Off hand, I can think of two areas to check. First look in your settings and insure that NFC is turned on. Second, do you have the original battery? If you have an aftermarket battery it may not have the NFC antennae built in.

Speculatively, if you have the standard battery which does say NFC on it. possibly it has lost continuity on the antennae under the battery wrapper paper. I do not know for certain which is which of the four contact pads on the battery. I would imagine they are magnetic loop in, out, ground, and plus. But which is which I could not say offhand. I looked it up once thinking I might just tape a wire loop onto the body of a 2300mAh battery I bought for air travel so I would not run out of juice while stuck on a flight.
The picture is just something I found in a bing search that shows the antennae under the wrapper I did not go to the page to see what this battery is being sold for. So, if the loop has continuity and NFC is turned on in the settings and it still does not pass a connection you might then assume something is awry on the circuit board.

Don't know if any have tried it, but it works on cm7. You can't search for other artists (apparently, when google found out about the leak, they shut down the servers..(for both down load and streaming).
But the app by itself is nifty enough to make me want to use it instead if the native music app. It has a nice iphone-like flow-search (or whatever that's called).
Check out my screen shots below. I dont have much music on my phone now (so no cracks about the sound of music track I have in there), but you can get an ideas of what it looks like.
I would upload it for you guys, but I don't know where it is on my phone. I installed it, and then opened it immediately. When I tried looking around on the SDcard, I couldn't find it anywhere.
But just search here in xda under "honeycomb music app leaked" or similar.
Edit : I don't think it works in Froyo.
Edit: anyone know why these screen shots are blurry? they look fine in my gallery....??? [when I try to upload them to this thread, tapatalk takes over--(which I presume is the xda app), so I think something is getting screwed up st that point.. And I am not near a working computer at the moment

Then how come its not used in any roms? Or at least more frequently used. I have been playing with it for 2 days, and it is a fast nicer music app them the old one.
How long ago was this originally leaked? From everything I have read (which could be wrong I guess), this music app is for honeycomb and is going to be part of google's anticipated entry into music to compete with the iPhone/iPod. It can't be that old.

it works on stock MT4G
I've had this on other android devices before but never this bad. Under network usage, the top item is consistently "0". Clicking on it results in FC. I just went to CM7. I dont think the issue came back until I reinstalled all of my apps. I used a network monitor when I was stock rooted and never saw anything unusual. Anyone have any ideas? I have a feeling it is killing my battery.

Bump. I have the same issue. If I click on the item labeled 0, it force closes.

Can you give me a list of all of your apps? Maybe we have a culprit in common.
Bump.......

I have the same. I believe it is all non system apps lumped together as I don't have any of them listed like I did on my n1. I think the system isn't representative of individual app use for data or battery. The battery history normally lists apps associated with a specific uid if you press each. My theory is something in the framework isn't registering apps independently but grouping them together creating false readouts.
[EDIT] I do see individual apps on network use so I want to strike my theory. Now I'm just back to puzzled.

Sorry, been too busy to check back in on XDA for a few days. I could post a list of apps, but my original observation was during the couple of days after I did all the factory wiping / calibrating to fix my battery life. I didn't have any non-stock apps installed at the time.
The 0 is still there, and still force closes. I was hoping some more people might have insight on this, but it doesn't seem to have caught on.

Hi everyone! I got my new one s just yesterday and I've been noticing some issues.
First of all a huge problem with Wi-Fi: death grip! I had a desire s before, it also has the same issue but the difference was that it didn't loose the whole signal, just had it dropped a lot. My one s disconnects from Wi-Fi if I hold it landscape.
The other issue is with the screen. With low brightness I can see vertical stripes slightly darker than other parts of the screen. It seems to happen with grey images too.
There is also another issue, with headphones. No matter which ones (tried with monster and soundmagic). Listening to music and turning off or on the screen, I hear the audio crackling for a couple of seconds.
Software version is 1.78.161.2. It's Vodafone brand (Italy) with no more ota updates available.

The WiFi antenna is in the top part of the phone, I don't remember which corner. So when you put your hand over it our blocking the antenna. Just hold it differently.
As for the other problems, I must have a perfect device because nothing is wrong with it. T-Mobile branded.

For me the WiFi issues were solved with the 2.31 update but seeing as you're carrier locked that update might not come, as poster above says, I'venever had such audio problems so its probably a hardware defect covered under warranty. Request a replacement I think. Just make sure they give you the same chipset as what your device has now!
I have same problem with lcd panel like you, vertical and few horizontal stripes on low brightness. Pls everyone who read this thread, try download Bad pixel test and set brightness to the lowest position and try gray background in this app.
I am running clean rom 2.1 and have had great battery life until a couple days ago. I checked gsam and noticed I had a very high android OS%. In the clean rom thread someone had mentioned that gsiff.daemon could be a culprit. I have a long list of under the android OS and don't know if this is normal or not.
It was also mentioned that renaming the gsiff.daemon can help cure it. Would you do that under root manager? Does it matter what you rename it?
Any help would be appreciated

I am experiencing the same problem. I am stock rooted and unlocked. What is the best way to determine what the rogue application is that is causing the problem. Also, I to know the best way to fix it.

Get better battery stats from the general apps section. Follow the instructions on its post.

I had the same issue with gsiff.daemon running stock rooted, unlocked. There are several way to determine if gsiff is the culprit, turn on 'Show CPU usage' under Developed options, and third party apps that monitor CPU usage. I like System Tuner from the Play store. Basically, gsiff runs amok and chews up available CPU after a 'hot reboot'. A standard reboot put gsiff in its place. I used Root Explorer to change the file name to xxx.xxx.bak. No more gsiff issues and I haven't noticed any changes in the phone functionality. It's been a couple weeks since I've changed the file name. There is much more discussion on this thread.
Hi!
I love my red TF-300T but one big thing sucks: The charging behavior with attached dock. It's really like the Transformer is like "OH MY GOD, I'VE LOST 10%! MUST IMMEDIATELY RECHARGE!!!!". Is there a way to switch that bull**** off? F.e. a rule that the tablet only recharges when the battery level is below let's say 20%?

This is actually normal behavior. All android devices stop charging at 100 percent to prevent overcharge and damage to the battery. The only way I know to stop or change it is by kernel source code.

I have a similar question along the same lines:
Is it possible to have the tablet change it's performance mode based on whether or not it is docked? Similar to how on a windows PC the computer changes power settings based on battery or being plugged in, is such a feature possible on this tablet?

Once I un-brick (or what I think to be a brick) my tablet, it will be rooted and CM10'd, the full nine yards. I'd really like to have custom charging rules if possible.
