[Q] Install Custom ROM issues - HTC One E8

Hey,
I am looking to install a custom ROM on my Chinese HTC E8, but somehow it won't let me copy the file (0PAJIMG) I found in the developer section to my SD-card. (Everything else is okay to copy, just not the custom ROM I need)
My phone is unlocked, rooted and I wiped it several times. Do I need to switch S-off or something?
I have looked for an answer to this question for several hours and have not yet found a satisfying answer, so I thought I would turn to this knowledgeable and awesome community myself to find an answer.
Looking forward to every reply. Thanks

I DID IT!!!
Finally figured it out. If anybody has the same issue please don't hesitate to ask. Even though I didn't get answer I will try to help!

First, 0PAJIMG not a custom Rom. That is shipped rom from HTC.
Second, if you want to copy 0PAJIMG to sd card, just delete the ".zip" from its named. And after copied, you need add ".zip" back.

Thanks for the input!
Solved it by removing the SD from the phone, adding the zip file and then putting it back in.
Voila!
So are you saying I could have just installed the Gapps package on the Chinese firmware?

Process Failed
Whenever im trying to flash to stock rom trwp says failed... why so plsss help.. i hve unlocked bootlocker and rooted

Hi there. My E7 is a single sim version bought in HK. It's not working now as I accidentally wiped the OS (so stupid ).
So is there a custom/stock rom that I can flash it back to my E7 and get it to work again?
(My phone was unlocked, rooted, with a twrp recovery installed.)
Thanks guys!

What ROM did you flash?

Could you give me a link to the ROM you flashed onto your E8?
I have an E8 from China... ive unlocked the bootloader and rooted it but it lacks google apps because the stock rom is chinese.
Is there any way for me to flash gapps onto the stock rom? and if not, what custom rom did you flash?

Its an odd one dude, try getting a fresh copy of the ROM, then shutting down your phone and repeat the wiping process and reflash ?

I have had similar issues when a rom zip is corrupted. Like blackcell said you should try redownloading the rom or trying another rom just to check if that zip is the issue.

Help! Help! Urgent!

i was going to unroot my phone which i have followed this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2173931. However, i am stuck with the error 43 which saying that "Your device is S-ON & you are trying to use an RUU that has software number less than your current software number." And now, i am unable to access to the recovery, nor any rom. I think it is because i have relocked my bootloader through all the unrooting process. Any solution for me to reopen my phone or something? really have no idea...
I also always get error 43 now i did flash to custom rom

So, do you know how to solve the question?if I flash a custom rom that is lower than the ruu software number, can it solve the problem. And, can ruu be flashed on butterfly without unrooting it? So that, i can unroot it after I flashed the ruu rom.

Feel sorry to ask you some questions again because I am still new to these kind of stuffs. As for the stock recovery, I did something about recovery which was twrp recovery. According to your guide, does that mean I am required to flash this stock recovery via fast boot, and extract the backup file. Then, flash the boot.img via fast boot. After that, I can pull the plug out, and install the backup zip file. Is it?? Btw, appreciate your help really much.
No, you install the nandroid backup with TWRP or CWM, the boot.img included in fastboot mode and the original recovery after.

Hi guys...Im all out of ideas, and I don't know where else to turn. I know I was supposed to look every where, and even ask my mother..but that only would have gotten me chancla slapped. Anyway...Here is the issue: I bought an HTC Butterfly clone. I have looked high and low, for ways to root it, but I cant seem to find something that will even remotely work! The mass storage option is greyed out, so I can't connect it to my pc. I cant boot in bootloader mode, I have tried this since about 5:30 pm today, and Ive yet to see the bootloader mode come up. I have rooted phones before, but this time I am TOTALLY stumped! This cell is a dual sim quad core version. Here are the details (as much as I can give you any way): PLEASE, PLEASE HELP ME ROOT!
MODEL:I900
ANDROID VERSION: 4.1.1
BASEBAND VERSION: MTK6589 (Quad Core)
KERNERL VERSION: 2.6.35.7 [email protected] #3
SOFTWARE VERSION: X920e_v1
HARDWARE VERSION: 1.1.0
And, I dont know if this info helps any..but, In the keyboard settings, I see komoxo input method? Geez, at this point anything may be it!
Thank you so much for your help, and once again, I apologize for posting on this thread, but I did not find where else to post..

Oppo 1201 stuck on rua1 autoCWM v5.5.0.4 for 1201 recovery

Thing is, i rooted my phone using KingRoot v5.0.5, rua1 autoCWM v5.5.0.4 for 1201 as recovery (Clockwork Mod), and MobileUncle tools app to change my stock oppo recovery to CWM recovery. Turns out that the rom file i downloaded isn't compatible with my Oppo Neo 5 phone. Now I'm stuck at a bootloop but can still access cwm recovery mode and fastboot mode. I need serious help. Can anybody suggest how can i get out of this situation? I think I tried every tutorials I found out there on the internet.
1. Tried flashing the stock rom using cwm recovery and it said status 7 error. Failed to install
2. Tried replacing cwm recovery to original stock recovery using minimal adb drivers and fastboot. It said partition recovery not support flash
3. Tried flashing using SP Flash Tool. It didnt detect my device. It didnt work. Stuck on the download screen
4. When i used adb device installer, I noticed that my manufacturer changed to HTC indstead of Oppo. I dont know if its something important but i just noticed that.
Pls notice me devs. Anyone, anything that can help

About your problems. With flashing stock rom, it gave status 7 . Can solve by editing the rom, using 7zip and note pad++. Search google for more infos. ^^

So, I just read this reply and immediately searched google for additional info. I found a link named techulk ( just google it coz i cant post links yet) and I recommend this link because I think it is the only detailed and specific one you can find out there. So I followed the steps and in the update-script i found the "assert" line of code then deleted it. Didn't work. So I started over again to the first step and read the whole update-script. Turns out that the code from Oppo's update script is different than others. The "assert" line of code isn't the one you should delete. I found on the top part of the code a "get product" line of code, which is the one meant by the tutorial to delete. Now, i edited, re-zipped and installed the edited stock rom i got just like the tutorial says. And boom, it worked just now! Back to Oppo 1201 stock rom!:good:Thank yo so much HuyNology for replying to my concern.
PS: I made this as specific as possible as someone might have a similar problem to mine. I think this would be a great help to them because there is only a little information one can find about these things for Oppo 1201/Oppo Neo 5. Pardon for the long thread.
