[Q] flash failed in TWRP [SOLVED] - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

On my ME301T I unlocked it and flashed twrp 2.5.0.0. I put the latest OMNI rom on an SD card and I can mount the card but when I try to install the ZIP it fails. also tried CM11 rom. all the roms I try to install fail! My computer wont recognize the tablet when booted to fastboot. Anyone know how to get ANY rom on this and working through TWRP?
Not sure what did the trick, but I flashed TWRP 2.7, wiped again, made sure to mount everything, used TWRP file manager to copy the ROM and moved it to the internal storage and then when I flashed it worked! Probably would have worked if I'd followed directions but it seems ROM wont flash fromexternal SD

[Q] Stuck in recovery restart limbo

Hello all,
Last night I was trying to install the latest Gummy release on my Verizon Galaxy S3. This was the first time I have tried to flash a rom on this phone. It failed, and I rebooted my phone, and now it will only boot into the clockwork recovery.
I thought it may have been damaged as i was transferring the file to the device. I had an SD card in my droid X, So I put it in my Galaxy and formatted it with clockwork. Then I transferred the gummy release (that I also re-downloaded) from my computer to the SD card via a memory card reader. I put it in my Galaxy and tried to install the release, and it gave me a different error
Code:
E: Can't Open /external_sd/Gummy-2.1-01-09-14-NIGHTLY-d2vzw.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted.
Edit: Tried a few other roms and they had the same issue, but Cyanogen Mod 10.2 worked. Anybody have any guesses why?
Edit2: Further developments, Trying to do the latest nightly fir the CM yields the same issue that Gummy's release gave me initially. It reports as follows:
Code:
E: Error in /external_sd/cm-11-20140110NIGHTLY-d2vzw.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted
Is there possibly a firmware issue at play?
Did u unlocked ur recovery. And if ur trying to flash a KITKAT rom u need the latest clockwork recovery
I'm having this exact issue except I currently have TWRP 2.6.3. I wiped data, cache and internal and it actually booted the below ROM (the first boot) but once I got everything setup and rebooted the device it will not boot beyond recovery. It hangs on the Samsung boot logo. I've tried to restore to a 4.1.2 ROM as well as install 4.3 and 4.1.2 again multiple times but they will not boot. Any direction would be appreciated.

Sorry, forgot to mention, I did unlock with EZunlock. Would the clockwork on the play store be the latest one, or is there another place with more up to date versions?

Do you get the same error on install that I'm getting, ro are the installs finishing, but not booting?
Try goo manager or ez-recovery to install the latest recovery
right now i can think of
factory reset format data. Make sure u backup ur internal
Wen changing from rom to rom is a good thing to do a clean install
get the right gapps.
The 1st boot always takes time at least on me.
Sorry i cant think of more helpful things.. Been drinking
Looks like my recovery just needed an update. Thanks everyone.

Confirmed also an old recovery for me as well. Thank you very much!

[Q] TWRP and CWM won't work...

Whenever I flash TWRP with the AIO Toolkit from Hasoon2000, TWRP recovery will load, but the internal SD (/data/media) is blank. The files are there when it boots to the system, but they're not showing up in TWRP. CWM won't boot at all when flashed (it just goes to back to fastboot). I tried flashing the generic TWRP in the AIO Toolkit and the Sprint version, both seem to behave the same. Also if I try to flash a ROM, it always fails (CM fails immediately, Viper installs then says failed, InsertCoin says it succeeded, but then it never boots). I tried flashing TWRP 2.7.1.0 as downloaded from the TWRP website and it won't flash ("BootMagic failed" error). And GooManager doesn't find the right file to flash for my M8. Does anyone know how to fix this? I like the stock ROM alright, but I want to try some others. Oh, also when I try to do a backup it fails, saying it can't mount /data/media.

[Q]Tab7.7 CM12 installed, Gapps failed, status 7 and no sdcard access

i tried to flash CM12 and Gapps 5.1.1 on the tablet. CM12 installed but not Gapps for some reason . The device rebooted into CM12 but without google apps. I might add that i cant type anything on the device without gapps as no keyboard.
i also cannot reload fresh rom and gappps into SDCARD to reflash as I cant see the SDcard from the file manager nor can I flash from ODIN any other working or stock roms (ODIN and my PC no longer see my phone SDCARD).
I can still see the SDCARD in recovery mode but since i cant find it in file manager or connect from my PC. I cant load any new roms and gapps to correct the installation. i can only install stuff via recovery mode if put in external sdcard.
i have supersu on the device...i guess that means its rooted.
it seems that i have two problems
1 ) without gapps , of course the device wont work properly. i have cm-12-20141128-UNOFFICIAL-p6800. Tried to install gapps 502 base from external sdcard. i get a status 7 installation abort error.
2) CM12 has rendered my sdcard not accessible via pc or file manager. so i cant put in files via external sdcard and move them to /sdcard in order for a reflash of rom from recovery mode.
Is my tablet now bricked?
Which Recovery Do you use? Try to Flash the latest from CM 12. It's from May 2015.
CM11 CM12 installation on Tab 7.7 P6800

I have installed cwm 6.0.3.0-p6800.tar on the table and rooted with supersu v1.25+
Tried to install kitkat
cm-11-20141110-UNOFFICIAL-p6800
but when i got to gapss, i got a status 7 error using
gapps-444-base-20150515-1-signed
I also tried to install lollipop version but didnt get pass the custom rom installation..it didnt even start...at ......... FSfactory....... for at really long time so i aborted..
cm-12.1-20150502-UNOFFICIAL-p6800
gapps-511-base-20150515-1-signed
any advise?
Not sure about CWM recovery, but at last on TWRP, my laptop can see the SD card while in recovery mode. Did you try the 5.1.1 lollipop ROM from danielhk?

Can't install ROM from recovery mode

Hi. I have a shield tablet with Blisspop a friend gave me. Since for some reason the os was quite broken I'm trying to reinstall it via recovery mode and microSD. I already swiped and tried with two different rom (blisspop and cyanogen), formatting the SD exFAT/NTSC, but I can't read the zip file when in recovery mode (storage/sdcard1). It says there are no files and I got an error if I try to mount it. What am I doing wrong?

Cannot mount Micro SD in TWRP or flash CWM?

So I have a fairly serious issue. My N8013 was being a little buggy lately and my ROM had been discontinued. So I decided to try out another one that seemed popular. After backing everything up I booted into recovery and wiped everything that needed to be. However when I went to install the new ROM, I could not mount the SD card. I tried reformatting the card to both FAT32 and exFAT, neither worked. So I updated TWRP to the latest I could find (2.8.7.0), that didn't fix the problem either. So then I decided maybe it's just an issue with my tablet and TWRP and decided to try CWM recovery instead. But when I start up Odin and try to flash the CWM tar, it just gets stuck on "NAND Write Start." I tried different ports and different computers, though I don't think that's the issue since TWRP reflashes just fine.
So basically my issue is this: My tablet has no ROM installed but I can't mount the SD to install a ROM. On top of that I can't flash CWM over TWRP for some reason.
I pretty much see my option is to reflash the stock firmware via Odin and start from there. However if anybody has other suggestions, I'm all ears!
Well I got it up and running finally Got a hold of the stock 4.1.2, flashed it via Odin, and that fixed the Micro SD issue. Then I just reflashed TWRP and installed Gnabo ROM V8 and it's running smoothly! So this thread can either be deleted or left up for people with similar issues
