Hi new to the forums!
Recently flashed CROMi-X to my tablet and I noticed that the battery drains faster than when using the stock software. Is that just because CROMi uses up more power? Also I was looking for a way to select different power modes is that still possible in CROMi?
Thanks for any help

Yes you can still select the power modes as you would. It depends upon what you selected in the installer but generally you can't have a faster more responsive rom and not use more battery.
If you chose that's kernel you can drop the frequency on it as well as Under Volt to save some battery Reinstall over the top and have a ply with the options.

Just curious, in your experience which rom is the most efficient for you?
By efficient i am talking about battery life and speed.
I'm using revolver and as of recently my battery isnt as good as it used to be.
Ive heard great things about revolution and krakd, but im hesitant on testing their battery life my self. can anybody who has used multiple transformer roms confirm which one is the most efficient for them?
I found revolver gave me the best battery life after trying them all. When all is said in done, the ROM probably has very little impact on the battery life, it is how you use and manage the device.
I have decent undervolt settings and toggle my brightness setting wisely. Considering the display east the most battery try lowering the brightness.
Also, fully charge your transformer and in recovery wipe battery stats, it will for sure help out.
If nothing works, try re-flashing the ROM, and start out fresh like that (of course after backing up all of your apps).
revolver is the best in my opionion. The least bloat from what ive seen.

I see a great deal of people writing about poor performance on this tab and real, real bad lag and benchmarks ect and i know on stock this machine does not perform awesome but i just wonder... are you guys aware there are 2 performance mode settings in the stock rom? if you go to settings, then power saver, then scroll down to and click sytem performance, then change it to performance mode. then there is another one right on your task bar thats real easy to find, says power saving mode balanced and performance. turn both settings to performance and i found it worked better for me when i was on stock. just curious if some of yall did that or not.

The one in power saver is just that.
Work on low battery if it is on.
So I just leave it in middle setting.
You want to get the most out of the tablet? Root that sucker and overclock it. I run mine at mine at 1.5 GHz and it'll handle just about everything I throw at it.

how do i make it automatically select PERFORMANCE MODE every time it boots up?
currently, it'll reset to balanced mode when i restart the tablet
As far as I know, you can't.
Hello guys,
as for me the most annoying part of a smartphone is running out of battery when there is no chance to recharge, I want to collect your experieces with different roms concerning battery life.
WHich rom gave you the longest battery?
Cheers
There are many factors not only the ROM.
It's the kernel you flashed, it's the settings you have chosen... and at least it's your daily behavior with your phone....
Usually you have a better battery life with custom kernels...

as it was answered
custom kernel with feature as ability to set minimum CPU frequency and probablly voltage control
and U'll have to try some of them in order to find out the wright one
Longest battery life i get with stock rom so far (around 20h with moderate usage)
for custom roms:
Best battery life gave me PAC-Man rom with bubbav4 kernel - which was almost like stock.
ViperOneS had the worst battery life for me.
just try some roms and kernels, it also depends on how you use your phone of course.
in my experience, 4.2.2 roms have the lowest battery life ~3.5 hours screen on + wifi on (active Web surfing) with auto brightness.
Viper rom 2.1 ~4 hours
aosp 4.1.2 (cm10) and viper 1.2.1 ~4.5
very rough numbers obviously so no one roast me. remember I'm talking about total screen on time as reported by the battery app.
The newer jb 4.2 roms are very popular and have a lot of great features, but if battery is your thing, try out some of the older android and sense roms.

For me it was pretty much a tie between Liquid Smooth with Bubba Kernel(OC to 1890 for heavy periods, 1134 for light usage, and complete collapse of the CPU when the screen is off) And Viper One S with the Stock Kernel. Like everyone said though you'll experience wildly different numbers depending on what settings you use and how much
Viper has always had phenomenal battery life.

Complete collapse of Cpu when screen off? Is that pm sleep mode 1 or 0?
Thank you very much. Unfortunately my phone jack is broken so I cannot test your configs, will report after repair though.
Cheers

There's a setting on through Android Tweaker that gives you the option to control how the phone deep sleeps basically

This is one thing i have noticed that power saving mode lags a lot more in official uptate than in preview lpx13d. Has any one noticed this. Also does changing kernel n tuning cpu governors n frequencies affect power saver? i generally underclock to 2ghz and my governer is elementalx i/o is row and buffer size is 512

I think it's normal.
If you want no lag when using Power Saving Mode, use faux kernel.
Because it has turbo boost, and works good with Power Saving with no lag.
Yeah, I noticed lag too when battery saver was on too. I did not even have but maybe 3 apps open in recent apps. It definitely was not just a little lag either, it was pretty bad. I definitely would not say that is 'normal' considering when you put an M8 or any other device in battery saving mode, it lags absolutely nothing like that. I wonder if it is because they have the CPU too under clocked for battery saving more. Regardless of the cause that is definitely something Google needs to work out.

You can try what I suggest above. On Lollipop, the one I know is stock kernel is not the best anymore.
I personally use Hybrid Kernel. For the moment, I see it as the most updated kernel simply because all of the drivers are updated, and there's some CAF code but it works on AOSP wonderfully.
Keep in mind, there are plenty of other good kernels and I have tested them all. This is what works best for ME.
I noticed the same issue with my S4 5.0.1. Turning on power save mode causes lag especially when scrolling anda tapping. I used Root Booster in Battery mode also if it makes the lag worse.
Hello Dear XDA Users, I have been using this phone since it first came out in 2013, I only noticed this problem 2 years ago where the battery drains incredibly fast I have to charge it only 30 min after using it I also noticed that, and just after a 10min use, the area around the camera at the back becomes so hot you can't hold it (exceeds 80 degrees) I've resorted to changing the battery but it just added a new problem which is that the battery percentage when it hits 40% suddenly drops to 0%.
