Does anybody know how to get my IMEI number back? I had my efs saved on twrp dr87 and I guess that didn't work. So now I had to restore back to stock and have no backups. This really sucks.
Download "mobile uncle tool.apk " and write ur imei in engineering mode or restore it....

I want to say thanks for the suggestion I tried it, but it didn't work. I was wondering about this, my boy has a backup on his phone with the efs's saved. Would it work to flash that backup on my phone and would both phones work? Would we both be able to use our phones or only one phone would work at a time. Just Wondering?

What you're talking about is swapping the IMEI, or cloning the IMEI onto another device, which is actually illegal.

If you dig into troubleshooting section you'll find a thread about people having your same issue that they managed to solve flashing colorOS on their phone and after that cm11s again.

I have tried that a couple of times, but maybe I was doing something wrong. I am going to try it again and just maybe I can get it to work. I hope! Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it. I don't think I have a chance of getting any help from customer service. Thank You
The exact workaround is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/fix-people-corrupt-efs-mobile-data-t2836389
Do those steps carefully, and do not use any toolkit
Manual adb/fastboot commands are highly recommended

Follow step 2 if you flash the recovery that's enough
For root flash the zip in the thread.
Edit : I saw that the thread is deleted a ad the method by my tread

Not working on my phone. Ruined all the apps (Force Close all applications). Even the settings menu is not accesible. And notification area is not present anymore. I have to reinstall the rom now. Any idea what went wrong ? I have root and SU works fine (i have permitions to write system files).
PS: Funny thing : 'cause the phone app is not working when the phone rings the screen remains black . But when i unlock i can still see the missing calls . So i can make a call but i cannot close it =)) This would be a great thing for a prank 'cause i cant answer the phone either.
Problem in framework Res bro...check your baseband...framework Res gives forceclose if you on different baseband...only way to flash any zip on any baseband is deodexed ROM....

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2134964
Installed CM 10.1 alpha-9 from DDLF2 a week ago. Phone worked perfect for few days. While trying to call a friend, the screen went unresponsive for a few seconds & the network was gone & never returned. The sim is working in another phone. While searching available networks 'error while searching for networks' shows.
Phone Status:
Network: Unknown
Signal Strength: 0 dBm 99 asu
Mobile network type : Unknown:0
Service state: out of service
Mobile Network state: Disconnected
My phone number: Unknown
IMEI: Unknown
IMEI SV: Unknown
IP address: Unavailable
I have no efs backup or anything. I just backed up the device while on DDLF2 from the CWM menu & copied the files onto my pc. The files are in a folder named backup>2013-09-14.18.42.26 (around 373MB).
Files are:
1. cache.rfs.tar
2. data.rfs.tar
3. datadata.rfs.tar
4. nandroid.md5
5. system.rfs.tar
I guess its the IMEI problem. Please help guys.
As far as I know, nandroid backup does not back up EFS. Your best bet would be to do a full reflash with stock ROM.
Unfortunately, "unknown" IMEI is most likely a busted EFS, but give it a try, still. Lurk around the SD card, many roms create EFS backups, maybe you still got one somewhere

i have my efs backup folder but i couldn't recover it. Hope you can help me
Found a folder in the sd card named backup>efs (Size 5MB). 4 folders inside & 14 files. As I read in some other topics, the most important files are nv_data & nv_data.bin.md5 which are present in the folder. Is this anyhow useful. Please help guys, my phone is of no use now!
One more thing that I don't get is that how this problem came, as the phone was working ok for aroung 4-5 days after flashing CM 10.1 A9. May be this is a hardware problem. I don't understand.

I am just curious...wouldn't it be possible to flash the new bootloader via Recovery (when rooted + customer recovery installed of course )
I made something like that on Note 1 when Jelly Bean came up (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38150047&postcount=58).
So for ROM devs this would allow not to force people to install Stock ROM first or flash bootloader via ODIN...
updater-script would look like that maybe:
Code:
ui_print("********************************");
ui_print("* Change Bootloader to Kit Kat *");
ui_print("********************************");
ui_print("Copy bootloader to tmp ");
package_extract_file("apboot/Sbl1.mbn", "/tmp/Sbl1.mbn");
ui_print("Install bootloader");
run_program("/sbin/busybox", "dd", "if=/tmp/Sbl1.mbn", "of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p3");
ui_print("Done ");
run_program("/sbin/reboot", "fota_bl");
Of cource it would also be possible to flash back JB bootloader when reverting back to 4.3 the same way

All that sd-card booting is coming from a Samsung original document named something like 13-58_SM-N900_Boot_Recovery_Guide_rev1.0.pdf (I do not know if attaching it here would be OK but a google search will show some hits). The document makes perfectly clear that in order for this to work you MUST short (temporarily) a resistor on the mainboard, theories on how it "might work" without that just look very stupid to me.
As far as I remember the only other tricky part was that you needed a microSD prepared from a "good" device of the same model (there MIGHT be one extra restriction on Qualcomm devices - meaning that the "good" device MIGHT need to have a similar qfuse configuration as the one you try to repair - if that is true then recovery by that method might be a lot more complex, but if it is NOT true then that might be a way to downgrade the bootloader or maybe even reset knox flag).
Either way - please let us know what you managed to do and eventually please provide an image of the microSD for N9005 for future use.

Hi eybee no problem ahhahaha just realized that and maybe bootloader include more files for note 3 (in the tar there are 4 or 5)...
Anyway in few time I'll try the unbrick method with my pc... already tried at work to prepare the ext sdcard via terminal from my note8 (writed with the unbrick.img).
But no luck... the phone doesn't have current from battery or cable... no reaction ... may be is needed a direct power connection to the motherboard ... if some user know what are the right + and - pin to do the job (without open the device if possible ... I see two external pin in the back side at the top of the battery)...
Edit: anyway no QHUSB MODE ... my pc doesn't see the phone because no power... can't start any mode with buttons so may be no solutions...

I had to edit the updater-script to get it to flash. Yeah from full wipe. Been a while since I done any kind of mods. Takes time to move and replace files using powergrasp lol

Give a day or too if I get progress I'll let ya know. It's not good for dummies believe me lol it may need framework edits and stuff yet so it be an even bigger job. Someone else I gave link to last night also looking into it.
