[MOD]{Stereo+deaf mode+mic rec fix} [Volume Mod] Ben Volume v.1

Its simple. A lot of sound mods out there but none of them suited my needs. Each of them had different mods that the other didnt have so i copiled a mixed_paths.xml with @olokos sound mod v 2.5 adding @odl 's mic fix and @dontbelive stereo speaker mod v 2 and made a Monster Stereo Volume Mod. Ben Volume
Req:
Rooted 4.4.4 Stock Sony Xperia Z1/Z1C/Z1S/Zu
Instalation:
Just download, rename the file to mixer_paths.xml and copy the file to system/etc and set the correct permisions.
WARNING:
THIS MOD CAN SERIOUSLY DAMAGE YOUR EARPIECE. DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK ITS BETTER TO LOWER THE VOLUME A BIT WHEN LISTENING TO THE SPEAKER

I suggest 87 for volume on both channels. This value is sufficient for louder volume without risk of damage.
The problem with mic occurs when we set more bass for speakers:

I'm using S16_LE now, less bass but no problems with mic. @dontbelive is working to get more Bass without trouble for mic recording.

[Q] Stereo to mono app?

Is it possibile that there isn't an app to convert the output of the N5 from stereo to mono?
I know that Poweramp does the trick but I want to have a mono output with spotify and Play Music.
Is there something in the store? I tried a lot of DSP manager but I coudn't find one who does the job.

Thought the official lollipop had That in it for pple with handicaps or whatever the political correct term is

The system audio. I want to listen my music through spotify or play music but in mono, not stereo. Of course if I have the album on my N5 with poweramp I can listen in mono, but with the other apps (also youtube, for example) it's impossible.

I've tried searching everywhere but it seems the best solution is to buy a stereo to mono plug adapter (less than $5 on ebay).

Of you don't mind me asking why are you going from stereo to mono?

Not an app, but if you are rooted you can edit your /system/etc/mixer_paths.xml file to "permanently" force all audio that is routed through
the headphone jack to be played in mono. Tell me what exactly you want, i.e. left audio channel on left headphone channel only, right audio channel on right headphone channel only, left audio channel mapped to left and right on headphone, right audio channel mapped to left and right headphone, or a mono mix on both headphone channels, and I can help you get set up.

Yeah I know, but I read that the volume will be a lot lower..
I don't know why Google doesn't add it in the accessibility menu. I know that IOS got this, but also some Samsung and HTC smartphones. I tried to look on my LG G Pad, and it has this feature.

I can listen freely my music in the office, but I don't want to put both the earphones. Of course if I listen to some stereo music I can lose a lot of details. It's not a matter of life and death, but I'm just confused why Google does not at least consider this.

It will be not the easiest method (because I want to be able to listen, when I'm not in the office, stereo music) but it could be interesting. I'd like to have the same sound mixed on both channels, since I sometime use the left earphone and other time the right one.

you can buy this adapter - http://cable-trader.co.uk/items/3_5mm-stereo-plug-to-3_5mm-mono-socket , but i think stereo will be mixed only to one earphone and another will not work at all .

The following should do what you want. However, you need to reboot your phone after you made the change.
In your case you may want to keep two mixer_paths.xml files handy so you can swap them out as desired followed by a reboot, which could be done automatically by Tasker.
Very kludgy, I know, but it will do the trick.

Headphone output

Hey guys,
Had a little browse, but couldn't find anything for the Z3 specifically. I want to increase the headphone volume, past the limit the phone currently has. I have tried editing the values in the xml file, but it doesn't seem to do anything. I have seen there are a few soundmods for KK but can't find anything for LP (.726 to be precise)
Anyone know how I can do this? I literally just want louder headphones, as the quality is great, but the volume is pants with headphones.

Yeah look for Viper Sound Mod - it is compatible with Lollipop and I actually installed it (on my Skyrocket, not Z3) for low volume sound. You'll want to convert it to a system app after install for better stability.

Its a general all round boost I wanted, so for like soundcloud, walkman etc, Viper seems to be the one for me, however it just ruined my phone, so I've wiped data, reinstalled android and starting again

In Titanium Backup, tap the app, tab over one to "special features"and select "convert to system app".

For whatever reason the Z3 needs to have "headphones-regulation" modified in the mixer_paths.xml. I am not sure if "headphones" needs to be modified as well... but I did it anyways and matched them.
Make HPHL/HPHR Volume both 20 (Don't exceed 20, it won't work then) and crank the RX1 Digital Volume & RX2 Digital Volume values. I have them set to 84 and I guess it looks like it goes to 124... but it will get really really loud and probably hit distortion. So don't over do this value... try it at roughly 84 and see how you like it there.
(The Z2 never had the "headphones-regulation"...)

Did you convert it to a system app? Also I think you have to disable whatever Sony's audio effects app is called in order for the two not to but heads. [emoji4]

I managed to get it working by disabling the Sony music thing in developers tools. Works well, but has highlighed some real flaws in my crappy gym headphones haha. Time to bring out the DJ cans I think!

What did you disable in dev tools?
Also did you have to convert it to a system app?

You need to untick "use Nuplayer (experimental) " in developer settings

Samsung S7 / S7 Edge Qualcomm Snapdragon SD820 Sound / Volume Levels - mixer paths

Thought I'd start a thread for the Qualcomm sd820 S7 / S7 Edge Volume/Sound levels, as it's different than the other S7 / S7E variants. Instead of changing system/etc/mixer_paths.xml, we need to edit mixer_paths_tasha.xml
On my device I have both /system/etc and /root/etc, and for some reason I need to edit /root/etc to make it stick.
Here's how to change the Headphone Max Volume. The file you need to modify is mixer_paths_tasha.xml. In there, look for the following code snippet:

The analog gain, "HPHL/R Volume" is already maxed out at 20. You can safely raise the various "Digital Volume" entries by 8 dB to 84 without adding any distortion. Beyond 84 (likely up to 124!)
I'm hoping this will spur more discussion on our devices' sound, as the chipset, I believe, allows for some really great mods, bringing sound quality up to match HTC etc.. I don't personally know much about the settings in mixer_paths, but please feel free to mess around and post your findings (and PLEASE first make a BACKUP of your mixer_paths_tasha.xml file!!!!!)
Also, permissions on the file should be 644, I just used root explorer so there was no need to add new permissions.

Qualcomm sd820 S7/S7E Headphone Volume Boost [root]

Just thought I'd put this up because I find the stock headphones volume way too low on my Qualcomm S7E.
TO MAKE HEADPHONES LOUDER:
- the mixer_paths.xml is set up different on our SD820 S7/S7E, so here's how to make headphone volume louder, if you're so inclined.
- usually the file is located at /system/etc, though I have both /root/etc and /system/etc, and I needed to edit /root/etc to make it stick.
