I don't know if this is a malicous file or not, I haven't allowed it to download. Mods should look into removing this advertiser for the safety of fellow users.

Well, your first step here is to immediately stop using IE as your browser. Nothing is safe or good about that thing and I have to imagine that if you run ANY other browser and this wouldn't happen. But in your defense, some of the ads on this site are a bit awful. It's quite frequent that a Kid Rock ad will start playing sound, which is completely unacceptable imo.

Agree on that.

Sorry to close this, but it is really in the wrong place and the admins who can take care of problem ads most likely won't find it...
It would be really great if you could repost your issue in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1696660
Thanks!

[APP] Random phrase generating - my first android app

This is my first attempt at creating a simple app.
Its just a phrase generating app that uses some random words to tell how awesome my wife is.
She got a kick out of it.

LOL Good stuff. I'm learning Java right now and this reminds me of a couple of example apps straight from the book I'm using.
make the sex and name settable and you're golden...hell, even jazzy up the UI a bit and it'd be a fun lil app.

Yeaah...
Quite an interesting little article as I work for a company that does a lot of security research. Maybe you guys have heard of SpiderLabs? They were just on NBC or ABC with a little bit about hacking info from hotel door locks and such. Last holiday season they did a little bit about using Karma attacks on public wifi.

WOW. That is nuts. Simple little homeade connector at that
Interesting, but someone needs to have physical access to the phone.

How to change the applications for double installation?

Hello to all,
I hope not to have the wrong section, but frankly I consider this more of a trick that programming something.
Let me explain my problem.
I tried in every way to the root to my phone, but to no avail.
Basically I wanted to run the root simply to uninstall Whatsapp (which is a native application and it does not work because it was too dated).
Once you have uninstalled that version, I would have installed a new one.
Being that I can not update the version that is on, I wanted to ask if there was a way to change, starting from the installation file name
the app. The idea is to show the system with a different app and then install two WhatsApp that difference in name only and folders process.
A minimum of programming experience I have it even if not directly in Android environment
I hope I was clear enough.
Try to have different signatures in whatsapp.
If younwanna have to,
But I suppose it not a noob thing.
I have this for youtube 2 youtube installed at the same time.

Hi, thank you for sharing your valuable updates on this blog. I was surfing the internet for quite some time to find this information. Your input/experience/suggestion has provided a valuable insight.

Anyone else being spammed like hell by XDA right now?

I have never been spammed so much in my life. Every freaking page I open gets this stupid popup. Been going on constantly for the last couple of days.
Anyone else or is it just my [chrome] browser being broken?
I already cleared out all my cookies & cache & everything else but still get this popup on every_freaking_page. STOPPIT. lol
Dell venue spam in pic below. Which btw gets in the way of the quick reply button sometimes.

I had already disabled flash which did the trick, but this looks like a great plugin. Thanks.
We'd like to encourage websites to use straightforward, unobtrusive advertising. That's why we've established strict guidelines to identify acceptable ads, which are shown under default settings. If you still want to block every ad you can disable this in a few seconds.

Sounds fair to me. :good:
Seems to be working also.

will they ever make instagram and facebook smooth on android?

i have been a samsung user for oblivion, now i have note 20. however, i can t help thinking that, instagram and facebook are so friggin smooth on iphone, everything has animations, and smoothness in the transitions, on android, it has barely any animation, entering and exiting aswell, what they dont fix the animations of these apps on android, im seriously contemplating ditching samsung and get an iphone just for the smoothness of their apps and transitions., i ve gotten sick of this man.
Ditch that trashware meaning fb and Instagram.
They should never be installed on an Android.
Multivector malware. Login using browser only if you must use them. Actions have consequences...

So u mean, he specifically asks that it s only optimized for iphone?? Meaning he hates android
If the apps provided by Meta are running well on iPhones but not on Androids, then they arent't well coded, IMO.
You may request Meta to provide appropriate remedy.

what meta, the app is not smooth, i mean it s developped for the iphone , that s what i mean, it doesn t have animation and transitions in every aspect, opening photos, opening the menu etc... it s just not smooth on android, both facebook and insta.
