[Q] Which original build do I have? - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (GT-N8013) with cyanogenmod, and I would like to revert it back to the original stock rom. I found several tutorials, but what I'm unable to determine is which build I need. On android.gs/restore-stock-kernel-recovery-galaxy-note-10-1-n8013/ the author mentioned UEALGB and UEALH2, but I also found references to UEALI3 and other builds.
So how do I find out which build I need? And where do I find a download link for that files?
Thanks,
Ingmar

Download root checker off play store and it will tell you your bootloader version. Flash the corresponding package that matches. You can find the downloads on sammobile.com

It should work, but maybe because you're on cm it doesn't? Maybe that's a stock only app. OK next option is to get terminal emulator from play store and use the command to get the bootloader version. Unfortunately I don't know what the command is.

Thanks

Thanks! It failed flashing with TWRP so I'm assuming I have to use fastboot to push it similar to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219
I'll be doing it tomorrow as I want to back up a few thing before this wipes my data. Do you know what the difference in those 2 files are? I was going to use the (link 1) RETAIL-CA-SS instead of the (link 2) AMX-PE-SS as it was a few days newer.
edit:
The ones you linked are cid 12 and cid 14. According to this, I would be wanting cid9 for USA

Hello
This is the post which helped me to get root access on this device.
I cannot post an url, so search this on Google : [ROOT] Lenovo K5 Pro L38041
And the Chinese ROM on Google : lenovo s5 pro firmware and the third searched link
Before get into the process of rooting, if you have a global rom, make a copy of it...
There is no global rom which you can download, so, I installed the chinese one, but it's ok, as soon as you get root you can easily delete all the bloatware. But, if somebody has the global rom, I kindly please to make a copy and share with us .

How did you go about installing the chinese rom? I accidentally flashed the chinese boot.img to mine, would like to install the rest of the chinese rom to fix it. Thanks
No luck on finding global firmware, or finding TWRP for this phone, but here's a quick guide I assembled for rooting the ZUI firmware:
Firmware Links:
https://yadi.sk/d/jvDlauax6DjGEQ/Firmware Lenovo S5 Pro L58041
Important: Make sure to install the Qualcomm drivers
bootloader unlock from:
https://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=929173
To unlock bootloader:
"On the site https://www.zui.com/iunlock in the first field enter IMEI1.
In the second field, enter serial number from fastboot (not the one in the settings), then enter mail and verification code.
Tick the checkbox, the sn.img file will be sent by email
In the developer’s menu, enable boot loader unlock and enable USB debugging
Put the sn.img file into the folder with ADB.exe, Start cmd. prompt, enter the commands:"
1. adb reboot bootloader
2. fastboot flash unlock sn.img
3. fastboot oem unlock-go
Rooting guide:
Copy boot.img from firmware archive to phone, use Magisk Manager to patch the file. Copy patched_boot.img into folder with adb.exe
To flash your patched img:
1. adb reboot bootloader
2. fastboot flash boot patched_boot.img
3. fastboot reboot
Factory Reset:
https://www.stupdroid.com/2019/02/Lenovo-S5-Pro-rom-download.html
Whats working:
Magisk
Xposed
BusyBox
etc.
Credits: Thanks to suninterbru for the bootloader unlock link.
Thanks to 4pda members for firmware links etc

Does anyone out there have a Gome U7 and knows how to root it?

I bought this phone in aliexpress and i'm pretty satisfied so far. Except by the fact that it's a totally obscure phone. You can't even find cases for it.
Anyway, the real problem is the lack of root methods. I tried all the root apks out there without success, and there is no known way to unlock the boot loader.
So, as a last effort, i'm trying to find someone that maybe managed to root this phone and could share the knowlege with us. Or at least find some other Gome U7 owners to share this frustation.
Thank you!

From the Aliexpress listing I found, this is MTK6757CD Android 7.1 Nougat. It shouldn't be so difficult to root.
Have you been able to backup / dump the firmware?
Yes, thats the model!.
About the backup, i don't tried it yet, but i supose i can via ADB comands.
The problem is that none of the root apks work, and i can't try to install a root script via the default recovery.
Holy fuc...king cow! I did it!
The dificulty of finding the files for this phone made this task much dificult than it shoul be, but anyway, for the possible people that come accros this thread, that's how i did it:
download the mtk drivers here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/jbxsq68g8dd4gk6/MTK_USB_All_v1.0.8.zip
download the stock rom here: https://cloud.mail.ru/public/8hMx/N7fqf8X62
Put the stock rom's boot.img on your phone;
Install the magisk apk, click install, and then use the patch boot.img function;
Select the boot.img from the stock rom;
After the patch, replace the patched version with the original version on the rom folder on your PC;
Use the SP flash tool to flash it.
And that's it!
I can't believe it took me four days to figure this out hahaha
Anyway, i hope it helps someone. Have a great day.
Edit: unfortunately the bootloader is still locked, so i can't flash magisk modules. Is there a way to use root privelege to unlock it?
@SkynyrdZ The Link you provided for the stock ROM is for USB drivers.

Is that the only stock ROM out there?
I know it's a chinese phone but it originally had western stock ROM when arrived - As in playstore was available on it. Chinese version is very stubborn in trying to install western apps - Playstore for one does not open when you install via alt options.

I didn't really flash it, i just used the bootloader file on it for the root process. My device came with the stock android rom, with gapps pre-installed.
But as far as i know, you can have play store on any android. Just make sure you install google play services alongside.

I didn't try it because it seens fake to me. Also, the bootloader on this phone is locked, so fastboot comands didn't work when i tried. The only way i could flash anything was with SPtool.
But there's a group out there called twrp builder that compiles the twrp recovery to a lot of devices. I'm trying to put the gome u7 on their queue, but right now, they are busy with a lot of builds.
TWRP recovery for root with magisk from 4PDA Forum.

As you said the bootloader can not unlock why it need TWRP for?
The phone bootloader can lock and unlock as will.
Phone in fastboot mode: ADB command "fastboot oem unlock" then Push Vol+ on the phone to confirm unlock.
But I got the boot loop to TWRP every reboot after following steps to root the phone.
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (twrp down load at https://unofficialtwrp.com/gome-u7-twrp-3-2-root/)
Boot to recovery ( this Twrp won't save the language which selected)
Format Data
Reboot to recovery again.
Install magisk
install No verity opt encrypt.zip.
wipe Caches/Davik...
reboot to system but it boot loop to recovery (twrp).
I have to reinstall original recovery.img and lock bootloader in order for my phone to boot normal again. After the phone boot up , install magisk.apk manager to get root.
Try to flash patched boot & twrp recovery image inside rar file with SP flash tool v5.1844.00.00 use their scatter file.
Wow, my device just could'nt comunicate with the adb via fastboot. I selcted the OEM unlock on the phone and inatalled the mtk drivers.
What i did wrong?
Also, you said that you had to install the stock recovery to the phone boot again, so you dont have twrp on the phone?

The Baseband Version Of My Device is N8005JVUDDNF1.
Could it be Related to The Build.Prop file?
OK its good that the baseband isn't unknown.
What exactly isn't working? Does it find any network?
The phone does not make a call. A number is dialed from the System Phone feature. gives two beeps and ends the call.

Connecting to the network. goes on the internet. sending and receiving text messages. Everything works fine except the voice call. It doesn't work on the emergency number.
OK,
It could be, that you have to upgrade your modem and bootloader.
(From latest stock ROM)
Have you also tried another sim card?
On my n8000 phone calls are working fine.
8005 version is put on the market in turkey version.
It is the same as 8000.
Because of the high tax
Voice call feature is turned off and only data connection is active.
OK, then:

It will resist both binaries if you try to flash a bootloader from a different device (for example N8000) and if the binary is older than the existing one.
If the binary is equal, it also allows to flash it.
I installed 4.4.2 stock rom and then 4.4.2 custom rom. After that I installed 7.1 roms, the voice call works but the device is not stable.

If it's really equal to n8000, it should work.
But one other thing you could try is to take the /system/lib/libsec-ril.so of your original stockrom and replace it with the existing.
(and chmod 775).
Will it work to change or edit the build.prop file?

I've tried that file before, the result is the same.
Changing the libsec-ril.so file did not work.
I set it up like this all the time
1.I install the device's original 4.4.2 stockrom
2. I am writing the file CF-Auto-Root-p4noterf-p4noterfjv-gtn8005.tar from odin.
3.I install Twrp from Odinn
I install the file N8000XXUDND5-4-4-2_Deodex-LiteV1 which is 4.4.2 german version from Twrp
Voice call is only active like this
I have also tried the suitable roms in the forum.
If I uploaded N8000XXUDND5-4-4-2_Deodex-LiteV1 file, voice call works, if I don't upload N8000XXUDND5-4-4-2_Deodex-LiteV1 file and upload custom romm directly after stockrom, voice call doesn't work

Ok the try to flash this modem:
Modem.tar | by html6405 for Galaxy Note 10.1 3G
Download GApps, Roms, Kernels, Themes, Firmware, and more. Free file hosting for all Android developers.
androidfilehost.com

If Odin fails, use adb.
For this you would have to extract modem.bin and copy it onto your internal storage, with:
adb shell
su
dd if=/sdcard/modem.bin of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p7
you will be able to flash it.
(Maybe backup your Modem before, or in worst case reflash it from stock...)

Root rights are necessary for this steps,
so you have to root your device with magisk (download zip, flash it in twrp).
If you dont have a PC, you could also type these commands in terminal emulater (enable it in developer settings).

Question Doubt regarding phone versions

Hello good morning everyone, I wanted to root my Poco X3 pro phone, but seeing the videos on youtube and tutorials I have a doubt if I do it or not, in most of them they say that you have to install the Firmware of the phone first and they put a link In some videos the version 12.9.7.0 or 12.9.4.0 global version appears, but now entering those versions does not appear, but rather 13, is it necessary to install the firmware to install a custom rom? Is there any other place where I can get the firmware? Thanks for the clarifications.
