Hi, i just thought to share something which i found New/trick. Well, it will good to share information!!. So Let get Started....
OK, as "Huawei Ascend Y511" user hopefully already knew how to enable "Developer options".
ie:-
--Tap 'Build number' 7(seven) times in 'Phone Settings > About phone' and What!!.. "Developer options" will appear in phone settings. (Don't know if same with other huawei models.)

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Well, what i find out is almost same thing to do which bring up "Developer options". But it's not 'developer options'.
just for Fun/sharing, nothing more than a "trick".
-- In same 'Phone settings > About phone' there is " Android version". What if you Tap it for 3(three) times.
Lets Test it out....

Yeah, there is always something new to learn.
Yes, I knew that, too. It's not with Huawei Ascend alone, it is with all android JB.

actually, I remember the developer option only became hidden since the release of a version of andriod (ICS, or JB), and required people to manually activating it by tapping on that "about...".

Hey guys, i got an idea for an interested dev. I dont have a android phone yet, but I've been lurkin around here for a while and have learned a lot from all you guys.
Now, i for one know people who go through others phones. Needless to say, it is annoying. I have an idea to con these guys out of there snooping.
Its a lock screen app that implicates both that we know already, the standard bar swiping one

and the combo one
I was thinking maybe we could get an app that let you swipe the bar, like if it was going to open it, but then act like if nothing happened. To actually unlock it, you would put the combo in invisibly, either by swiping through specific sectors, as if the screen were a grid.
This is my idea to you devs for a safer phone.
I like this idea. Would be a good April fools trick too.

hahaaha, i know right. just hope a dev is willing to do it.
Can't imagine it would be that hard since both items are already built.

Hmm well on cyanogenmod you can just hide the "dots" on the Pattern-lock. I use it currently. My current background is black, so that's why it's all black. It's just an extra security measure. Anyone without an android phone wouldn't really know what to do considering it doesn't even show the "Incorrect pattern" message (which you can turn on or off).
Note that this is the normal pattern lock with just everything hidden (except for the cyanogenmod message at the top, which can be turned off/changed to something else.) There's no slide-unlock then pattern-unlock, just pattern-unlock.

Took 7 taps for me, just like nexus4. I believe that 7 is the magic number for all 4.2+ devices... could be wrong about that, though.
@ShadowDice9100
It takes 7 taps not 3
Please update your OP
I have like 5 Androids at home and for aall of them it takes 7 taps not 3
Tap the android version four times. Tap the jelly bean. Then with five fingers on the screen make a squeezing motion on the smiling jelly bean. Enjoy!

Who knew?
Y'all did, obviously. I've had the Developer tab enabled on several other Android devices that I've owned, but it always appeared after I installed a custom ROM. Since there hasn't been much development for this device, all I've done is gained root access and installed TWRP.
That's a sweet trick. Thanks.
What did you use to root it? Any link that you can provide?

Is there any way whatsoever to make it ask me what default app I want to choose each time. As in, the old Just Once/Alway complete action dialog?
I've tried Complete Action Plus. Doesn't seem to have any effect.

Nope. It's lollipop forced. Maybe marshmallow it changes... Get used to it.

I'd love this too, but unfortunately I don't think there is. Sucks because I have to keep switching between Adobe and Write on PDF for my business. **** is annoying.

I just came across something last night that's a decent workaround for most things.
Better Open With (sorry, no link; new member) prompts you with it's own UI, which is still pretty intuitive. It works by having you set the default application for each intent it supports (which isn't a lot, but it's most) to itself. Then, when you open something, it will bring up it's own dialog box that's pretty similar to the old style.
It doesn't have as much customization as Complete Action Plus did, but it gets you 80% there.

I thought it was lollipop forced as well, but both my Note 4 and my Note 10.1 2014 are running 5.1.1 and give me the choice of running specific apps just once or always, could it be the Note 5?

Hello guys!
First of all, sorry if this is wrong place to ask that, it's okay to move!
Can anyone tell me how to remove screen lock on Huawei product?
I have MediaPad T3, but I'm pretty sure this is same on every Huawei.
If I take everything off, it still wants to slide screen up, before I'm get homescreen.
In developer options, screen lock is grey, and it's not possible to adjust.
It's very annoying when I want to use tablet on my car..
Thanks!

Screen lock settings are not located in developer options. Those settings should be in "security" or in "display" or in "lockscreen" settings.

Yes, that's true. But on Huawei, there's no possibility take it off. The best results are that, when you can swipe screen up, and after that you are on home screen.
So I think it have to change on developer options, but that place in there is grey.

Are there any other suggestions? I'm tried to search, but no idea... frustrating.
Have to change brand soon..
I really like that look on Huawei!

Is there a way to stop the auto update to 12? I had to send mine to Nokia to get downgraded back to 11 cause for one thing, it killed the dual SIM capability. Then, i just hate the UI and refuse to pay for apps to fix the look. I have looked everywhere and all the guides say to go to a certain place and disable them, but that doesnt exist in Android ONE i guess. I dont really want to try a custom ROM cause im sure it wont support dual SIM either.
Find the OTA update app and do a adb edit to disable it. Package Disabler has a variant for model other than Samsung, that might work too.
On Samsung's they look like this, ws.dm is the prime offender...

I use this. For non-Samsung devices navigate towards the bottom of that page. You can contact them by email with a question too.

I would not recommend this sites app to anyone. I tried to buy it last night and 24hrs later, I still have no app to download. I found your post from a Google search. Email went unanswered.

Give them a business day or two... jeeesze. Do a charge back on the card if you must. I've been using them for over 3 years, no worries, as I am now.
