Hi guys, just thought I'd let you all know about a free cool new app I've released on Play Store
DockClock allows you to turn your Note 3 into a cool clock while it's docked*, and is specially made for AMOLED screens which only light up the pixels they're using which creates an awesome effect, especially at night.
*Phone does not have to be docked for app to work.
Download it now from Play Store!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bucker.dockclocks5free
I use my old N2 dock and the N3 shows a buddy page with calendar when I dock it. After a few minutes the screen saver comes on automatically showing date, time and weather. Seems native as I never installed anything for this.

I know the buddy page well, and I suggest you don't use it too much.
This app I made moves the clock to a new position every 15 seconds to counter the infamous burn-in effect suffered by amoled screens.
That buddy page you are talking about, I always see them use it in phone shops and guess what, they always have screen burn in from that buddy page. That is the exact reason I created this app in the first place.
Thanks for your reaction and I don't use this page. It comes on when I put my phone to charge before I go to bed and I don't like the idea of the screen being on all night so I cut it.

Hi, I installed the app. Without using dock, is there a way to see clock automatically everytime the screen goes off?

It is really nice...
But I would also love when the screen is off

I'm guessing you mean when you press the power button to turn the screen off? No, practically impossible. There is absolutely no way of being able to do that, no matter how skilled the developer. When you press that power button it tell the screen to shutdown and no power/signal/data is sent to the screen from then onwards until you press the power button again to wake the phone up.
Stay tuned though as I'm working on a "Daydream" version which may be a great alternative to what you're asking for.
Also, if the free version isn't enough then there's another version which lets you change the colour of the clock by simply tapping!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bucker.dockclock
Thank you
Using daydream widgets one can easily install ANY widget, including of course a clock, to appear upon docking / charging. Its versatile and FREE.

when your phone is idle (screen is black) swipe you screen without touching it. shows you time, battery, calls, and messages. just a little thing i noticed
I'm stupid... Cant make it work
Sent via Tapatalk
make sure that you hover swiping the camera. you can tell it worked because the notification light will be blue. also check settings. it may be an air gesture
I finally got it to work It's in the air gesture settings.

You don't have to swipe - just reach towards the phone.
Also, it doesn't seem to work when docked/charging (still playing with that part).
Do these air gestures drain battery??
Also, I realized this particular function ONLY works if the device is sitting flat on the table. Man, Samsung really thought a lot of these features through lol.

Weird, but ok. It would be convenient to leave the screen off on the dock (since you can't STOP IT from turning off the screen after a while) and reach out for this...
Aha! It is an air gesture! I got it on... Now to get it to work...

[APP][Stock only] Glance Notifications
First testing version added... This app is only supported on samsung stock firmwares and devices with AirGesture capabilities
What does it do? It's really basic and simple, just starts QuickGlance every time you receive a notification, I'm planning to add filter options so you can choose which apps you want to exclude / add.

Love this idea!
it's work for all device?
It shows only when you receive a notification, but when you turn the screen on again, it disappears. Anyway to to make it a permanent lock screen or show the glance screen until you dismiss the notification.

I've tested the app, It has some problem with the s-view cover. When I open the cover, the glance notification screen remain on top I've to push the home button to made it disappear, and then my phone goes to lock screen. Without glance notification, when i open the s-view cover, the phone unlock itself (if not using a pin) and goes directly to home screen
It's possible You can assign a time to keep alive the notification?
Now have problem. Hangs up the phone. I have to do a forced reboot with the power button.

Download Smart Screen (beta) 4M
*************Description**************
A single-screen launcher, the layout of screen changes automatically with time such as in morning, work, evening, sleep, weekend, etc. Screen adapts himself to your life, not the other way around.
************Background*************
Smart phone get smarter and smarter while the home screen stay ‘foolish’ as they were designed with no regards to where you are or what you gonna do. SS wants to make the home screen more sensible to users' everyday life.
**********Main features*********
***Screen changes with different situation in daily life.
Fresh morning, work day, evening, sleep, party, weekend... presenting with different time-fitting apps, widgets, wallpapers and system profiles.

available to create shortcut of most frequently used apps without disrupting the minimalist style. I need this feature because most of installed apps are opened less than once a week, obviously the app drawer is not sweet enough.***

quickly access to media apps when earphone plugged in.
*** Editable icons and widgets.[NEW]
************Requirement*************
Support Android 4.0+, may not work well on tablet.

I agree with you it's so good but it uses all the pixels on amoled screens so it uses more battery.

Great app but it prevents deep sleep so as a result battery draining......
Thanks!!!

does not work. N920c screen turns itself after 3 seconds.
In some cases these sort apps needed. There are so many apps on PS like this. STAY ALIVE is best, it has some good options.
works great.
Work great ut my attery dead very quickly.
lost 3% in one houre
3% isn't too bad :/
Awesome. I would agree that the clock pixels need to shift to prevent burn in on the Amoled screens. The double tap to wake would be very useful. I am missing that and the back buttons a lot from my run with LG the past few years.
It's work but when you have phone call, it's not show you the caller screen until you push the power button for accept/deny the call.
Works okay on Note 5 but:
1) "Screen Off Memo"does not work
2) For some reason when I slide the phone into an i-Blason holster it turns (the always on app not the phone) on and stays on
-I have tried many thins to get it to stay off but it will stay on the whole time it is in the holster.
-If I just hold the holster up to the light sensor is turns off but as soon as I slide it in it turns on and stays on
-I made sure that the phone is not pushing any buttons and I even slid a piece of paper between the sensor and the holster and it turns off
as soon as I remove the paper it turns back on, but there is no way light is getting in
Really, weird.

Has anybody seen this? I am trying it right now looks very promising !
Edit- well the battery drain with this app is also around 3% per hour which is too much....
basically, after extensive testing, this app drains batttery and isnt what everyone hoped for. .. a big unfortunately i must say, as the app is quite nice indeed.

Agree, the irony is you can literally see your battery percentage going down. , otherwise an awesome app. Dev needs to concentrate on saving battery instead of making new themes/ fonts etc.

as you can see i manged to get the second screen work with the main screen as one big screen using these tow apps
control screen rotation
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ahapps.controlthescreenorientation&hl=en_US
and
screen shift
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sagar.screenshift2
simply you have to use (control screen rotation) so you can rotate the screen by 180 degree and open screen shift and apply this sittings
you can make a profile using screen shift app so you only get the full screen while using a specific app
the only problem with this method is the touch screen get shifted up-word so its not accrued
but you can watch movies using netflix or any media player
niceeee

I found out about another way of accessing the "full screen". If you enable the 3 tap zoom in the settings and tap the screen 3 times, then it will go into full screen and you can actually see that we don't have two screens but only one.

Yeah we need to wait for a Dev to see this and try it out
Furthermore, I was wondering about the marketing of this phone. I recall that it's been advertised as a phone with 2 screen's. Now, this obviously does not have 2 screens but more of a "notch". Does that make it false advertising??
I honestly feel kinda cheated by HTC. This also makes creating custom ROMs so much more complicated as it's not a second screen that Devs can just leave out, but a notch with a rather weird placement, that has to be implemented somehow.
If we do get official pie update from HTC, then I believe that has support for notches built in, so perhaps this may not be as big a problem as we think!?
