cables. Is the replacement cable oem?

It was this issue that caused me to change the cable
The phone now has an oem internal data/charging USB flex cable inside?

If the problem exists after changing the internal USB flex cable, it could be a connection problem on the motherboard.
