Do I need to root device for official firmware?

Hello,
I want to update my Galaxy Tab 2 GT P-5100 to Jelly Bean, but since my carrier locked it at 4.0.4 and removed the dialer, I want to flash new firmware from other country, but I need your expert help:
Can I flash firmware from country which is not mine?
Do I need to root my galaxy tab if I am going to flash official firmware? (I am going to download it from SamMobile)

[Q] Galaxy Note 10.1 SHW-M480K to run on Australian JB or ROM

I recently moved to Sydney, Australia with my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 that I bought and used in Korea with model name SHW-M480K (KT).
My Question is:
Can I overwrite SW-M480K's firmware with Australian one (I'm using Vodafone USIM with SHW-M480K on Korean recent-most firmware as of August 11, 2013.
Logically thinking, I think I can do this with Odin, Australian JB firmware or custom rom with a converter for Australian Vodafone.
Can anybody help me out?

[Q] Issue regarding firmware change

Hey Guys,
I am using Samsung galaxy s4 i337m which is canadian firmware .. so can i change its firmware GT i9500 which is official indian firmware of the phone. and if not ..... can put any custom rom in it as it has been rooted .... by any rom i mean roms available for i9500.

You need to stay at i337 firmware:

You will find a lot of custom roms. Just google for i337m roms

[Q] Can I use latest firmware found on sammobile.com on my Samsung device?

I found firmware update for Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo (GT-I9060) for Netherlands (I9060XXUANH3_I9060PHNANI1_PHN) version here. But my phone is (I9060MKDCAM) as written on the box.
Can I update to that Netherlands version with ODIN on my phone?

I searched a STOCK ROM for my SAMSUNG J7 PRIME, Amazingly I Found That It All Depend On Region Code.
So My Country Is MAURITIUS.
So What is My Region Code?
Is XFA - South Africa My Region Code

Accidentally Rooted my J7 Prime with the Note 2 on ODIN. Thought that it was the note 2 on the cable. Can someone help me download firmware for my J7? Thank you:crying:

Have You Been Able To Get Your Firmware?
If No Then Go To This Website:
http://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model
Then type in your phone model which is i suppose "J7 PRIME"
And then you will get all the firmware for each region.
