[Q] Android L on Sensation - HTC Sensation

The day that we will get the Android L ROM for Sensation (that day will come, we know)... Will we can enjoy with a ROM with no 'drain battery problem'?
There's no ROM, except ICS stock rom, that manage the life of battery so well
Sorry guys, if my thread (offtopic) isn't in the correct section
And, thanks for reading.

I used almost every Rom ICS,JB,KITKAT
But best battery life in my experience ViperS 5.x.x with SebastianFM kerenl

I wanted to install ViperS but didn't because the rom was 700Mb. How much free space do you have for apps after installing ViperS?

To answer the question in the title by the way,
I think to get Android L on a Sensation would require something with the system partitions, and because it's primarily ART: there will be a few problems regarding stability, alas: I think. I am not a developer myself but I've overheard discussions about it.

The size of the rom actually doesn't mather that much, because everything is installed to the /system partition and apps are installed on /data partition.

ViperS 5.2.1 is excellent indeed.

Even though I feel like i could get more battery life out this ROM i have to agree it is the best ROM for sensation so far. All the KitKat roms are pretty poor in terms of battery life. I had a swollen battery a couple weeks ago and my sensation could still get by.

Sense 6
I think i'm looking forward to see Venom port the full sense 6 with whichever version of android more than the port of android L. Sense is my personal preference.

Yeah Sense 6 port would be awesome but probably Sensation will never get sense 6 port. It is same problem why Sense roms on Sensation stuck on JB 4.1.2. But little hope still exist HTC ONE S got sense 6 port but only (S4 version). I still hope.

I envy those One S owners. I love the sensation but i hope to get a One M8 or M7 soon. Still keeping the sensation out of love.

endymon is the most stable sense 3.5 rom,all of the ics roms have no working camera for now untill we get a new kernal.
But there are non-Sense ICS roms with working camera, if that would interest you.
You may also try Virtuous ROMs.. they are quite stable and fast as well.. Also Bindroid is a good option, basically you need to try yourself..
Endymion.
Endymion.
Virtuous

Ice Cold Sandwich is an ics rom with a mostly working camera. Other than that, endymion is the best and most stable sense rom imo.
ok thx everyone.
one question. for s-off i have seen 3-4 threads.
i have Hboot 2.00.0002 now.
which guide is the best for me?
thanks in advance!

Just out of interest, why did you get the desire S if you had such powerful phones before hand? The nexus S isn't more powerful but the galaxy S II is much more powerful and a much better phone.
I sell the SGS2 befor 1 week.
I am not sure what to buy now so in the mean time I wanted an android phone.
But only for 2-3 week.So I can decide what to buy between One X/One S or Xperia S or SGS3 .

Hi folks.
I've got some time off from work so I can finally play a bit with my new Desire S. I have it for almost a month and didn't even change a thing
I've looked into the dev section and there's a ton of ROMS. Previously I had a Legend and the development there was way smaller then here.
Basically I'm looking for a good Sense ROM with some tweaks, OC support and good battery life. Any recommendations?
Also, I would like to know if anything goes wrong can I flash it without issues to stock with no signs of unlocking the bootloader etc?
I don't use it as I don't really like Sense, but you can't go wrong with Endymion as a ROM.
So Endymion will be my furst try
One question - is this normal on the Desire S, that you need to flash boot.img manualy on every ROM when unlocked via HTCdev?

Yes, its as a result of using HTCDEV.
You can attempt to RELOCK, downgrade and then S-OFF using Revolutionary, which will mean that you don't need to do that boot flash separately, but, I'd suggest that you save that for next week, there are several guides that should help....but would suggest that you read them all first.
Which rom is better
Endimyon or Primodonna
I am not intersted in camera much
And rom has better battery life
Plzzs suggest ???

I don't think that's a fair comparison. Endymion is a stable rom, Primadonna is still "experimental".
A more correct comparison will be. Endymion vs Affinity, i for one use Affinity as a daily driver, but others like Endymion more.
Both of them are stable it's just a question of personal feeling(i think).
Reaper 3.0 is a superb stable ROM too.
I still haven't tried endy yet because Reaper is so good

[Q] What's ROM is better for you?

Good evening
I just read the new ViperSs 1.0 ROM and it looks awesome! I have ARHD 6.6.7 with faux kernel and HQ camera MOD, and I want to change to something new, maybe Sense 4.0 based on news HTC's or non-Sense ROM (Cyanogenmod or MIUI).
I like CyanogenMod, but there is no stable version yet.
MIUI has a spanish stable version based on v2.4.27.
ViperSs ROM have only one bug: HDMI out doesn't work, but it isn't a problem for me. ARHD and ViperSs are very similar in features, but ViperSs use bricked kernel. I didn't use it before, but it seems very good.
Is there another ROM with new features? What ROM you recommend me?
Thank you in advance!
I'm downloading ViperSs now at the moment ARHD 6.6.4 and I haven't used any other Rom in my Sensation, so is the moment to try another one

I think so. ARHD is a very stable ROM, but I want something new and I want it now! xD I'm waiting for your first impression of ViperSs =)
It all comes down to your personal
taste. I always liked the sense look and feel. I'm running the new Viper ROM right now and it is really fast.

Obligatory mention of MIUI. Now that certain websites are building for the Sensation from source, AOSP and Sense based, you get some serious performance and some really great software.
But that's only if you want to let go of Sense.

i agree its just to hard to let go of the htc camera and a couple widgets that cannot be matched on any other rom.
i prefer NonSense roms, caus i dont like sense, and rom is much smoother without it...
i like Asop but for me, battery life is not as good as on sense based roms...
just moved to viperss, after using arhd such a long time and i believe sense 4 is a little faster in applications however scrolling is very slow on all sense 4 roms, i tried elegancia, ordroid, insertcoin evolution and at the end viperss all have scrolling problem, maybe not a problem but i got used to scroll fast
Trying out viper now. So far amazing battery life and the viper tweaks are cool!

Thank you to all. I think I'll try ViperSs ROM and if I don't like it, I'll try non-Sense ROM like MIUI.
CM not is a stable ROM, that's true. My girlfriend has CM 7.2 and she has some important bugs...
I'll post my experiences with new ROMs! ;-)
Thank you again!

tray ORDROID 9.0 very stable and sense 4.0. bricked is one of the best kernels I have tested... so i recommend that combination... good luck!
I think you will be happy with viper.i know the battery life seemed better than ordroid . I'm actually quite shocked at how great the battery is on viper. Its always been a issue in the past now its great. Also haven't tried yet but wifi tethering is supposed to work. Only bug reported so far is HDMI output. I'm running now will try out tethering soon.

One question, What wipe I have to use to flash viperS ROM? SuperWipe of ARHD or wipe all data of 4EXT Recovery?
I suppose that the method is:
.- Backup old ROM, apps and SMS/contacts (personal information in general).
.- Reboot into recovery
.- Wipe all.
.- Install from SD card
END =)

The ViperS installer makes a full wipe at the beginning I think...let's see, when I changed from ARHD to ViperS I flashed "ARHD Super Wipe", then wipe all from 4ext, and then flashed the new rom btw I remember that those wipes deleted my games data (like N.O.V.A. or Asphalt downloaded data)...the "Android" folder one.

sensation rom jb or ics

whats the most stable rom between jb and ics I want one that as hardly any bugs or drains the battery
try elegancia or viper s ICS. They're both very stable and bug free. In my experience JB is buggier and drains the battery a bit more.
Hi
All roms are good you will have to try on your own, it depends upon you what you like search in development section you will get all of them try them out its not compulsory which Rom is stable on my cell will be stable with you
The most common stable Rom is
HTC STOCK rom

try arhd.. all rom is really god, just set for yourself
Before there where any normal JB roms out there I was on ViperS what was on ICS base.... I would say the best of the best out there on ICS base!
Have tried Elegancia but it wasnt for me.... Dont know why battery drainage was 2x more that viper's and found to much bugs in 4 day usage... went back to ViperS!
Now for about 2 months im on JB 4.2.2 AOSP And im also very happy now...
There are NO specific best ROM out there....For example one person likes ViperS, one likes elegancia, third one likes something else....
I have tried about 7 rom's overall in my sensation life... but these 2 (ICS -ViperS, JB - AOSP) in my opinion are the best...
Which ICS <-> JB? Flash and you see which one you like the most! I'd preffer JB now because its 'smoother'....
Just flash, try for few days if you like it stay, if you don't choose the next one... They are all for free!
I try them viper and jb

[Q] HTC Sensation 4.1 ROM

Which is the most stable 4.1 for our HTC Sensation up to this date? Thanks
I'm not allowed to post links to other forums but I found out that the Mikhei777 sense 4.1 rom is the fastest and stabliest one with all features working. You can find it on DroiDevs forums
Most stable is Elegancia
But stop with these threads please

Thanks for the response. Is Mikhei777 sense 4.1 retains it's original 4.1 looks? I have tried Elegancia ROMs but it seems like it's fully themed and integrated all those special tweaks. Yes, Elegancia has the original-look ROM but still, it's fully tweaked. I was hoping it was like ARHD ROM. Sorry, I am not against themed ROM, but I think not that very obvious.

Do you guys really think mikhei777 Rom is that good? I'm on it now an it seems to offer barely any more stability, and definitely seems a little slower.
My favorite has been Elegancia v5.0.0. It seems the fastest, and all the new versions did was make stuff unstable and add stupid features.

So.... did you try any of the ones that were recommended? I am really looking for a good 4.1 Rom. I bought a sensation from a friend and it came with Cyanogenmod (10.1 I think )... way too laggy, stuff kept shutting down, took forever to go back to the homescreen when pressing HOME... so I tried one called SuperXE... supposed to be super basic, and it is... maybe a bit too basic... it did improve performance a lot compared to CM but still feel the phone should run better. I came from a stock Gingerbread Inspire 4G (with bloatware and all)... and the sensation seems way slower in comparison. I've been considering going to ICS on ARHD, reading tutorials and how to do it but to be honest I'm 1)too much of a noob to tell if that can be done without any problems since I'm already on jellybean 2)afraid I might brick the phone.

flashing a rom won't brick your device
just put the rom.zip in your sdcard and flash it from recovery
and before flashing a rom
1)make a nandroid backup just in case
2)full wipe from recovery

I recommend that you try ViperS 1.6.3 or Elegancia 7.0.0 since they both the best sense 4.1 rom which provides great battery life and specs. But like always, please make an backup in recovery
In my opinion elegancia 7.0.0 is the best rom based on sense 4.1. It looks like stock sense in every way and it has got very good performance and battery life

best all around *stable* rom?

Ello lads,
I actually use an HTC DNA as my primary phone but bought a Sensation today for $20. It's already rooted and running on CyanogenMod 9.0.0-RC0-pyramid-UNOFFICIAL
Wondering if I should just leave it on that or is there a better(faster/stable) rom that's recommended? thanks!

From personal experience - all ICS ROMs are stable and very good for daily use. As for JB, Cyanogenmod ROMs are stable too (used albinoman's CM10.1 ROM for a couple of months, been a great experience), and people say CM10.2 is good as well.
As for Sense JB (Sense 4+, namely ViperS and Revelation), They work well, but might have some bugs here and there (It's a ported kernel, and is mostly functional, and from my experience with it (it's my daily driver) it's very good).
For the long runs CM10.1 seemed to run better for me, but that's my opinion.
Hoped I helped.
Bruce cm and sense 4+ rons are the most stable Rom out there , sultan. Is also unstable due to kernel and other cm too .
