AirDroid is a free and fast Android device manager app that helps you manage your Android phone/tablet from a web browser, all over the air.
You just need to install it on your Android device, and then open a supported desktop web browser (Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, IE) to access the web address given by AirDroid on your Android device.
The main features of AirDroid are listed on the website here:http://airdroid.com/

We will add some app info in guide thread.

Setting browser proxy on non-rooted Android

I am planning to develop an app which will proxy the web pages viewed by the user in the browser on Android. From reading on teh web I understand that in current Android versions it is impossible to run an app that will get ALL the HTTP requests from all the apps and proxy them, without roting the phone.
But if I only want the HTTP traffic from the browser to go through my app, not from any generic app, can I do that without rooting the phone? It is important that everyday users will be able to download the app from the Market and run it without root

[Q] Any way to edit maps on Android?

I can customize maps with both Google Maps and Mapquest, on the desktop, by dragging points. Does anyone know if there's any way to do this on my Note, using any of the following?
1. Android apps (Google Maps, Mapquest or something else?)
2. Desktop website through browser on Android
3. Mobile website through browser on Android
Mapquest offers the option to "click and drag" a point on a route, using their desktop website, but as I can't "click," this isn't terribly useful.
Any ideas?
As a related topic, when I do have a map in the browser and want to copy the URL using the link icon, I can select the link, but the copy/cut/paste options don't pop up.

[APP] Universal bookmarks import/export tool

Hi again,
When you select a Internet browser and you use it during a long time, you have provably added some bookmarks and the browsers (normally) don't supports to export it.
This difficult the easy browser change
My actual project tries to solve it.
With this application you can export/import bookmarks from one to other browser easy.
Of course not all the browsers are supported. At this moment I'm only have developed interfaces for stock browser, Samsung browser, Dolphin, Firefox (normal and beta versions) and Bloat (normal and mini versions).
Also, Chrome is supported (only export bookmarks to another browser is supported at this moment).
The app access to the browsers file system in order to get/set the bookmarks. Due to that, app needs to got root permissions.
Please, let me know your opinions.
Thanks

Viewing PDF files in web browser windows?

At my work I use a web browser based online medical billing system to enter various types of client/patient data. Some of this data must be entered into PDF files that when opened on a Windows OS computer, open up a PDF in a web browser window. I then enter the data into the PDF and can save, as well as edit it in that window. Does anyone know if there is a way to enable such a feature using an Android web browser? So far I have tried just about all Android web browsers and have not been able to do this. Every time I attempt to do this using one of the Android web browsers the PDF file usually just is downloaded, yet it is a blank PDF with none of the previously entered data. I would love to be able to use my new Samsung Note 10.1 2014 edition for work, rather than my relatively large work laptop. Any help with this question would be most appreciated.

[Completed] How to create application independent url shortcuts in android?

I have created some bookmarks in chrome and added them to my homescreen. These are either some apps/websites which i vist rarely and want to avoid having individual apps installed or some daily visit websites which doesn't have an app. These shortcuts open fine with chrome but the problem is they open only with chrome. I am currently trying some lightweight browsers like xbrowser, naked browser and want these shortcuts to open directly with the system's default browser. Even if I uninstall/disable chrome, these shortcuts don't open with any other browser. Same goes for shortcuts created using any other browser. I would like to have url shortcuts on homescreen which are independent of any particular browser. Plz help
