My Pico is stuck at the HTC logo at startup. I was using CM11 RC2 with mounts2sd, then it rebooted suddenly and struck at the logo. I tried to reinstall the rom but it says the installation failed. I tried it many times with many roms (cm11 weekly, omni, carbon and even cm9)and it sometimes gets installed but struck at the HTC logo. Will there be any use if I tried to restore a backup? If so where can I find the backup coz I deleted my previous one and don't have one currently.
And...
When I tries to change the recovery to aw3sm3 or twrp or cwm it says 'malformed 1 byte' error. I tried to open the img file with rar but it gives an error. I tried downloading from the internet but all the recovery files were like that. I even tried on my friends laptop. What might be the reason?

For your first problem: Its may be because your nand is burnt.
Solution:
1. Download superwipe
2. Flash superwipe
3. Flash your desired Rom
For your 2nd problem: First try to flash the recovery in fastboot, if it doesn't work try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54475962
Hit thanks if i helped

Hello everyone
i am new to xda and Android
i have a htc evo 3d smartphone, i unlocked the bootloader via htc dev method and rooted phone by binary4 script. next i installed rom manager and clock work mod recovery. i downloaded the wild-for-night 8th feb 2013 android 4.2.2 zip file and gapps. i installed these two zip however my phone is always stuck in boot logo of cm screen. i tried installed 3 other roms but the same problems happen. no matter how many times i try to wide data/factory reset, cache, delvic and system is still is stuck. i have also tried flashing the boot file in the zip but that makes it even worse it boot halfway then keeps rebooting forever, i fixed that but restoring the boot from a nandroid backup i made from the official rom. after 5 weeks of searching i still couldn't find any solution.:crying:
any help will be appreciated thanks
i am s-on hboot 1.53.0007 and my evo is gsm

Hello,i accidentally deleted my operating system,i tried everything to flash a new one ,every custom roms out there.
The TWRP version is 2.5.0.0
Everytime i execute the ZIP files from TWRP errors appear :
Error flashing zip '/sdcard/BackToBasicsV2.zip'
Error executing updater binary in zip : 'sdcard/BackToBasics'
Could you provide me a working tutorial?I tried every tutorial from here and nothing worked,i don't know what to do anymore.
I had a similar problem in which I accidentally pressed factory reset in bootloader instead of recovery (WHY ARE THEY SO CLOSE?!). Anyway, I ended up having to factory reset from recovery and wipe everything on my phone, then I adb pushed a rom to my phone and it finally let me flash it. Although I recommend waiting until someone else posts something as this is more of a "last resort" lol

Still not working, anyone please, any other ideas?
Okay now, I need some HELP desperately ! The problem started when I tried to install int2ext script in CM10.2 weekly 8. It didn't work as expected. So I rebooted only to find a heap load of FCs waiting for me. I rebooted once again, but this time it didn't get past the boot animation. Also, after this, whenever I try to access the recovery from bootloader, it just gives a black screen ! I also tried reinstalling the recovery (Philz) via fastboot, but in vain. I also tried different recoveries including CWM and TWRP but i had the same result as above. In the case of TWRP, when I tried to access it, it got stuck in the "Teamwin" screen. Well, thats the problem. Please help.. Thanks
Hello all,
Last night I was trying to install the latest Gummy release on my Verizon Galaxy S3. This was the first time I have tried to flash a rom on this phone. It failed, and I rebooted my phone, and now it will only boot into the clockwork recovery.
I thought it may have been damaged as i was transferring the file to the device. I had an SD card in my droid X, So I put it in my Galaxy and formatted it with clockwork. Then I transferred the gummy release (that I also re-downloaded) from my computer to the SD card via a memory card reader. I put it in my Galaxy and tried to install the release, and it gave me a different error
Code:
E: Can't Open /external_sd/Gummy-2.1-01-09-14-NIGHTLY-d2vzw.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted.
Edit: Tried a few other roms and they had the same issue, but Cyanogen Mod 10.2 worked. Anybody have any guesses why?
Edit2: Further developments, Trying to do the latest nightly fir the CM yields the same issue that Gummy's release gave me initially. It reports as follows:
Code:
E: Error in /external_sd/cm-11-20140110NIGHTLY-d2vzw.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted
Is there possibly a firmware issue at play?
Did u unlocked ur recovery. And if ur trying to flash a KITKAT rom u need the latest clockwork recovery
I'm having this exact issue except I currently have TWRP 2.6.3. I wiped data, cache and internal and it actually booted the below ROM (the first boot) but once I got everything setup and rebooted the device it will not boot beyond recovery. It hangs on the Samsung boot logo. I've tried to restore to a 4.1.2 ROM as well as install 4.3 and 4.1.2 again multiple times but they will not boot. Any direction would be appreciated.

Sorry, forgot to mention, I did unlock with EZunlock. Would the clockwork on the play store be the latest one, or is there another place with more up to date versions?

Do you get the same error on install that I'm getting, ro are the installs finishing, but not booting?
Try goo manager or ez-recovery to install the latest recovery
right now i can think of
factory reset format data. Make sure u backup ur internal
Wen changing from rom to rom is a good thing to do a clean install
get the right gapps.
The 1st boot always takes time at least on me.
Sorry i cant think of more helpful things.. Been drinking
Looks like my recovery just needed an update. Thanks everyone.

Confirmed also an old recovery for me as well. Thank you very much!
I am flashing OmniROM-4.4.2 for my Huawei Ascend P1 using Philz Touch Recovery based on cwm 6.0.3.7.. I did it successfully once, created a backup and got back to my old liquidsmooth rom by Spanorg so that I could do a proper backup of my files to transfer it to the new rom. However, upon wiping everything, now everytime I try to flash the OmniROM-4.4.2, it says 'set_perm some changes failed status 7 installation aborted'.. I have the backups, but it says they have md5 checksum mismatched.. and when i try to go into my old rom, it gets stuck in the boot loop..
I have tried clean installing a couple of times, but nothing seems to work..
Any fixes, guys?
