I haven't looked too much into particulars of everything, but I did a setup on my old phone where I linked the g+ cache to its SD card
And it works awesome
and the short version of how I understand things work for your situation :
you tell it to take /sdcard/android/obb...
and link it to /mnt/media_rw/usbdisk/...
and it will ask you to transfer over the files, and let it do its thing...
if you check out his xda thread I linked ya, he talks about game data and OTG, so see what he has to say about it...

Way to backup applications to sd card easy way

I just did this as a reply to another topic. An easy way to backup and run applications from your SD CARD is to go to the Android Market and download App Manager. It is free and what it does is backup all the applications that you have on your phone to your SD Card and also it allows the option to run all the applications directly from the SD Card. I just did it and it worked. Try it out and comment on how it works.
This works without creating an ext2 partition? Have you actually deleted the app from your on-board memory, leaving only the copy found on your SD card?
I'm skeptical to say the least.
It doesnt let you run apps from the SD Card, It will let you back up and install apps from the Card.

And you are right to be. It doesn't do that, it merely creates a backup on the SD card. The author never claimed that it would do any other thing.

Astro does this. Just open it up, hit menu, then app manager.

Oh, my bad. I meant the author of AppManager.
I wasn't too clear
In response to the replies, yes I was a bit wrong. However this does help in certain occasions such as if one downloads an application and wants to back it up and/or share it with another person. In my case, I wanted to find a way to be able to share MP4 Youtube downloader with my friends as it had been removed from the market. But I am thankful for all the criticism as it is better to right than partiallly right. Sorry for misleading anyone.

G2X has 125mb APK (NFS Shift)

I follow Paul Obrien on Twitter, One of his entries today were about the G2X. He said and I quote that the "G2X has a 125mb APK (NFS shift)in the system partition"
What the heck does that mean and is this good or bad. Sorry if it sounds Noobish but tried looking it up but didn't understand some of the explanations I was finding. Thanks for any help.
He's talking about the pre-installed Need For Speed game. I guess it's very large and eating up valuable system storage. I deleted it.
what he said ^^^ but 125mb isnt big at all when you have 8gb internal storage

All that space isn't available for the system though.
can you please upload this apk !
I delete my....
because I was pay for this game....so i was think than i will download new version, but when i try to install app tell me unsupported device ! lol
The space reserved for apps is something like 1.5GB, if you're using all of that even with NFS there you're doing something wrong.

Thanks guys, My Google search explanation wasn't nearly as clear as yours.
There's no point to deleting apks from /system because when you install apps they go into /data anyway, so xtra /system space does not help you in any way, unless you repartion
unless you delete the 125mb APK and don't reinstall it like I did.

GTA3 data must put in your external sd folder/data.
You must move it to external sd first, please click "move data" to do it.
Remember to go to setting ,check data/data and Android/data.
It works fine on my LG P990.

If your external sdcard speed is slower than internal sd.
The game will execute slowly.
You can use sdcard speed test app to measure.
If necessary, change to a fast microsd.

It has a solution...
Just click on mount button before exiting gl to sd app... Then try playing through launcher menu...

install any gameloft game or u can try other game also...
just run the app....
click on mount on the top...
open the game from the gl to sd app...
download the data normally....over wifi... data will be saved to external sd in tje games folder( if u r downloading data of gameloft game) else in data folder on ur ext. sd...
IF U DONT HAV WIFI.... then
the data u hav on ur sdcard can be moved via this app in the extra menu of the app...
also u may try pasting data directly to the games folder in ext. sd (eg: sd/external_sd/games/asphalt6)... ant then run the app through gl to sd app..
if u wanna run the app normally from the application drawer click the mount button and exit the app... then run the app normally...

Miscellaneous files?

I still havent seen an answer for this issue, but I have over 6GB of Miscellaneous Files in Setting->Storage. nothing in there shows that much info, so I know its from loading different ROMs. I have no idea how to get rid of these files. I've been looking all around CWM for something to clear, but I'm not too confident about messing with that.
Does anyone have an idea of how to clear up this stuff?
Do you have a few nandroid backups? Those will register there. If you're using TWRP, there's a TWRP folder and you can remove them or archive them off. Clockwork is the same, I just don't remember offhand where it stores them.
If this isn't it, you can install busybox, and then either adb shell, or use a terminal emulator on the phone and run `du /mnt/sdcard -hl -d 1` you can then drill down to the directories which are the biggest offenders. Changing the 1 to another number increases the depth that it reports.

Okay. I finally managed to get this started. I went through terminal emulator and found that the /sdcard is only 7.6GB while the number in the main settings says over 10. /android has 2GB from some games, but I can't find anything showing where the 6GB of miscellaneous file is at. Even cwm is only 1.7GB from the one backup I have.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
I've been fiddling with this for the last day or so and found that under miscellaneous file, System Memory now shows up as taking 3.67 GB of data. I've been looking everywhere to see where that much info could be, but I'm kinda stuck now.
I now know where that extra space has gone, but I have no idea how to free it up.

Galaxy S4 Miscellaneous Files: what and where are they?
So I'm getting a warning that the internal SD is out of memory, I've moved all movable apps to external SD, photos, music too.
Rooted and have TWIP as recovery *BUT* before I install a custom ROM, I want a backup *BUT* there's no room as the backup wants to use internal SD (not external)
Somehow Miscellaneous Files show over 8GB but in My Files it only shows about 200MB addressable (erasable). I deleted all Dropbox files and saved 200MB.
Where the heck are the other 7.8GB of files? How can I see them please?
Thanks in advance.

Yes its kinda simple, at least it worked for me. Don't forget to thank me
Download ES Explorer
and go into the /data/media folder.
the troublesome files are there. Careful what you delete tho. For myself I had old remnants from another ROM and the entire rom zip file.
Don't forget the thanx button.
A lot of that is cached data for apps. If you use apps like gmusic, it caches music files to the device and that cache folder will grow. Root access will allow you to clear all your data es, including hidden files and that size will drop.

There's nothing in that folder.
So not that simple.
If you're rooted, get Cache Cleaner NG and let it wipe all that unnecessary data. I run it weekly.
With roms like gummy, you can click on Misc and see which app has all the data... It's likely something like Vine (it had a huuuuuuuge cache) or another app like gmusic.

This application is what you need https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/apps2sd-partition-sd-card-link-apps-to-t3122919. It allows you to link apps to your sd card ext4 partition. You have to re-partition your sdcard to two partitions. First as a normal FAT32 partition and other one as a EXT4 partition.
