Read this post in its entirety before you download and flash!
Everything seems to work well with one MAJOR caveat... You MUST format DATA AFTER you install the ROM!
Im not talking about a factory reset, I am talking about a FULL data format!
Failure to FORMAT Data will cause the inability to write to your internal storage which will cause the O/S to not work correctly!!!
Make a back up of everything you need off of Internal storage, this includes TWRP back ups, movies, pics, etc...
Remember, you have been warned! YOU MUST FORMAT DATA which will erase everything on your tablets internal storage!!!

It's smooth as butter. I do enjoy the extra little animations Google threw into Android L. I don't think it's any different than the first build as far as performance, though.

I'm really enjoying this preview of Android L, really awesome of what's to come. So smooth, clean, loving the animations, and the keyboard is dope. Thank you for this Scott.
I think the animations make it look more polished. I dont know about speed. Antutu scores decent.
I just like having a new look as well.
What I don't like.... Too much info n the lock screen... IM sure that's changeable though... Also don't like the pull down status bar style any more. I liked the old style better or maybe they could make the shade the entire width of the screen.
Overall its really a more polished version than what I was expecting

You guys forgot about battery life, with L i'm getting about 2+ hours more screen on time compared to 4.4.4. :good:

One thing I think about when you say that... Did you open SuperSU and let it update the binaries? Just a thought, dont know if it will make a difference.
My wi-fi hotspot is invisible for android L. What i should to do?

Let me introduce myself. I'm jmotyka and im no developer, i am a graphic designer and android themer/enthusiast. I used to be a well known themer for the Nexus One and worked along side of Manup456. I have been out of the theming and developing seen for a while until now, i am very rusty. This is my first step into the android world again. I have many friends/devs that will help out when needed. I am a very busy man i dont have much time to develop, so please bare with me if i go on a multi-day hiatus. This rom is not and will not be my priority. 4. Skip recovery flash!(after flashing the rom CWM will prompt you with the option to flash or skip. SKIP!!!!

7. Reboot and DERP

Notes:
This rom actually comes from china. The only thing i did was change some build.prop stuff to get it functioning. To start off for some odd reason who ever developed the rom in china left the DPI to 310 and it looked horrible, so i set it to 213 which is the groupers standard dpi, it looked much better but the drop down notification window was getting cut off, so i decided to set it to 240 which looks great IMHO. This is by far not the final product. I am by no means a skilled developer but i am a tinkerer and if i run into issues usually i can fix them.
Important Notes
1)This rom for what ever reason has a recovery baked in. I recommend running cwm because cwm will let you SKIP the recovery flashing. I have not had time to remove this yet but i will. DONT ACCEPT THE RECOVERY FLASH BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW IF ITS OK OR NOT. I don't see why it would be a problem because this rom was developed for the N7.
2)I AM NOT TO BLAME IF YOU FLASH THIS AND YOU NEXUS 7 BLOWS UP. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED

Click the settings icon, slide the settins page to the left look for the keyboard icon in the menu click the keyboard icon, then the first line of chinese charachters will let you select english.
Anyone else flashed this yet? I was waiting for MIUI to become available before I rooted my Nexus 7.

Running great for me. I froze the dialer and the Chinese app store and its running smooth. Lock screen is huge and keyboard runs in phone mode, but I'm finding it easier to type on than stock.

Also I noticed in the first screenshot it says "No service" at the top left corner. Does it always say that? Can that be removed and/or edited? Thanks!
I am kind of reluctant to root my Nexus 7 because I don't know if I can still receive official Google updates on Android if I root it or if I can even unroot it.

Regarding your other concerns I would say go ahead and root. With the toolkits available it is very easy to flash back to stock, unroot, and relock the bootloader if needed.

But, I think I lost root.Rom manager hangs with error as does Titanium. I tried to get back to cwm but for the life of me I cannot boot back into it. If I could I would fix permissions there. But again. I may have lost root?
Fixed. Went to permission mgr and all seems to be good again.

If you need help with something such as default language english and all that stuff i can help out. Also you can change the size to stock by modding the services.jar and androidpolicy.jar file. Im going to expiriment a bit, thanks so much again.

Should update bootloader. It is attached as a ZIP file but is not flashable! You need to fastboot flash it. For those in windows I have batch file in there along with ADB and fastboot.
First boot is a loooooooooooong time! About 5 to 7 minutes!
You must be on TWRP 2.8.1.0+ for this ROM to Flash properly!
Troubleshooting
If you get no status bar reboot to recovery and clear all cache. If that doesnt work try flashing the factory image then flash TWRP again and then this ROM.
Getting Symlinks failed during install? Make sure /system is unchecked in TWRP mounts
Problems with internal storage? Look at THIS POST for fix by @freakzapster
Root not working right? Flash newer SuperSU by @Chainfire but play store update should be fine!

Sorry... I put the bootloader in the op and you should be on 4.04.
You can prolly get buy with 4.02, many people did on the initial 5.0.0. release.

Normally me too , but I figured since it was only a minor update and I was already running the same stock 5.0.0 ROM I'd give it a try. Eveything seems fine so far. No issues at all yet.

Edit: Sadly tons of 3rd party apps still haven't been updated for Lollipop even after almost 1 month since it was released. Minion Rush and Dead Trigger 2 still work like I have a 2009 device. It's the app's fault or Lollipop's hardware acceleration or memory management, but I am 80% sure that it's because those apps haven't been updated. They work fine for 2 seconds then another 2-3 seconds they go into slow motion mode and sadly I have to go back to KK until this is fixed
Dirty flashed over stock rooted 5.0.0... No issues... And no noticeable differences between both, so far.
Are there any problems if we use CWM instead of TWRP? I'm not a TWRP kid of guy...

So it looks like YouTube mediaplayer is fixed and (at last!) volume control on animated gifs in Instagram works properly (previously it was changing notifications level not media). Hopefully WiFi connection will be also stable but this needs a longer testing.

Maybe be placebo efect like Scott said... but, I think the animations are a bit better more detailed... I dont know I always use animations in 0.5x... Maybe they had improved...

Use the root settings in dev settings .. You probably jacked it up with the play store stuff already so remove that stuff enable dev settings and select app and adb under root settings.
I've been running cm11 due to awesome battery life with my Mugen battery.... But after reading through OP and change log by versions I'm really impressed. ! Def if it has o.c. options ,govs and so forth. Feature packed! Welcome $droyd$

That is another reason I am downloading now. For some reason cm11 does not allow me to use g3 volume booster due to mixer path xml issue. So jumping on board the Illusion. Was waiting for someone to integrate faux in both aspects.! Pretty excited

Don't know what I'm doing wrong been flashing for years without issues, I reflashed this skip google login enabled root in dev and apps and adb and then I rebooted went into Playstore and installed superSU which tells me the same thing no root binary installed. Got me

Bugs
Stock Camera has a force close. But any other camera from Play Store works fine.
Fingerprint Scanner not working. Even after rebuilding the whole rom from scratch.

Since I was making custom roms for whole Note series, I decided to finally make a custom rom for our device too.
If You remember me from other roms, You'll know that soon this rom will get tons of really cool features(Xposed,Viper, etc).

Yesterday I had to go to hospital ,and my hand is in a really bad shape. So I can't really do a lot of coding right now, it should get better in a week or two. So for now, here You go guys! Quite usable 1.1 version, with root, and other nice apps. BTW I'm still waiting for the battery, cause now I can only charge battery to 10-20% and then my phone keeps on rebooting. But it's probably because my battery is a little swollen. I quickly took screenshots of 1.1 version. 1.1 Link should be up in like 3-4 hours.
I got the kernel to boot, and everything works quite nicely. But for now I'll give You a better kernel which is Googy-Max-N4

About the camera issue....i juat saw in ruling lite rom that flashing the stock first and then flashing philzrecovery and after that the custom rom fixes the camera FC. By all means I'm not a developer or something but it just might do the trick. Thank you for your support mate

Thanks for telling me that , I already tried that and it didn't fix it. So I don't really know(Maybe it's just my device). But It didn't broke anything so You can try it and tell me if it works for You. I'm already trying to put apps in 1.1 that normally work with root, but just trying to make them work without it
Seems like some of these apps only require root to install, and after that You don't need root permissions anymore, So we will see
Edit: Well. Even though they don't need root later, they do need system rw to work.
Edit2: Busybox works fine. As long as You don't use commands that require root permissions.

Sure. I'll add them soon. But it looks just like stock version of 5.1.1. The only thing I themed for now is just s-pen hovering thingy.
Edit: Trying to port Note 5 look, to this rom.
Verified to work: Busybox, commands that don't require root to work.
Galaxy S6 Keyboard. Maybe I'll theme it. Or add option to choose what theming You want to use (In aroma)
just download 1.0 but will wait for 1.1...cheer!!

I already found a way on how to compress the file to like 1.2Gb instead of 1.6Gb. But the more apps I add the bigger it becomes. Tonight I'll try to spend at least 4-6 hours and work on it. Maybe I'll theme other apps.

I do know that! . But unfortunately even though I got my "super powerful computer" back. My battery broke. So I can't do much developing right now. But don't worry. In a couple of days I'll get money. And then get a new battery Maybe to that time we will get a fully working root. I do have a fully working 1.1 build with rooted kernel. But it had reboot issues. And now my phone broke so yeah :/. But don't worry. I'm doing my best to get that new battery as soon as possible

Does the camera bug persist on v1.1???
Yeah. It does. But any other camera from Playstore works fine. Plus there is an optional fix for that. And all You need to do is to flash this rom through phillz and not through twrp. It won't break Your phone so everyone can try it.

@Debuffer, personally, I have no use for all the "extra" functionality of a custom kernel. After the holidays, I'll look into providing a custom kernel along with the stock one (like bhb does with RR). Just out of curiosity, did you install the Kernel Auditor app?

Yeah, I got that part after I went to the site. I was looking for the kernel in a bid to try using it with the ROM. I have been using the ROM for the past 3 hours now and all seems smooth and stable so far. I will keep running it and see, if it stays this way I just may have a new daily driver
Great rom, it runs very well. Only issue with it, is that the torch using gestures is very inconsistent. Similar to what happened when 6.0 roms first came out. It either takes 30 seconds to activate, or never works at all.
Also, the setting to control media volume by default doesn't work. This is the same on cm14.1, so imagine it's not something you can easily change in the rom.
Users with GPS problem only make the flash of this file that will be solved.

great rom, liked it alot, clean installed it without any phone stop errors, bhb27's auditor n govtuner works perfectly aswell
only one issue i have was when i take photos im not able to share them online for some reason (example via watsapp or facebook) it always shows "sharing failed please try again" msg. dont know what happened there i tried re-installing watsapp and also a different camera app but still get the same error.
reverted back to 6.1 for now as i really need photo share as my work is depended on it, although i did notice the pictures i took on 7.1 now in the gallery were corrupt n un-viewable aswell ? was there something i did wrong? should i try flashing again?

There are 2 folders where pictures are stored: DCIM and Pictures
Using the built in file explorer (or a PC), rename each of these. I did DCIM2 and Pictures2, then use your phone to take a picture. Both folders will be recreated. Then, drag and drop everything from the #2 folder into the corresponding "New" folder.
Hassle? Just a bit, but we did just change branches on our android phones :laugh:
