On the htc dev site there is a file for CH Ger, but its ony 93.3mb and extension .tar, i dont know what is that, and how to flash that. Is that a full firmware or just update for some of them ?
Is there any chance to bring back my phone in live, or i must S-OF, and try to flash some other ruu.
Give us the links please, to the recovery you are using and to the things you have flashed. We need to know what has happened to your phone.
If i understand you , you can boot into recovery?

I flashed a TWRP Recovery V2.7.0.1 and yes i can boot to recovery normaly, and fastboot normaly 2.
I know what is a problem, i done wipe and i check wipe data, and system, and probably delete system My mistake But cant find a good swiscom ruu to bring my phone to live.
In this case you don't need a RUU (it is anyway none available that would run in your situation), you need a rom to flash.
If you don't want a custom rom, go to this thread, download the version for k2ul, copy to sdcard and flash from recovery.
Don't forget to flash boot.img of the rom with fastboot.

Can you give me more details how to do that, what boot.img to flash, i just want to turn on my phone, never mayn custom or stock, because S-ON i need a stock rom?
Soo I need flash via fastboot "k2ul_4.2.2_3.11.401.1_stock_odexed_v2.zip" and then unzip that file and take of boot.img file, and flash it via fastboot?
- Download "k2ul_4.2.2_3.11.401.1_stock_odexed_v2.zip"
- open the zip and copy the boot.img from inside the zip into your fastboot folder
- copy the zip to sdcard
- boot into Twrp recovery
- choose Install and choose k2ul_4.2.2_3.11.401.1_stock_odexed_v2.zip
- confirm to flash with a swipe
- after flashing is finished, go to Reboot -> Bootloader
- when phone is in bootloader, connect to pc and open your cmd window in your fastboot folder and flash boot.img with this fastboot command:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Click to collapse
When this is finished, reboot and profit.

Hey, I'm a n00b at all this stuff because i just got my Htc about a week ago and i looked up how to unlock my HTC and i figured that i had to turn my S-off and i have to root my device and install a custom firmware. I did pretty much everything i unlocked the bootloader using HTCdev then i found out how to root my deivce without turning S-off and i did that but i tried to reboot my phone and i had the white screen of death and i don't really know what to do to fix this problem i am having i downloaded HTC all in one kit and tried to flash my ROM back to stock that didn't help then i tried factory restoring it in the HBoot menu but that didn't work.
Any answers would be very much appricated!

the only thing i can acces is hboot, fastboot factory reset simlock image crc.
recovery does not work although i had cwm recovery on my htc sensation xe with beats audio.
i tried to install the recovery again using fastboot but after installing it and try to go to recovery it still is stuck in a bootloop.
anyone know how to fix this??

my Phone was already unlocked so i skipt the identifier token part because it's of no use.
i did flash the recovery with cmd and i think i succesfully did flash the recovery.
C:\Android>fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
sending 'recovery' (6116 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.516s]
writing 'recovery'...
OKAY [ 11.953s]
finished. total time: 13.469s
C:\Android>fastboot reboot
rebooting...
finished. total time: 3.273s
but after the Phone did boot after 20 second or so it shuts down and boots again.
also selecting recovery in hboot does have the same issue.
did i something wrong or is my device completely bricked?

Your device it is not bricked as far as you can enter to bootloader
Try this
Connect the device in fastboot mode and do
fastboot reboot recovery
Otherwise put the recovery.img in your adb and fastboot folder and do
fastboot reboot recovery.img
If those failed then use an ruu.exe

I don't think its brick otherwise it won't let you go into bootloader. I've got the exact problem as you have. I tried most of the guides here on xda but nothing worked I tired clearing system cache delvik cahce etc and then flashing a rom but nope - the n00b just won't start Mine says that rom has successfully been installed but when I start it the HTC logo appears, then the screen goes blank and the cycle repeats itself
I only have 1 solution left and thats to take it to a shop and pay £10 and get it fixed xD
i have no money

all the members on xda say it's not bricked but no-one can fix the problem.
about your solution:
how could it be so cheap, i mean only 10 pounds where have you fixed it? or is it a sarcastic joke? at least i wanna now what caused my problem because i think it's the harddrive from the Phone itself but i want to be sure about it.
but you can come into the recovery in hboot? because when i select recovery after flashing one it goes into the same HTC bootloop. I will try to fix it myself by google-ing for some-one with exactly the samen problem maybe there is a fix to this
anyway good luck with your "quality briliant" Phone!!

lol i realised that i had to perform these commands from the OS but the thing is i can't boot into my OS because i'm stuck in a bootloop
so forget the adb commands. they won't work
Ok, so I tried to unlock my bootloader and install a custom rom, of course, somewhere along the way I screwed up and now I don't know what to do. So what I did was I unlocked my bootloader using the HTCDev unlock token, that went fine, then I installed CWM, again, that was fine, then installed superSU and flashed CM10, rebooted, nothing, I realized I had to flash the boot.img from CM so I did that, then that's what when the problems began. The CM boot animation just starts and never ends (i.e. over 15min). So all I can do now is get into bootloader, and from there recovery; although my /sdcard partition seems to be screwed too. Can't 'flash from SDcard' in recovery, I looked at that thread that says to flash a stock recovery to fix this but I can't find a stock recovery or RUU for my CID...
I guess my question is, how can I get my phone booting again? Is it easier to just go straight to S-OFF? Which I don't think I can do with my phone in this state, or just go back to stock? Which I can't find a proper RUU for my phone....
Obviously... any help is greatly appreciated

thank you sir, questions:
how do I boot into bootloader thru command window? Won't I be still be in bootloader after I fastboot the stock recovery?
Also what should/can I do after? Can I try re-installing CM10 again? I guess that's the only thing I can do since I don't have a RUU that works with my CID...??
i forget how phone reacts after clearing storage, but need to get back to bl or see if you stay there
assume you are familiar with adb/fatsboot, i soon have to call it a nite. someone else may have to chime in
but, basically you need to open command window and change directory to where your adb/fastboot folder is. If using android sdk it is usually in platform tools
take the boot image from the link i provided and put in your fastboot folder on pc
once there you should be able to type adb devices and see that your phone is recognized. then you can type adb reboot bootloader and you should boot into fastboot screen where FASTBOOT is highlighted red
then you can type fastboot devices to again verify your are in fastboot
then type fastboot flash boot boot.img
the boot.img part will be the exact name of the boot image you put into the adb/fastboot folder, the one i gave you the link to.
you can change the name of that image to boot.img or just copy and paste the name as is into the command line instead of boot.img
fastboot twrp the same way if you get sdcard recognized
if you can now mount card you can copy rom to sdcard from pc
you may not have wiped properly when you flashed cm10
wipe all including system 3x from recovery before flashing roms
Awesome has a kernel and system wipe zips you can also use if you want. I wipe all thru recovery first then run the kernel then wipe script then flash rom. wouldn't use them yet.

stock recovery--

would also fastboot twrp recovery after you are sorted--2.3.3.0 works good
http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/ville
you will lose sdcard hope you have a bu and a nandroid on pc--i always keep copies on my pc or you may have to push a rom to sdcard
you need to fastboot stock recovery
then thru command window boot into bootloader and clear storage
reboot into into bootloader and factory reset, that should get your sdcard mountable again
you can use this but use fastboot and not toolkit and fastboot twrp not cwm

i forget how phone reacts after clearing storage, but need to get back to bl or see if you stay there
assume you are familiar with adb/fatsboot, i soon have to call it a nite. someone else may have to chime in
but, basically you need to open command window and change directory to where your adb/fastboot folder is.

I was just about to reply, I got the TWRP going so I have that recovery on there now and I think my SDcard is working now... so should I wipe and run the kernal and flash rom? what about flashing the boot.img of the new rom? Do I still need to do that?
You'll have to read OP page for flashing instructions for that rom. Some have a boot script you can run as opposed to fastbooting boot image. And if you are .13 hboot or higher you will need to flash boot image. Fastboot is best way. However some are using Flash Image GUI to do that. From Market. For now fastboot it as you are obviously proficient at fastboot.
I would normally wipe all 3x including system/flash rom in recovery(don't boot into OS (System)yet)/boot into bootloader and flash boot image. After flashing boot image in command window type fastboot erase cache. then type fastboot reboot-bootloader. Once back in recovery you can reboot into System (OS).
Usually after rom boots and I set up wifi, I usually reboot to recovery and wipe caches then reboot into rom and continue setup.

Ok I've tried all the steps and I can get into recovery and flash roms but any rom I try to flash (and following all wipe and boot.img steps) always results in a bootloop when I first boot the rom... any ideas?? I can reflash different roms but no matter which one I try they end up in bootloops...
Is there a way to go to S-OFF in my state?

Are you sure your flashing the boot img for the ROM you are trying to flash? Use fastboot.

Yup.. I always take the boot img out of the ROM zip file itself and fastboot it before I reboot..
I've tried Carbon and CM10 so far... both get stuck in bootloops at boot.. I know the boot.img is being flashed because the fastboot goes through ok and the boot animation for each ROM is different
maybe im repeating some one else but
try it without wiping after the install of rom and boot.img
so, wipe all (data/cache/system/dalvik/unsecure) then factory reset
then flash rom in twrp
then fastboot flash boot boot.img in fastboot usb mode
reboot device.
btw what rom are you flashing?
I am not up on hboots/cid's/etc
but see you have an EU radio
you are version s4 not s3
sorry if that was easily recognized on your 1st post

I've been trying CM10 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1799139) nightlies...
So for the wiping part, isn't a factory reset (in TWRP) just a data/cache wipe? what does unsecure do? I haven't done that before..

Ok, you had already 4.2.2 on it, thats good, no firmwareupgrade needed!
- Make sure bootloader is unlocked.
- Download and flash (with fastboot) TWRP 2.7.0.1 recovery from here (1. post)
Now you should be able to boot into recovery!
You have two ways you can go now:
- Either download this rom (k2ul version) and flash from TWRP. Don't forget, boot.img must be flashed with fastboot, because you are S-on!
- Or download this stock TWRP backup, place it on your external sd and restore it from recovery.
The location on ext_sdcard for the backup is: \TWRP\BACKUPS\"Put here the serial number of your device"
Sorry, just now reading this. Currently having battery issues with my device. May be finally taking a crap on me and since this is my only one I may be forced to get a new device thus possibly leaving this community.... Still playing with my phone to determine if it will be neceassary or not.

Heres what happened. I first looked into rooting my phone due to some non-market apps not installing or saying "application not installed" when I tried too. I found kingo root and used that to root my phone AFTER I unlocked my bootloader. Then I decided to try a custom rom not too long after that. So I wiped my cache, system, dalvik cache, data, and factory reset my phone through the clockworkmod recovery area. So then I tried installing a different inspire rom although I cant remember what it was cause I deleted it entirely and dont remember which one I was trying. So now I am stuck with a broken phone and am trying to use my other working inspire to restore my broken one.

Its much easier. For HTC phones exist so called RUUs (rom upgrade utility). You need the right RUU for your phone model and CID (Carrier ID). First you need to be clear about which RUU you need.
1. Connect your phone in fastboot mode
2. Open commandline and type:
fastboot getvar all
Post all values but the "IMEI" here and i will get the right RUU for you.

No full RUU available for your firmware version. I found the firmware from matching OTA. Flash the firmware.zip (Just extract it from the OTA ) as followed:
- connect your device in fastboot open
-relock the bootloader ( fastboot oem lock)

fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip (If you get an error, just immediately repeat the command)

Latest is 2.8.5.2
Hi guys, so a while ago I flashed Venom Rom to my one s c2.
In the recent weeks I noticed, that the memory was getting more and more full. But I couldn't find the files responsible for that.
So I did a factory reset, which didn't help. So I tried to wipe the storage in TWRP 2.6.3.0. . Furthermore I did a "total wipe" so I checked every option in the wipe section.
After that, I couldn't boot the phone, because there seemed to be no OS installed. So i tried to flash the ROM which I loaded onto the phones storage but it was gone.
When I tried to transfer a ROM to the phone's storage it said "unable to mount sdcard". So I couldn't transfer any files to my phone.
After hours of reading through various threads, I tried to get it back to stock by running a RUU.
Unfortunately I couldnt find the exact one for my device. This is what fastboot displays when i type in "fastboot getvar all":
version: 0.5
version-bootloader: 3.01.0000
version-baseband: 16.15.20.29_M
version-cpld: None
version-microp: None
version-main:
version-misc: PVT SHIP S-ON

partition-layout: Generic
security: on
build-mode: SHIP
boot-mode: FASTBOOT
commitno-bootloader: 9006d003
hbootpreupdate: 11
gencheckpt: 0
So I tried these ones (tried running as administrator as well):
RUU_VILLEC2_U_ICS_40_HTC_Europe_1.09.401.101_Radio_16.11.20.02U_16.05.20.11_M2_release_261381_signed
and
RUU_VILLEC2_U_ICS_40_HTC_Europe_1.11.401.101_Radio_16.12.20.02U_16.05.20.16_M2_release_261661_signed
But they didnt work out. It always displays "error 155" and on the phone's display it says "older hboot version" .
And now I can't even access the recovery anymore... And because I tried to run a RUU I relocked my bootloader....
I really can't find a RUU with the correct Radio and don't know how to identify the hboot version of the RUU.
I already tried to flash a recovery again via fastboot, but it didn't work as well :
C:\*****\platform-tools>fastboot flash recovery twrpvillec2.img
sending 'recovery' (6420 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.291s]
writing 'recovery'...
(bootloader) signature checking...
FAILED (remote: signature verify fail)
finished. total time: 2.079s
I'm really lost guys, I hope I didn't hardbrick my phone.
If anyone has any suggestions, please help.
Thanks!
maybe you can try this rom http://androidruu.com/download.php?...326a10c55adc0bf34ecb3f5611d8b1015471164225450 "RUU_VILLEC2_U_ICS_40_HTC_Europe_1.11.401.110_Radio_16.12.20.02U_16.05.20.16_M2_release_263510_signed.exe"

Thanks for your suggestion!
I tried the RUU, but it didnt work out. Still Error 155 and the phone says "Hboot Version is older" ...
How can I read the HBOOT Version in the filename, anyway?
But running a RUU is the correct and only way to go in my situation, isnt it?
So, as I already knew, the problem was the hboot Version of my device...
So I'm now trying to downgrade my hboot version and try one of the RUUs again...
So...downgrading Bootloader doesnt work... tried every hboot version listed in this post
Maybe trying a JB RUU, which doesnt really fit all the other requirements...trying that now
Still no success, since I can't find a unbranded JB RUU fitted for my phone....
running out of ideas here...
anyone else got any suggestions?
btw: I reflashed twrp 2.6.3.0. but still cant access the internal sd...cant even mount it.

This is what fastboot displays when i type in "fastboot getvar all":
version: 0.5
version-bootloader: 3.01.0000
version-baseband: 16.15.20.29_M
version-cpld: None
version-microp: None
version-main:
version-misc: PVT SHIP S-ON
serialno: SH25YW404475
imei: 352762055439276
meid:
product: villec2
platform: HBOOT-8260
modelid: PJ4020000
cidnum: HTC__102
battery-status: good
battery-voltage: 4014mV
partition-layout: Generic
security: on
build-mode: SHIP
boot-mode: FASTBOOT
commitno-bootloader: 9006d003
hbootpreupdate: 11
gencheckpt: 0
So I tried these ones (tried running as administrator as well):
RUU_VILLEC2_U_ICS_40_HTC_Europe_1.09.401.101_Radio_16.11.20.02U_16.05.20.11_M2_release_261381_signed
and
RUU_VILLEC2_U_ICS_40_HTC_Europe_1.11.401.101_Radio_16.12.20.02U_16.05.20.16_M2_release_261661_signed
But they didnt work out. It always displays "error 155" and on the phone's display it says "older hboot version" .
And now I can't even access the recovery anymore... And because I tried to run a RUU I relocked my bootloader....
I really can't find a RUU with the correct Radio and don't know how to identify the hboot version of the RUU.
I already tried to flash a recovery again via fastboot, but it didn't work as well :
C:\*****\platform-tools>fastboot flash recovery twrpvillec2.img
sending 'recovery' (6420 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.291s]
writing 'recovery'...
(bootloader) signature checking...
FAILED (remote: signature verify fail)
finished. total time: 2.079s
I'm really lost guys, I hope I didn't hardbrick my phone.
If anyone has any suggestions, please help.
Thanks!

You need to unlock your bootloader again than flash the stock recovery there you can make a factory reset and than your storage is back if you need the stock recovery
Or stock backup than say it...

Yes please, I actually do have some older backups, but I don't know how to flash them since I can't move files to the phone anymore.
Thanks for your help!

hey, here is the stock recovery:https://www.dropbox.com/s/qavj4ythvc0v4gg/recovery.img?dl=0
you need to unlock your booloader again, than go to fastboot and flash the recovery like every other: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img than: fastboot erase cache and fastboot reboot-bootloader
than you go in the stock recovery there you can make a factory reset
here you find all how you can use the stock recovery: http://llabtoofer.com/2014/02/24/how-to-manually-install-ota-updates/
and than you can flash the recovery from my backup folder after this you can mount your sd card and push the stock backup on your phone and restore the backup
and here the stock backup: https://www.dropbox.com/s/hhggqd1gith8pkf/4.1.1%20stock%20rom%20C2%20TWRP%202.6.3.0.rar?dl=0
pauldey.
Thanks guys, worked great!
Awesome!
I have the same problem. In adb devices I see some serial and 'recovery', maybe its the phone, but I got an error when tried to move another file into phone.
I've tried to unlock it again but I that code to use it in bootloader is not showing up.
